Al-Qaeda Chief Al-Zawahiri Viciously Slams Iran
Neo-Cons to have a harder time pushing terrorist link after harsh rebuke

Neo-Cons are going to have a harder time equating the Iranian threat with 9/11 as the anniversary of the attack on America nears if the latest Al-Qaeda propaganda tape is to be believed. In a new broadcast, Al-Qaeda number two Ayman al-Zawahiri viciously attacks Tehran as “collaborators” with the United States in Afghanistan and Iraq.
“The leadership in Tehran is collaborating with the Americans in their occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan,” Zawahiri said in the extract broadcast by Al-Jazeera today, reports AFP.
“It recognises the subservient (to Washington) governments of these two countries, while at the same time pledging death and destruction to any state which dares touch Iranian soil,” added the Egyptian deputy to Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Zawahiri’s purported rebuke towards the Iranians is not going to sit well with supporters of John McCain, for it was the Republican nominee who attempted to blur the lines between Sunni and Shia back in March when he was corrected by Joe Lieberman after claiming Iran was training Al-Qaeda terrorists.
Speaking to reporters in Amman, the Jordanian capital, McCain said he and two Senate colleagues traveling with him continue to be concerned about Iranian operatives “taking al-Qaeda into Iran, training them and sending them back.”
Pressed to elaborate, McCain said it was “common knowledge and has been reported in the media that al-Qaeda is going back into Iran and receiving training and are coming back into Iraq from Iran, that’s well known. And it’s unfortunate.” A few moments later, Sen. Joseph Lieberman, standing just behind McCain, stepped forward and whispered in the presidential candidate’s ear. McCain then said: “I’m sorry, the Iranians are training extremists, not al-Qaeda.”
In reality, the two are arch enemies, Iran being a Shiite theocracy and Al-Qaeda being a Sunni Muslim organization.
But that has not stopped further claims of a relationship between Tehran and Al-Qaeda, made notably by the 9/11 Commission as well as other Neo-Con talking heads.
The build-up to the invasion of Iraq in March 2003 was similarly preceded by relentless claims on behalf of top Bush administration officials that Saddam Hussein was in league with Al-Qaeda.
In reality, “Saddam Hussein was distrustful of al-Qaeda and viewed Islamic extremists as a threat to his regime, refusing all requests from al-Qaeda to provide material or operational support,” according to a CIA report released in September 2006.
The report concluded that there were no formal links between Saddam Hussein and any Al-Qaeda leaders before the 2003 invasion.
With the anniversary of 9/11 just around the corner, we can expect Neo-Cons and Bush administration officials to continue to invoke the 9/11 victims as a pretext for propagandizing for a war with Iran – despite the fact that Al-Qaeda, the very group the U.S. government claims was responsible for 9/11, has now publicly scorned Tehran.

Betraying The Awakening Council

It’s assumed that the least members of the Awakening Council can expect for their sacrifices in fighting and expelling the Qaeda Organization, and their efforts in maintaining security in hell-like areas for the Americans and the Iraqi government, such as Fallujah, is recognition and inclusion in the ranks of Iraq’s security forces, making the matter an opportunity to achieve Iraqi reconciliation.
The survival of the Awakening Council’s Commanding Officer from a suicide car bomb assassination attempt a week ago in Kirkuk is just an example of what they face in their fight against the Al-Qaeda Organization.
However, what is happening is contrary to that. The Iraqi government is now forcing out and arresting elements of the Awakening Council and their leadership, despite the warnings of American military officials and their fear of an escalation of violence in Iraq.
However, it seems that al Maliki government and its affiliates have other things in mind. Jalal al Din al Saghir, a member of Iraq’s parliament and the Shia bloc stated that, “The State can not accept the men of the Awakening; their days are coming to an end.” While, Brigadier Nasser al Haiti, the commander of Al Muthanna brigade in the Iraqi army, goes further in describing the Awakening Council’s members as a, “cancer”, and that they must be “uprooted.”
Out of a hundred thousand Iraqi fighters who are members of the Awakening Council, only an approximate five thousand have been recruited by the Iraqi government into to the Army, despite the Council’s members being Iraqi, and having the upper hand in their fight against al Qaeda, while also maintaining stability in Iraq.
Acting deceitfully towards the elements of Council affirms the conviction that al Maliki’s government is not concerned with national reconciliation; otherwise, why would it use the cancer analogy and call for the Council’s uprooting?
If the Council’s leaders had decided to form militias to intimidate civilians, then there would have been just cause in stopping them and dividing their ranks. However, if the Awakening Councils are defending Iraqi unity and pursuing the terrorists’, then why are they being repressed instead of supported?
The transformation of the Awakening Council into a peaceful political force is naturally expected, since the democratic process is about collective participation under an umbrella of civil institutions. It is unnatural to deprive the Council from the right to peaceful political action and in the process suppressing, expelling and arresting its members.
Does the al Maliki government want to deal a blow to the fighting efforts against al Qaeda, or is it worried about seeing the emergence of a strong Sunni bloc in a similar way to Tehran’s worries about the rise of the Awakening Councils’ positive role in Iraq?
If suppressing the Awakening Council is what al Maliki wants, the Americans should be cautious. This simply constitutes a threat to their plans to stabilize the security situations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and is a dangerous message to whoever works for the stability of Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Shiite parties’ deceit of the Awakening in Iraq is a message to whoever is keen on stabilizing security in Baghdad and Kabul; Beware of cooperating with the Americans, or you will share the Awakening Councils’ fate.
If al Maliki’s government is acting from a narrow sectarian approach against the idea of a new Iraq, both the Iraqis and Washington should be more aware. Furthermore, acting with deceit against the Awakening Councils will be a real blow to the efforts of stabilizing security in Iraq.

If it is him then why isn’t he pointing out that all the other purported videos of him and Bin Laden are fakes, perhaps even that Bin Laden is dead and the Neo-cons have been manipulating the public with lies about his continued existence?

If this story surfaces on mainstream media, then one would have to assume it’s what our masters want us to hear. Perhaps the attack on Iran is off now and stories like this will provide cover for ratcheting down the rhetoric. Perhaps, what Zawahiri says is true and the US and Iran are secretly cooperating with respect to Iraq. The belicose threats on Iran being only for public consumption. So much BS has been put out there by the sewer hose of corporate media, only a fool would take what they say at face value. The best we can do is to read between the lines, look at alternative news, reports from other countries and try to piece together something that makes sense.

Mainstream media and alternative media simplify situations to suite their ‘theories’, in reality the conclusions are meaningless. Some questions.
1. At one time Tehran was backing both the Taliban and the North Western Alliance in Afghanistan?
2. Tehran has had active Al Quaeda operatives under ‘house arrest’ in Iran but they were still operative, i.e. had telephones and other freedoms?
3. Tehran will support any group that will cause chaos for the U.S. and Sunni and Shiite are able to work together when they have a common cause?
I believe yes is the answer to these questions….. but still seeking real information… and here I find it as simplified as the mainstream media (although sometimes a good point appears).

I spent some time in Saudi on the 70’s & 80’s when I was a kid, as my Dad had a job there in the oil industry. So I, like a lot of other people, know how much the Sunni’s and Shia hate each other. Their hatred dwarfs the hatred between Protestant and Catholics in the 15th,16th & 17th centuries. Either would rather work with their version of the devil (the west) before they would shake hands with each other.

It was Iran that invaded Afghanistan side by side with the US. It was Iran that invaded Iraq side by side with the US. For the longest time, this fact, widely understood by the experts, widely hidden by the mainstream media, was the reason so many seemingly informed people said that it was a nonsense that the USA intended to attack Iran.
HOWEVER…look to your recent history. Hitler teamed up with Stalin at the beginning of the real action of WW2, but Hitler had always made clear his intention to destroy the communist regime of his massive neighbour. Stalin knew this, but took the alliance willingly to buy time, and grab as much nazi tech and resources as possible (his price for joining the alliance). By the time Hitler was ready to strike, the communists had factories out of reach of the nazi bombers that could turn out the most extraordinary amounts of war machinery. When the nazi blitzkrieg faltered, Hitler had lost everything.
Iran is likewise attempting to turn the diabolical strength of the Earth’s most evil empire, the USA/UK/Israel, against the monster. Had it not acted thusly, it risked the USA carrying out genocide strikes against Afghanistan/Iraq, followed by the installation of regimes completely unfriendly to Iran. By working with the States, Iran shares moral responsibility for the murder of well over FIVE MILLION PEOPLE, but probably considers that far more would have died by now if it had allowed the States to go it alone in the first instance.
Iran is racing against time to create the only defence that works against genocidal psychopaths, the ability to promise the extermination of the psychopath if/when it strikes. This, of course, means nuclear weapons, and state of the art bio-weapons. However, Blair is working to ensure the doctrine of Mutually Assured Destruction will not inhibit the actions of the USA. I have to agree with what. There is a nebelous area here without great any solid scholarship. The ties should be cut from Paul Watson. The whole problem we have in America is trusting too deeply Eupropeans. Europeans have their own set of issues but they won;t hesitate to complain about us as if everything they do is innocent and never self-serving. Paul, shouldn’t you be spending your time freeing yourself from all the cameras and your inability to own a gun or for that matter protect yourself in anyway from someone attacking you without also having to go to jail? Seriously, like I want some Limey telling me what’s wrong with my own country when his far more f%&ked up than mine. Look imp Brittian and other Europeans have been trying to sabotage our country from the get go.
