Plan for mandatory state managed health system may be initiated

As if Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State wasn’t an unpopular enough appointment, consider that her likely alternative is to accept a role as a senior member of the Senate team aiming to overhaul the nation’s healthcare system, a fact that should set alarm bells ringing given her track record in this area.
Clinton was offered the role by Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.), who has announced plans to craft sweeping healthcare legislation next year.
Clinton has long pushed to expand the Federal government’s role in healthcare, indeed she made the issue a centerpiece of her presidential campaign.
A little over a year ago Hillary unveiled a $110 billion health care reform plan that would have required that all Americans have health insurance by law.
Clinton announced that under her presidency every citizen in the U.S. would have to enroll in a state-managed socialized health care system where regular check ups, including mental screenings, would be mandatory.
Hillary later remarked that anyone wishing to opt out of such a system would have their wages “garnished”.
When pressed on ABC’s This Week, earlier in the year, Hillary said: “I think there are a number of mechanisms” that are possible, including “going after people’s wages, automatic enrollment.”
Now she may have the opportunity to push the very same policy into practice.
The vision of an America where every citizen is forced by law to participate in health screenings overseen by the government should set off stark warning bells.
The level of micromanagement and the expansion of government into everyday life that this would entail represents the antithesis of the founding principles of a constitutional Republic and a free market.
It would create a government enforced legal requirement that everyone in America buy a product from a private insurance company.
There is also concern that such a mandate would be too financially burdensome for lower-income individuals and families.
(ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW)
If Hillary were to pursue such a plan it would offer expanded versions of two existing government programs: Medicare, and the health insurance plan currently offered to federal employees. Consumers have a choice between either government-run program.
Clinton previously proposed covering the cost of such a plan by ending tax cuts to people who make more than $200,000 per year.
Clinton has said that such a reform in the healthcare system would ensure lower premiums and higher quality, and lessen the power of drug and insurance companies over healthcare choices. This is difficult to believe however given that Hillary has recently enjoyed a fruitful relationship with powerful health care groups, drug companies, insurance companies and their lobbyists.
Furthermore, what incentive will there be for big pharma to control prices of legally required consumer purchases?
During her tenure as First Lady, Clinton was also at the forefront of a similar and extremely unpopular socialized medicine plan that became known by critics as “Hillarycare“.
One editorial in the Washington Post by University of Virginia Professor Martha Derthick stated:
“In many years of studying American social policy, I have never read an official document that seemed so suffused with coercion and political naivete … with its drastic prescriptions for controlling the conduct of state governments, employers, drug manufacturers, doctors, hospitals and you and me.”
U.S. Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan added “anyone who thinks [the Clinton health care plan] can work in the real world as presently written isn’t living in it.”
The plan ultimately collapsed under the weight of opposition and the fact that the Republicans won the 1994 mid terms.

Japan has a government run health care system which i am required by law to pay every month. I am very angry that I have to pay for some else`s health care issues. Several Japanese have told me that they also do not like the system. When going to a hospital in Tokyo expect to wait for several hours to see a doctor who could care less what your problem is. He/she just looks are the chart does a few very basic checks and then writes you a script for a drug way too powerful for your medical situation. This is what my fellow Americans have to look forward to if they beg for government run health care.

I’m a little more concerned about what Bush and his cronies are doing with the $700 billion a week ago rather than what Hillary might do a year from now.

Socialized medicine has (and is) producing the best systems in the world.
France, the UK, Germany, Canada, Australia, even Cuba have socialized systems that have ranked higher than the American system for well over a decade now.
The fact that Hilary Clinton is the one to propose it, and push it forward into practice should set off some alarms, however, I do agree.
Garnishing wages for those who opt out? This is ludicrous. There should be no opt-out. Everyone pays in, and everyone gets covered. That’s the very foundation of the system. Sure, not every Frenchman or Canadian are happy with the current system, but knowing that you’re covered, your home, car, and savings cannot be expunged by insurers who refuse to honor a policy.
My father had brain cancer and had severe epileptic episodes in the aftermath. Even if my family had top of the line insurance, the deductible (which there isn’t one in Canada) would have been a crushing blow. Cancer treatment, chemo, chemo drugs ($275 for 8 pills! Eight!), anti-seizure meds, plus physio would have not only bankrupted my parents, but perhaps the entire extended family to have had the proper health care my old man needed at the time.
I highly doubt Clinton is being benevolent in her healthcare crusade, but Americans have been subject to anti-socialized medicine for a long, long time. I’m 25, and I still remember Reagan decrying Canada’s system as a backwater, hillbilly-doing-surgery operation.
Do a bit of research, you’ll realize you’ve got the worst healthcare system in the Western world, and the only reason you’re not on top is because you haven’t followed a British or French model. Not all the best ideas are American, and your exclusionary privatized system benefits the rich, hampers the middle class with, cripples the poor, and does absolutely nothing for those with nothing.
“The measuring stick of any society can be seen by the way in which they handle the poorest of their lot.”
Hilary-devised, or not, socialized medicine in American to take care of the sick, the hungry, & the poor will do so much to change my view of how Americans take care of their own.

Government’s primary function is to secure, protect and enforce monopolies.
First and foremost, they protect their own monopoly and viciously fight any opposition to their rule.
Second, they protect the monopoly of their financial beneficiaries: the central bank. They make sure that their central bank is allowed to run their scam in exchange for their cut.
Subsequently, they enforce all manner of coerced commercial activity. This is just another example.
Forced to pay health insurance and visit a doctor? You couldn’t drag me to see a modern drug dealer…excuse me…medical doctor. If they don’t prescribe drugs, they recommend surgery. If there’s nothing wrong with you they run some tests and warn you that something could soon be wrong with you so be sure to come back for your next check up.
If you’re fed up with being treated like a subhuman herd animal, stop acting like one. Stop running out to vote in elections like a brainwashed primate, stop listening to the grinning idiots on TV, stop using their money and stop supporting their system.
Don’t fight the system:
Replace it

Doctors are the leading cause of death, so I’m sure this will help with the depopulation!! Let’s face it, how many doctors would there be if they got paid normal salaries? Most are ditto-heads who swallow every bit of crap spoon fed to them by the pharmaceutical devils. And ooh, they worked soo hard learning that they get swelled heads and are convinced they are right and we are all dummies. What we all need are decent nutritionists.

Hillary Clinton is the only American with power since Lyndon Johnson who, with her health care plan of the early nineties, has sought to do something good for the American people. Why must this fact now be distorted and spun – even on this website?

We need one payer health care now. The current controllers of our health care are using it to redistribute wealth into the pockets of the one percent who, of course, also own the medical insurance companies. Common people literally start handing over everything they have, or will ever have, to save a sick loved one. We will play hell wrestling away whats left of what we still have. This medical insurance scam is a sure fire way for these people to eventually get all the wealth in the nation. Then they will rent to us at even more exorbitant prices than they already do. I don’t trust Hillary. She has taken too much money from these folks. The people in Washington are more worried about the super wealthy than they are about the rest of all us. This is very strange. However, I believe Hillary lost because of Michael Moore showing how she let us all down when she was first lady and dealing with the Med Insurance Mob. That is the reason I never considered her for President after what Mike showed us about her. Maybe now she will consider that the people should be considered first. I doubt it though. We have to continue the fight and we have to figure out how to save the Internet so we can continue to have access to each other and real news.

Just now wrote a bit about health-care in Holland, dangers & how else:
http://blogger.xs4all.nl/joshb.....25574.aspx
I notice the above piece has some typically American simplistic economics ideas that always think free-market = freedom, which is … superficial & wrong. Things are more complicated then Americans tend to think (do you think ? come on admit it: when was the last time you really thought hard and long about how the entire medical system should work, and not merely shot some slogans from the hip you heard from somewhere else that you without thinking though to represent “the good guys” ?) Things aren`t that easy, I analyzed it as such: privatized health care with far reaching control over treatment can be deadly for high cost patients.
Economics is more complicated then Americans … assume. Think that is pro-NWO word trickery ? Sure you do, because you don`t think ! Is HC plan bad ? Of course it is bad, because it comes from the wrong people. Those check-ups are bad. But in principle nationalized health care WITH A REAL DEMOCRATIC PROCESS (that you don`t have) is a good thing, at least better and has a lot of potential.
Health care is a very difficult field of economics IMHO, easily the most difficult. You need some kind of mix of all privaitized & nationalized. But nothing will work under tyrannical government which is what you are starting to have. Maybe you shouldn`t have though of yourselves as the UBERMENSCH, and taken a little more example from more advanced democracies in the world then yours, with its pathetic “winner takes all and puppet King Elect with Great Power.”

So you would prefer that the system stay the way it is now, as compared to universal health care for everyone? ………… you all understand the the United States currently has one of the worst Health care systems in the world? Your still in the stone ages health care wise and you don’t want free medicine? because you think they will get you with their brainwashing vaccines? well if they wanted to do that they would have done it already, and have in fact done it already? now your afraid…….. just like your supposed to be, afraid to drink your water, afraid to breath your air, afraid to accept medicine. It looks like its game over now they have us from every angle, with chips inside our bodies and satellites that can read our thoughts. Poisonous water, infected air and an army of zombie policemen…. looks like its almost that time to start over again!
