Abortion “Without Government Interference”

The Freedom of Choice Act contains language advocating the termination of a pregnancy “without government interference.” That’s a phrase, along with the term “privacy” that we’re not used to associating with the heavy hand of government these days.
Unfortunately, we are getting used to the intrusion and restrictions of big government in our personal lives on a daily basis. But when it comes to abortion and the murdering of innocents, the federal government is willing to turn a blind eye under the guise of freedom of choice, while with the other eye they limit how much toothpaste and shampoo we can take on an airplane.
Proponents of the deceptively titled Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) would have us believe that the purpose of the bill is to codify Roe. v. Wade. Such is not the case. There is no attempt, however, to hide the true intent of FOCA, H.R. 1964 in the House and S. 1173 in the Senate, in any ambiguous terminology. Feeling threats to Roe. v. Wade, as some states try to limit and regulate abortion, the pro-abortion league is going all out to effectively end any opposition to abortion, legally and finally.
FOCA will specifically change the present policy in the United States, guaranteeing that surgical and medical abortions be a fundamental right. It would invalidate any “statute, ordinance, regulation, administrative order, decision, policy, practice, or other action” of any federal, state, or local government or governmental official, that would “deny or interfere with a woman’s right to choose.”
This is broad language, indeed. But it gets even broader.

FOCA will apply “to every Federal, State, and local statute, ordinance, regulation, administrative order, decision, policy, practice, or other action enacted, adopted, or implemented before, on, or after the date of enactment.” In essence it usurps the rights of the states to decide for themselves any restrictions or limitations on abortion. Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), who introduced the bill in the Senate, rightly summed it up saying, “FOCA will supersede all other laws.” And the bill has powerful supporters. According to a June report carried by CNSNews, in July 2007 during a speech to the Planned Parenthood action fund, President-Elect Obama said: “Well, the first thing I’d do as president is, is sign the Freedom of Choice Act…. That’s the first thing I’d do.”
The far-reaching provisions in the bill will invalidate and nullify the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003, the Hyde Amendment, informed consent laws, waiting periods, parental notification laws, limits on public funding for elective abortions (American taxpayers, like it or not, will foot the bill for abortions and the abortion industry), and health and safety regulations for the abortion clinics themselves.
The most egregious provisions of the bill would allow the killing of technically full-term babies for “health” reasons, and would remove legal protections for religiously-affiliated hospitals and the doctors and nurses who staff them.
Personally, the most inexplicable passage in the FOCA bill is found in Section 2, Number 7:
The Roe v. Wade decision also expanded the opportunities for women to participate equally in society. In 1992 Planned Parenthood v. Casey (505 U.S. 833), the Supreme Court observed that ‘[t]he ability of women to participate equally in the economic and social life of the Nation has been facilitated by their ability to control their reproductive lives.’
What? Getting an abortion means one is only then equally participating in society?
FOCA will impose the immorality of abortion and utter disregard for life on an entire nation and people. It is not about “reproductive freedom;” that is nothing but a euphemism for abortion. FOCA is about promoting abortion, not reducing abortions.

Good. This article was written by someone with a religion problem.
If you don’t want an abortion, don’t have one. And keep your filthy religious dogma’s out of other people’s lives.
For the record, I believe that mothers who are crazy enough to kill their babies, should be allowed to do so. The babies will otherwise be an unwanted burden to the rest of the world, and are likely to end up crazy too. Let Darwin decide. 100’s of millions of years of evolution aren not wrong.

Well first off in my opinion a life is a life, both a female and male know that there is a possibility of getting pregnant when the two mingle and it shouldn’t be no shock.
Second that is murder …if your mother did it to you ,you would not be here today, so
Third that means if you are pregnant and keep the unborn baby there will be a human life but if you kill it it will not of course because you stopped the life from being complete, that is just common sense, if it was not meant to be God will have you miscarry.
A unborn life is God’s Creation and his gift to us.
We mess up first because we disobey; having sex and not being one with someone, but everyone sins and it still doesn’t give anyone an excuse to kill no matter how small you are…

This law apparently would give no protection to doctors and hospitals who refuse to perform abortions. That means no more pro life doctors, and I will be darned if I let an abortionist doctor deliver my babies into this world. Uh uh, no way!
the other repercussion we should consider is the economic damage this will do. Check out this website, tells you all about the fact that abortion is one of the major reasons why we are having a financial crisis in this country. And will be the reason for the next Great Depression.

it’s not like ladies get pregnant on purpose just to abort like some twisted serial killer. (at least for the majority of them anyway.)
it should be easy for someone to get their tubes tied if they so choose.
let the mother (and father if he chooses) make and live with the choice, it’s none of our business. if you believe in god, then let him or her or it be the judge.

My opinion is that Federal’s head doesn’t belong in the womb period. This was a deceptive agenda to get more control of YOU. Nevertheless, there should be absolutely NO FEDERAL OR STATE FUNDING TO PLANNED PARENTHOOD whatsoever. I disagree with abortion. You’re terminating your own kid. The elite make enough per abortion case. There should also be no turning over or ’selling’ of body parts. It’s a disgusting procedure – there’s nothing medical about it – you’re tragically ending the life of a person. Let them exist as dive joints. They should also not be held liable for botch up. The whole thing is a botch up job. You decide to go do this – then these are the risks you take. God only knows there’s nothing ’safe’ about this from the mother and child’s perspective. The side effects to this are well-documented. Because the scissors are sterilized before they’re jammed into the child’s skull, during partial birth abortion, makes this ‘thriller’ a medically-safe procedure? Who in God’s name do you think you’re fooling?
If they want it out of the government hands, than there should be no hand-outs of any sort! Treat it like a dive joint. This may be the only way people think twice about what they’re doing.
Calling any ACT ‘medically-safe’ which decapitates and tears your own kid from limb to limb is a horrifying lie and served only as deceptive rhetoric to purposely twist a woman’s mind-set and brainwash her into handing over the $$$$ from the very beginning. Of course ‘HER PAYING’ FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO DESTROY HER OWN FLESH AND BLOOD is for ‘her own good’, says the multibillion dollar industry. Children are a gift from God. If you could never pay someone to come in and decapitate your child in the crib, then how could you do this while the child is in your womb? Think about it.

How sad that so many can be fooled or scared into killing their own babies. Sure makes the “final solution” that much easier if they can get us to kill ourselves off so effectively, and pay them for the service, too.
There are serious health risks that Planned Parenthood and these abortionists do not inform the public of; it is a serious risk to the woman’s life (as well as–clearly–the baby involved.) Anyone interested should look into the cancer rates in women who have had abortions, they are unusually high. Though, that’s just one of many terrible consequences, many are much more immediate.
I sure hope eyes are opened and men and women alike can see pregancy, babies, and family as the gift that they truly are.

Nobody has a right to decide what a woman does with her body.
Especially when they refuse to pay the 300K to raise the child.
Abortion on demand is the hallmark of a free society.
Murder is when you kill your child.
Murder is not an abortion because it is the mother who decides what is done with her body.
You have no right to impose your views or ideas on another unless you anti up the 300K first.

Of course Obama is willing to sign FOCA. He is eager to kill babies that survive a botched abortion attempt, legislation that even liberals like Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy refuse to support.
I understand neither liberals who protest war but advocate killing unborn innocents nor conservatives who protest abortion but support the war machine.

Have any of you actually read the supreme court docket on Roe v. Wade? It was not a decision that was arbitrarily arrived at because people want to kill babies. it was a real constitutional question. It involved the legal questions, When does a fetus become a “person”? Can this point that a fetus become a “person’ have a specific time that can be identified? Why not abort before or after? The court had 5 choices for when personhood begins, conception, neurological, quickening, viability, and birth. The chose viability , because if a child can survive outside of a womb, it is a person. So what rode v. wade did was say that first trimester abortion are completely legal, as that is a personal choice not involving any persons. In th second trimester the state has the ability to regulate abortions, and at the third trimester the state has complete control. It was a completely logical argument, not just ‘lets kill babies”. What i disagree with roe v. wade is that viability is now achievable at the second trimester, and that the states should be able to ban it since we are dealing with persons. But no American should be told that they cant have a first trimester abortion, as it has nothing to do with you, and does not involve another person, even though i completely disagree.
you can’t support states rights when it benefits you. If you are a so called “pro lifer’ (the term doesn’t even make any sense, its a blanket statement) then make a logical legal constitutional argument of why life begins at conception. Even though i agree with you, from a constitutional stand point women have a right to 1st trimester abortions.

I totally disagree with Tim and people like him, abortion on demand is actually the hallmark of a decadent society that has totally lost its direction, respect and morals. Abortion is also an extremely powerful tool of the NWO. Look at Planned Parenthood and the Gates family. They have no respect for working class families, that’s why they promote it so much. It need not cost 300k to raise a child either! Anyway, it is the best 300k you could ever spend. Having children and bringing them up to be intelligent, strong and independent is BY FAR the best way to fight the NWO.

When the solution to society’s problem is to kill its children then the society will eventually destroy itself. At least the Nazis and the Communists realized the value of children even if for their own selfish goals. The only way any organization survives is to have new members.
Only problem with these legal reasons for abortion [killing] is that the other party [the child] was not represented by council as guaranteed by the Bill or Rights, Article VI. Again the US Supreme Court [just more stinking lawyers] made a biological decision that the Bill or Rights did not apply to a child. I know everyone is screaming that it is not yet a child but you all know that it is. It has unique DNA and is separate from the mother. It is life because it is growing and gathering information from its environment.
Government tells us everyday what to do with our bodies. Get vaccinated, drink fluoride, don’t do these drugs, do these drugs, use your body’s labor to pay taxes, child support, etc. Never a peep out of hardly anyone but when it comes to preventing the killing of a child they want to scream freedom from government interference. If we had actual freedom in this hellhole of a country the birth of child would be a blessing and not considered a burden.

I am a single dad because mom did not want all the trouble. But, I thank the mom that she did produce my pride and joy. I have traveled and sailed the world and done and seen lots of things but nothing compares to my companionship with my daughter.
I scream everytime I hear the word teenage pregnancy. No one says 20’s pregancy or 30’s pregnancy. The teens is the best biological time for a woman to be preganant. Why has our society put such a negative stigma on pregnancy and children? Becaue the corporations want that woman in the work force and the corporations want the best years of the woman’s productivity to produce more widgets for more profit.
Yes, these same women that have abortions later see other babies and then wonder what theirs would have looked like and they start eyeing thier neighbor’s kid. Then they make a call to child protection services with some kind of allegation and probably will eventually end up with the neighbor’s baby. This is no joke. It happens several times a day in every city.

Too bad that being pregnant, being a parent, being a child is not as well accepted a lifestyle as gays and lesbians. Familiesm, parents and children, are now the most stigmatized and ersecuted group in American. We are the cause of high taxes and crime and every other social ill.

I had an abortion when I was a teenager — I knew it was wrong but I did it anyway. Today I would have a 30year old son/daughter, …maybe even grandchildren. What hurt the most is accepting the fact that the father did not love me enough to say “I love you and you can count on me”.
Abortions have occurred from the beginning of time. In Egypt during the time of Moses, Pharoah required the midwives — when a boy was born — to kill the child. In China today, due to the one-child per family law, many who live in rural areas, dispose of their newborns…mostly if they are girls. If a person does not have love for the child inside of them they will get rid of it — one way or another.
Children are a gift from God — we should treasure them and protect them. There are many special and beautiful people that will never live nor contribute to society because they were not given the chance. The baby is not given a choice. If anything, mom/dad should be penalized for their irresponsibility…the child has done no wrong nor did they ask to come into this world. I certainly don’t want my tax dollars paying for anyone’s abortion in the US or anywhere.
I do believe we who love Jesus and care about babies have failed — let’s take responsibility and be Good Samaritans. Those who are financially well off can start foundations to provide assistance. Stable families including the older generation can welcome a pregnant mom or mom/newborn into their home. Those that can do little (a bag of groceries, a gas card) can help to. Whether bringing them into our home or making a commitment to supporting them financially and emotionally. Let’s demonstrate what we all want to hear in a time of need… “I love you and you can count on me”.

If you really are against the NWO then you are for people having the right to choose what they want to do with their own body. These relgious debates are idiotic. Simply put no one wants anyone else telling them what they can or can not do with their own body. It is no one elses business whether a woman gets an abortion or not. If she wants one then that is her body and her decision. It is about FREEDOM!

Alas, nothing new. As for women, well, what can you say? Women, in the 20th century alone, have killed more children that all war’s, on this planet, to date, combined. And they did so indiscriminately, without cause or justification or trial, on whim or a choice not to be responsible. A woman, at least in our small, very, very small western culture, has more power over life and death than any nation has, or hopefully, will have. Sacrificing children for convenience alone, how despicable. Nothing left to say on that as the prior speak’s for itself. Deny it at your leisure, it won’t change the fact.
Which bring’s me to why I’m not a democrat. I believe in executing those who have committed murder with malice-aforethought, while I do not believe in executing unborn (read unborn here, which doesn’t change the fact that they are still babies, unborn or not) child for no reason other than that of convenience, regardless of the “excuses.” We are not different than past civilization’s in any respect other than, instead of killing these unborn children for religious reason’s, we are killing them simply because they are inconvenient agent’s who mitigate all future circumstances within our lives. I don’t care if it’s your body, it’s our children, regardless of whose body they inhabit. Taking the current argument of, “it’s my body,” into account, then men who do not want children should have a right to request that their seed, which fertalized the egg, be destroyed or they become relieved of all liability of the child’s welfare and future. Quite simply kill a child and you’re doing nothing different than any other murderer, state sanctioned or not, criminal or soldier, etc.
These are my belief’s, but I do not practice them. Logic tell’s me that we need a severe population control program, and we need it yesterday! Kill your children, sterilize your young women, as currently a voluntary program in the UK, before we have to mandate, by legislation, that you do so against your will. Don’t say you won’t allow us, you have just allowed us to do so for the past, at least, 150 year’s. You will conform or you will liquidated as so much discarded fetus’. Obfuscation, in and of itself, is the one weapon we have wielded against you, without fail, for so long. You “believe” you havea choice. You do not, you never have, and you never will. Patriot? Don’t make me laugh. What, the past billion’s of children’s death’s alone haven’t galvanized you into action yet? What the hell will? LOL!?!?! You write, we murder on a scale that would make any military logician envious. You write, we rescind you “inalienable right’s.” You write, we, in plain sight, TAKE your money, which you WILL Pay, creating a debt society that not even the most wealthy individual can rise above.
