The New York Times has lifted the lid on how Al Gore stands to benefit to the tune of billions of dollars if the carbon tax proposals he is pushing come to fruition in the United States, while documenting how he has already lined his pockets on the back of exaggerated fearmongering about global warming.

As is to be expected, the article is largely a whitewash and takes an apologist stance in defense of Gore.

However, the NY Times‘ John M. Broder does reveal how one of the companies Gore invested in, Silver Spring Networks, recently received a contract worth $560 million dollars from the Energy Department to install “smart meters” in people’s homes that record (and critics fear could eventually regulate) energy usage.

“Kleiner Perkins and its partners, including Mr. Gore, could recoup their investment many times over in coming years,” states the report, highlighting the fact that Gore is “well positioned to profit from this green transformation, if and when it comes.”

“Critics, mostly on the political right and among global warming skeptics, say Mr. Gore is poised to become the world’s first “carbon billionaire,” profiteering from government policies he supports that would direct billions of dollars to the business ventures he has invested in,” writes Broder.

Since he left office, Gore’s personal net worth has skyrocketed on the back of his advocacy for global warming issues and the financial dividends this has reaped. Gore’s assets totaled less than $2 million in 2001 and although he refuses to give a figure for his current net worth, a recent single investment of $35 million in Capricorn Investment Group, a private equity fund, illustrates just how fast Gore has enriched himself from his climate change bandwagon.

The Times report notes how Gore “has a stake in the world’s pre-eminent carbon credit trading market.” As we reported back in March, before he became President Barack Obama also helped fund the profiteers of the carbon taxation program that he is now seeking to implement as law.

The Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) has direct ties to both Al Gore and Maurice Strong, two figures intimately involved with a long standing movement to use the theory of man made global warming as a mechanism for profit and social engineering. Gore’s investment company, Generation Investment Management, which sells carbon offset opportunities, is the largest shareholder of CCX.

Maurice Strong, who is regularly credited as founding father of the modern environmental movement, serves on the board of directors of CCX. Strong was a leading initiate of the Earth Summit in the early 90s, where the theory of global warming caused by CO2 generated by human activity was most notably advanced.

Both Strong and Gore come from the Club of Rome clique, who in their 1991 Report, “The First Global Revolution” openly admitted how they were planning to exploit the contrived hoax of global warming in order to further their agenda.

“In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy then, is humanity itself.,” they wrote.

Gore’s defense against claims that he is peddling fearmongering about global warming to get filthy rich, and one dutifully supported by the NY Times’ whitewash report, is that he is simply putting his money where his mouth is.

However, Gore’s insistence that he is walking the walk, not just talking the talk, doesn’t seem to extend to his own private life in the context of energy conservation and CO2 emissions. While lecturing the world about reducing CO2 emissions and saving energy, Gore’s own mansion uses 20 times the energy of the average American home.

In February 2007, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research revealed that the gas and electric bills for the former vice president’s 20-room home and pool house devoured nearly 221,000 kilowatt-hours in 2006, more than 20 times the national average of 10,656 kilowatt-hours. These figures were not disputed by Gore.

“If this were any other person with $30,000-a-year in utility bills, I wouldn’t care,” said the Center’s 27-year-old president, Drew Johnson. “But he tells other people how to live and he’s not following his own rules.”

Global carbon taxes seem poised to replace global interest fees as the broad mechanism for resource extraction.

Before the elites permit the apparently inevitable wider inroduction of largely inexpensive or free alternative renewable energies, they seem to be selling a dubious and fragile global hoax (man-made global warming) to justify this new form of resource extraction from the public.

The interest-bubble based economics of the past that have kept the elites atop the human herd may not function in a world of reportedly shrinking hydro-carbon energy reserves that drive economics.

Peak Oil/Natural Gas seems to be the most plausible explanation for the most of the manufactured major “problem-reaction-solution” events of the past decade.

The problem is that these “politicians”, these self appointed miracle workers for all our social problems, have convinced us all that they are capable of actually solving them. Instead, their collective ineptitude has created problems that, were we able to attract a higher caliber of intellect from the private sector, we might actually be able to solve these problems. Truth be told, these dimwits couldn’t turn a profit at a popsicle stand; and I loved that story of Bush41’s first discovery that scanners were being used in grocery stores. Talk about being out of touch; it was a perfect example of how dissociated this “seemingly elected” blight on our Constitution is destroying our democracy.

Thus, these social miscreants create more problems than they can solve and expect the population to bear the burden of their corruption and stupidity. Rather than provide the common man with the basics for survival (health care being but one) and making an attempt to actually educate the population so that it feels empowered enough to participate in what we thought was a democratic process, this Washington cancer has only managed to partition itself into more power and sucking the population monetarily dry. A noble person, might lower his salary in accordance with the hardship around him and hopefully take a least a smidgeon of blame for the mess he might have created, but we don’t have noble people in politics because the majority of them are whores.

Had Gore organized the carbon credits to help the homeless or feed the starving and educate people to become part of the solution, I’d say the man was on a mission instead of using the situation to turn a profit, but so far, he’s only managed to do what Rumsfeld did by generating a Bird Flu scare while he was on board at Gilead; no conflict of interest there.

Gore has proven himself to be yet ONE MORE on a long and growing list of sleazy politicians whose sole motive is to position himself to profit off the misery of others. It is reprehensible that someone such as him would stand to become a billionaire over a issue that is sure to be a hardship for the world’s population. While I believe we do have a global warming problem, he has used this opportunity to show us his true colors.

I wonder if extraordinary rendition can be used on politicians.

Whenever someone starts to defend Al Gore or this man made global warming LIE, I have to ask them how a tax is going to fix it?

And more importantly. Where after all these years are the affordable Solar Panels to power most of our homes off of?
Where are the electric cars from the 1990’s that achieved up to 200 miles per charge before being ripped from those who leased them and were denied the ability to buy them as they crushed them here in Mesa, AZ into scrap just to keep them off the street?

Why is all cheap/free energy kept out of the consumer’s hands?

Because cheap/free energy = free people. And so far they haven’t made a lie good enough to believe we should pay taxes for the energy from the sun!!!

Interesting that the article says he was only worth 2 mil. in 2001. I had read several years ago that he was worth 200 mil. mostly in Occidental Petroleum. Look, you have now conceded everything but the peer review thing.

Now above I posted a LONG reply and it was deleted (I am very annoyed at this). But I will summarize.

Now the post I posted was a PEER REVIEWED random sample and it found NONE that disproved man made global warming. Now this IMMEDIATELY sould ring bells because even if these ‘peer reviewed’ posts were true they represent a vanishinly small part of the debate.

But then I started to randomly go through some. And NONE disproved man made global warming! For example go get a graph from anywhere that shows over the last 50 years solar activity has increased IT HAS NOT. Infact over the last 30 years it has decreased! Then there is the cosmic ray thing – again go get a graph over the last 50 years that shows cosmic rays have either increased or decreased… THEY HAVE NOT.

There is stuff completely unrelated to whether global warming is real like about polar bears – the consensus is they are declining (even if you factor in the increase because some areas have stopped hunting). And more than 20% of the worlds species are threatened and up to 70% by global warming but TOTALLY BIZARRELY the only thing that bonkers denialists focus on is polar bears – WHY?

And there is just plain insane stuff like that first article on CO2 levels – YOU ARE WITH THIS?

But lets cut to the chase, show me the article (because you wouldn’t be hypocritical enough not to have checked) that show that CO2 does NOT absorb long wave radiation… No?

So heat is therefore trapped bu CO2 and adding more CO2 will not trap more heat because… No?

And where it shows that CO2 has NOT risen by 30% over the last 30 year (after being stready for around 10,000)… No??

And what explains the energy imbalance from the top of the atmosphere where no more energy is going in yet LESS is coming out… No?

Why most of the increase in temperature is at night and winter (when it would be day and summer if it was the suns fault)… No?

Why during the time of the dinosaurs the temperatures were HIGHER yet the suns output was LOWER… No?

If you have the brains to read a study may I refer you to; “The Eddy Maunder”. The real cause of global warming AND cooling is the suns activity or lack thereof. This study goes back 4-5,000 years. It was based on core drillings from Bristle Cone Pines in the White Mts. of California. Oldest known living things. National Geographic had an article on it some 30-40 years ago. This is not true. Although I have seen a lot of new agers believe in global warming, once educated they snap out of it. New Age religion did not bring this on or has anything to do with global warming. New Ager people tend to have a big heart and sometimes gets duped, but usually not for too long!

Regardless, it was people that grew up out of the depression era that had it right. They conserved. They reused. They fixed old junk instead of buying new. They reused empty bread sacks. They reused paper towels. They drove big cars but often times did not go too far as they often walked around the block instead of driving it. These people watched t.v. for a purpose and turned it off when they were through.

These people were shunned by their sons and daughters who said “I didn’t have to live in the depression era, therefore I will do what I want”.

Why we can’t listen to our parents I don’t know.

Despite that, everything goes in cycles. It’s good to conserve. It’s not good to make everyone pay for it. The depression era people didn’t make anyone pay for them conserving… they just did it. They didn’t need government telling them what to do or how to do it.

All you must do to be saved is BELIEVE in Him(trust in Him to save you as a sinner). You must admit your lost sinful condition to Him/that you’re worthy of hell, and ask Him to save you by placing complete trust in Jesus ALONE for salvation(an example in the Word of someone doing this- “And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.” Luke 18:13).It is not even partly by yourselves that you can be saved, but only by the merits of Jesus Christ!

I said to my partner sitting next to me, “something stange is going to happen”, you just watch) exactlty 12 hours later, well, we all know what happened. ….. A strange case ofLife imitating Life! I think most of the population are waking up to all these ‘people’ in power. Problem is they’re steam rolling ahead regardless and we don’t seem to have a good plan on how to stop them. Our own lives are so full of fear and intimidation that we’re locked into our tiny matrix and can’t seem to find a way to break out.

Here in britain the Lisbon Treaty has been signed and ratified and the people are silently suffering because we’re furious but don’t know what the hell to do. After December 1 we’ll see what sort of entity Europe develops into, and I have my gut feelings it won’t be pleasant.

Meanwhile, I’ll be waisting as much fuel as I can afford as Al’s Gulfstream 550 sucks 3 lifetimes of fuel on one trip to Hollyweird.

As Al defends the polar bears (he talks to them he said) he should really get sterilized. That would do far more good and would prevent more future frauds from being raised by the Gores.
