looks and the rolling eyes from those who refuse to remove their heads from the sand.

Listening to many Federal Agents (whether they be IRS, ATF, FBI or any other agency), those of us who are angry at their abuse of power, their contempt for the Constitution (most of these agencies have no Constitutional authority to operate) or their ungrateful attitudes towards we the taxpayers who fund their illegal activities apparently are kooks or just angry little people. Too many of them have apparently operated all their adult lives within a police state as the privileged authoritarians wielding power with little if any accountability. Accountability to the Federal Government means that if a citizen actually proves his or her case for having been abused, they will be paid off with taxpayer dollars; the individuals responsible for the abuse will most likely be promoted to the next highest level of incompetence.

In fact, most Federal Agents, politicians and bureaucrats that have hijacked our political system view our anger at their outrageous behavior with contemptible and condescending sneers, or at best, they seem genuinely confused. Many have the attitude that they are not public servants but in fact they belong to a special authoritarian class who, by attaining their government jobs, have become elevated above the masses who pay their salaries. Others, while believing they are public servants, believe that we are all to be treated as nothing but subservient cattle to be robbed and controlled from cradle to grave.

Perhaps it is that we do not understand what freedom means any longer in this nation. I remember being in the theatre and watching Braveheart and later, The Patriot and hearing the cheers as the heroes of these movies fought for freedom. Unfortunately, while I am sure most people understand the concept of freedom, they have a hard time applying this abstract to their lives as American citizens.

I hear a lot of empty, hollow and jingoistic slogans being hurled around on the radio and across the net about freedom, how our troops are fighting for our freedom in Iraq. I question just how the war in Iraq is going to do anything to reverse the course of our totalitarian government and it’s quest for total control of our every thought and deed. I am convinced that many people toss the word freedom around because it is an emotive more than a statement of ideology.

But it is the assault on our freedom that has outraged and enraged so many of us who are capable of critical thought and see life in clear terms. Those of us who truly understand freedom, that it is a gift from God, become justifiably angry when mere mortals attempt to rob us of this precious commodity. Perhaps this is the problem, that we believe freedom to be a gift from God and the police state and its authoritarian footsoldiers see it is a privilege that government grants. For the record, God gives freedom and government is supposed to guarantee it.

Sadly, many churches today do not teach the concept that rights come from God, rather they teach a perverted form of Caesar worship.

In the time of the Roman empire, the Romans had a deviously clever system for subjugating a people. They would allow them to keep the icons and symbols of their culture, especially religious ones, under one important provision. All these icons, symbols and religions had to swear loyalty to Caesar and acknowledge that Caesar was God. In fact, there was an official method of obtaining this fealty from every religion and the practitioners of that religion, they had to get a Certori or Certificate. In other words, religion was fine so long as it was government approved, meaning that it officially sanctioned, endorsed and was subservient to Rome.

This situation is not at all unlike what we see today in “Christian” America. At one point in our nations history, any church which did not loudly proclaim that God was supreme and sovereign above all would be considered heretical and any politician who dared attempt to sublimate the church to the will of government would find himself faced with hordes of angry church members, led at the forefront by courageous pastors. Today, all government has to do is issue a proclamation that blasphemously denigrates the authority of God and his law, and the modern day pulpiteers will race one another to see who can bow down and kiss the feet of government.

It is time again in America for us to have a sense of outrage, moral outrage as our freedom, a precious gift from God is being stripped from us. Perhaps if we make it clear that this freedom comes from God himself, our Federal “servants” will understand that they are not appointed as our lords and masters but as guardians and guarantors of our God given, inalienable rights.

Join me on June 14th at Washington On The Brazos State Park in Texas from 10AM to 5PM for the Constitution Party’s annual conference. I promise you this will not be the usual political rally where we re-hash the same old solutions. We have set as our goal the same standards as our Founding Fathers and pray God help us we achieve them lest our nation continue to spiral downward into a totalitarian police state.

Police State: Unjustified Anger

By Al Lorentz

Pigeon holing is a mental tool used by the ignorant to help them disregard information, ideas and people whom they are incapable or unwilling to understand. A good example of pigeon holing is to declare flippantly that anyone who believes any sort of conspiracy whatsoever as some sort of kook. Never mind that history is replete with proven conspiracies and that a conspiracy is merely two or more individuals conspiring together for any means. Mention the word conspiracy and you will get the condescending
