On Wednesday, liberal filmmaker Michael Moore joined pundit Chris Matthews in thanking Hurricane Sandy for causing dozens of deaths and widespread destruction across the Eastern Seaboard.

In an enthusiastic blog post titled “Morning in America ^[2],” Moore said the deadly storm had proven global warming skeptics wrong.

“And you, Mother Nature, with all your horrific damage, death and destruction you caused last week, you became, ironically, the undoing of a Party that didn’t believe in you or your climate changing powers,” Moore wrote.

Matthews, who hosts “Hardball” on liberal network MSNBC, said after President Barack Obama’s re-election that he was “glad” Hurricane Sandy had hit. He later apologized.
