David Davis sounds like one of those dumbed down Americans who think it’s patriotic to always root for the home team.
I got news for you buddy. War isn’t a football game. Our lives and liberties are at stake.
Our country threatened war with the USSR when they tried putting bases in Cuba. Now, it is the height of arrogance and stupidity to think we should establish bases on Russia’s border.
The Democratic/Republican Empire is as evil and corrupt as the empires that came before it (the Third Reich included), and if we American citizens don’t put a stop to it soon, we will self destruct like all the rest.

If you wanna reach back into history selectively then the debate is mute, but if it is open season on history you need to look back further than the Iranian hostage situation (70’s), to about 1952-1954 when Moussadeq (Then Iran’s leader) nationalized the oil fields in Iran, taking them from British control. Then the Cia overthrew him and installed the Shah, who killed his own ppl mercilessly. It was over time and in reaction to that act, that the Iranian ppl eventually became angry, angry enough to overthrow the Shah…who had returned the oil fields to British/American control. After the removal of the Shah, the Iatola Khomeini was elected, for his radical views. An emotional response to the murder of thousands and thousands or Iranians under the shah. The Iatola then proceeded to use terrorism to fight, but to fight BACK. You have to understand the cause of hatred to effectively disarm it. Adding to it does not accomplish this. Meanwhile their empire continued to expand. No doubt Finland,Poland, Hungary, ad infinitum, were all puppets of the US attacking the defenseless “Rodina”. Im sure Mossadeqs increasing moves to the left and anti americanism had nothing to do with our policy to him. Alex’s buddys in Iran killed more Iranians in a month than the shah did in decades. as to PBS i suppose you thought there Vietnam mini series was a shining piece of objective journalism. By the way I Know war is not a picnic,. My brother was wounded in Vietnam by your and Alexeis buddies, while your friends here in American were by subsidised by the Cpusa to wave their little Ho Flags and little red books. David.Questioning your goverments intentions doesnt make you a traitor,it makes you a concerned and involved citizen.Going along with whatever unconstitutional and illegal activities our goverment engages in,is the true treason.Dissent is American and patriotic,thats what the constitution has secured for us.It makes me ill to hear asswipes,like you,who slander someones patriotism because they don’t blindly follow a criminal goverment.And why do you think mobs march thru the streets,chanting “Death to America”,could it be our unjust foreign policy?They dont hate us for our freedom,they hate our imperialistic ventures throughout the world.

Heck…you don’t have to even go back that far, Hist-101. You only need to go back to the 90’s when Bill C. spoke about “leveling the economic playing field”. He elaborated on that by saying that the impoverished nations will be brought up while the prosperous nations will be brought down. Truly a formula for a one world gov’t, this gov’t is practically in the final stages of dismantling a once sovereign, economic empire. One of the ways they are accomplishing this, is to make it a popular choice worldwide. In other words, they are working overtime at destroying whatever is left of a once great reputation. When this country finally emerges as the real shitheads of the planet, it will be a done deal.
Davis thinks that’s kinda neat.

The only part of what you said which is relevant to my response directed at you was as follows -

So, we were threatened by Iran at that point, due to their “move to the left” and “increasing anti-americanism”? Did they posses an army capable of confronting us, or doing severe damage to us? Maybe they could (and did) to our economic interests in THEIR sovereign territory…but it’s their land, and it was their oil fields. Of course they did not threaten us, which is why the removal was done by an orchestration, rather than a confrontation. (But apparently even THEN, it boiled down to oil.) If that’s the case, then could it be said that any nation or leader which “moves to the left” (or perhaps to the right, or any deviation from the course “we” dictate they should follow) or has “anti amreicanism” should be deposed? China? Russia? North Korea? Cuba? Venezuala? Iraq? Iran? Afghanistan? Checz Republic? Ad infinitum. Those are some big foes, and a lot of em…considering we’re getting our asses whipped by a bunch of rag tag insurgents with homemade bombs on a shoestring budget. You should get a glass of water along with that rationale – since you will obviously bite off more than you can chew and choke. We’re not winning in Afghanistan, or Iraq (winning, lol). If Russia couldn’t take Afghanistan in 10 years of siege, with their proximity to it, and ease of deployment…what makes you think we can? What makes it worse is WE (CIA…again) trained Afghanistan militants (Al-Queda, Bin Laden in particular was a CIA “asset” before he was a CIA “liability”) to fight off the Russians, and now that training,weaponry, and hard earned tax payer funding is biting us in the ass (not to mention 9-11, assuming the official conspiracy theory is the correct one). Apparently the enemy of my enemy may eventually piss me off by deviating from the predestined path I’ve chosen for him, so he isn’t my friend, and I shouldn’t train him or he may kick my ass next. What did i buy into again? Masochism…or common sense? Examine your rhetoric. Peace…

They have every right to be very suspicious, what are NATO warships doing in the Black Sea, Why did we send the U.S. Coast Guard to Georgia!?!?!? That’s “COST GUARD” as in, for our COAST. Revolt426, to be technically correct, the “Coast Guard” has a long history of being the “first one’s in”.
The Coast Guard does not simply guard America’s coast, they are operationally a unit assigned to any given “coastal area” in a conflict. They are specialized in this regard.
It might not be terribly relevant, but I just wanted to make that distinction clear.
