  • Angry Cindy Sheehan exits Judiciary hearing

    Nick Juliano
    Raw Story
    Friday, July 25, 2008

At several points in Friday’s Judiciary Committee sort-of-almost-not-really impeachment hearing, members of the audience erupted in applause after one of the dozen-plus witnesses delivered a particularly incendiary indictment of President Bush.

The committee’s Republicans were none too amused by these displays, and they whined several times that such outbursts were inappropriate. Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX), the committee’s ranking member, at one point asked Chairman John Conyers to clear the hearing room after one particularly rousing ovation from Code Pink activists. They were responding as author Vincent Bugliosi outlined his case that the Justice Department should bring first degree murder charges against the president for illegally invading Iraq.

Conyers decided not to boot the boisterous activists from the room, but he did remind the entire audience to refrain from any demonstrations of approval or disapproval of the proceedings. Less than an hour later, Bugliosi, a former Los Angeles County prosecutor who recently wrote The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder, fired up the crowd again.

    (Article continues below)

“By taking this nation into war on a lie, all of the killings of American soldiers in Iraq became unlawful killings, and therefore murders,” Bugliosi said.

Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan had been sitting in the crowd, and she shouted, “Thank you Vince.”

Conyers seemed flustered, reminding Sheehan and others that some “members are urging me to take more action than merely reminding our audience,” before trying to move on to the next witness.

“I urge you to take action,” said Sheehan, who is among the most visible activists pushing for impeachment. After losing her son in the Iraq war, Sheehan became famous for her roadside vigil outside Bush’s Crawford ranch in the summer of 2005, and she has mounted a long-shot bid to unseat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in this year’s election.

“OK then, Sheehan, you’re out,” Conyers said, but the northern California native was already on her way out the door.

    “I’m going,” she said. “Good-bye.”

Conyers sure has shown his true strips. I’m sure a good friend of is, the late Martin Luther King, is turning over in the grave.

    4. mar Says:

SHEEHAN-”Oh and Thanks for killing my son!”
CONYER-”Ok, uh, uh ,uh, yer welcome…can I have my uh, ice cream now?” fucking idiot! What a fucking embarrassment!

    6. Prinzowhales Says:

Conyers is a crack whore…the Oligarchy fills his pipe with Federal Reserve Notes and he blows smoke up his constituents’ backsides.

It wasn’t so long ago that Conyers was baying for impeachment, but,–damned cowardly dog that he is–when the game finally came into reach, the vile creature yelped and turned tail when Pelosi pulled the leash.

    7. LibertyVideos.com Says:

Conyers sounds like he is “medicated” or something. He talks soooooo sloooooooooow.

    8. Persephone Says:

      Anyone else feel a draft?

    9. JR Says:

OK, Conyers is doing some serious drugs or alcohol…A multiple stroke victim has better speech than he does! WTF??!!!

It’s so obvious this is all headed for a chaotic, disastrous scenario!

    10. JQD Says:

Why aren’t the sovereign American people formally charging Conyers and other politicians with treason against the Constitution and for dereliction of their duties and responsibilities as public SERVANTS???

    11. Roy Says:

      fax conyer’s at 313-226- 2085 or (washington) 202-225-5126
tell him to grow a pair and stand up for the constitution.
he would be a grave disappointment to King for his obvious crumbeling.
      DOB’T RE-ELECT ANY OF THE TRAITORS !!
kick them all out of office !

    12. raleigh Says:

      Hey vote these coverup/conspirators OUT!!!

    13. AJM Says:

Vincent Bugliosi is a good man.

    14. AJM Says:

We should all remember that atleast Conyers allowed the impeachment hearing to take place, aswell as allowing the witnesses to give testimony. It felt so good hearing Vincent Bugliosi’s testimony!

The next step is to ACTUALLY impeach George Bush and remove him from office.

I feel so happy knowing that evidence was brought to the attention of the House of Representatives that George Bush committed murder. I didn’t think this day would come.

    15. fydo Says:

Thank you Vince,I loved it.Finally some signs that the truth may eek out. That Rep. Steve King from my State of Iowa has his nose so far up Bushs’ ass he could count the kernels of corn he had for dinner. That cocksucker should go back to writing horror stories.LOL…I would prefer someone bash in the head with something hard and heavy, fucking sellout!GOD DAMN THE NWO!

    16. Del Says:

Arron Russo, Alex Jones, Dennis Kucinich, Mr. Bugliosi, whow. Willie Nelson and Jesse Ventura are cooking something up too. Let’s get this message going. I say “YARD SIGNS & BUTTONS”, I don’t mow my yard without my “911 WAS AN INSIDE JOB” button, my yard sign reads: “IMPEACHMENT IS PATRIOTIC”. I am waiting for the day I always run into someone else wearing a shirt or anything of the sort. “SOMEDAY”

    17. Howard Says:

The Dems got Nixon and the ‘Pubs got Clinton. There will be no more inklings of justice emanating from the bowels of Congress. The table is set and the proletariat is the main course. Will the real Mr Nero/Caligula/Domitian please sit in the emperor’s throne.

The revolution devours its own children.

      Let the games begin.

    18. Bilbo Baggins of Bag End Hobbiton Says:

Where else can you go in the news media to get this kind of coverage of this historical event???

      Prison Planet rocks.

But I do have one criticism of it Alex…not enough shots of Britney getting out of her limo without any panties on.

    19. Jim Says:

If they do go ahead with impeachment it will just be another distraction and bush will be the fall guy, big deal, he will most likely get a slap on the wrist as he retires in his paraguay palace. Don’t you get it? Politicians are the front men and women, there to take the heat for the real players behind the scenes.

    20. Riders of Rohan Says:

Bush will never be impeached. I echo Howards thoughts. I mean really, how ridiculous is it to impeach Clinton (all though he is down for new world order) for lying about consensual sex, but then not even seriously entertain holding Bush accountable?

    21. xyz Says:

Is Conyers an idiot? He sounds brain dead? Tell him to stop smoking weed before these hearings….

    22. Tball Says:

Conyers is not an idiot is is a traitorous pussy bowing down to Satan and his punk ass minions in Washington DC.. Please people WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!! The fight for our very lives is around the corner and not only yours but your children and children’s children. Remember a punk ass coward dies a thousand deaths but a hero dies but one.

    23. Jr Says:

Conyers is like most scumbag politicians in DC – blackmailed and bribed by the Jews.

The Bush family has several pending lawsuits against them by Israelis for war crimes during WWII for the 100 million to build 5 labor camps. The Israelis own the Bush family by holding off those lawsuits that could wipe them out financially. Bush invades Iraq, stops Saddam from selling oil in Dinars, pipelines Iraqs oil to Hafia Israel and Bush has a free pass.

The Jewish crime syndicate took over America by gaining control of the money system and using the theft of your money through inflation to take control of the press, government, etc. Now they are using your children as cannon fodder.

    24. James Says:

He isn’t a idiot He got his 30 pieces of silver. He doesn’t care about right or wrong but atleast His ass is going to burn in hell… Traitor selling out his own people for money..

    25. dave Says:

Frankly, most of the people making these comments sound like idiots. Conyers supports impeachment. He isn’t against it. Just because he doesn’t want to conduct a hearing like an episode of the Jerry Springer show doesn’t make him a jew luvvin commie pinko bastard, or whatever the hell you nutburgers think.

    26. Battle with out humanity or honor Says:

Maybe he should smoke more weed before any hearing lol

    27. Eri5n Says:

Gotta remember… Conyers has a most extrodinarilly difficult job. I can hardly believe he’s able to do it… but he IS doing it. The hearing yesterday had emotional tension simply running off the chart. The KingSmiths in the room where so completely outnumbered… they might have gone home yesterday evening to thank their lucky stars… that they actually made it home yesterday evening.

Conyers has a very difficult job. This is the biggest story to break in American history, but we don’t what America to break in the telling of it. I applaud John for his countless signals sent to the [mostly] silent majority… while giving the real minority a feeling of hope that they’ll get to keep their scrotius for a little longer.

    28. ed kriner Says:

Did you all really think the Patriot Act(s) were designed to protect Americans from “extremists”? No, they are the ultimate destination of Nixon’s “enemies list”. Data mine Pelosi and her husband and it doesn’t take long to see why impeachment is “off the table”. Monitor Conyers personal e-mails and phone calls and it doesn’t take long to realize why he talked so much crap when he had no power and acts this way once the so-called loyal opposition took power.

I note that the “Constitutional scholar” running for President voted for as many Patriot Acts as he could and why he supports Bush’s FISA requirements. Two sides of the same old National WarParty at work.

      Strike/Boycott 08!

    31. mark Says:

All I can say is …What a shame we have no representatives who have the decency to do their jobs. Conyers is a TRAITOR to the American People plain and simple. He spoke and even wrote in the past of impeachment and gave all the reasons and evidence to carry it out. NOW, he stonewalls it. If he can’t handle the job he needs to step down. I am sure there is plenty of rope at hand for these treasonous bastards. I’d gladly volunteer to kick the chair out from under each and every one of them.

    32. Justiceuk Says:

For gawds sake, we all need to watch the google film ‘The Century of the Self’, know your enemy and how to use their own tactics against them – or to counter them.
Its hardto watch this as they BRAG

    33. Butch Says:

if we can hang the front men, there won’t be as many traitors lining up for the jobs. it’s our responsibility to protect America
screw the representatives that can’t or won’t.outlaw corporate funding for all political offices, starting with the local offices, get involved RAISE HELL !! keep all the bums from running.

    34. Rob Says:

Conyers is not ALL the problem. Nancy Pelosi is the Problem.

I heard that she threatened Conyers with removal of his position from the Judicial Committee if he colored the hearings as an Impeachment hearing.

Nancy Pelosi IS committing a crime by Obstruction of Justice when you have these kinds of complaints and she THREATENS members who try to investigate the complaints.

She MUST be removed from office as well, and, in my opinion, charged with AIDING AND ABETTING the war criminals Bush and Cheney.

    35. lori Says:

      Conyers = COWARD

    36. disappointed in Ron Paul Says:

I met Ron Paul last night in Boone,NC (7/25/08). When an audience member asked what his opinion was about the impeachment hearings that day, the audience roared with applause regarding the question. Paul nonchalantly said – to paraphrase – “we only have one more month left, this has been going on for a long time, blah, blah, blah.” Pretty unsupportive of Kucinich’s impeachment hearings. I cannot tell you how completely disappointed I am in Ron Paul. Oh, he was real proud to support the impeachment of Clinton, but when it comes to a war criminal/mass murderer, he doesn’t care? I guess the doctor was a nut after all. What a fuckin phony!

    37. MARIA Says:

Nancy Pelosi has committed so many crimes that if Bush goes down so does she. Of course she dosn’t want Bush impeached. I pray to God that she looses to Cindy. As for Conyers, he’ll get his too. He knows of the illegal war in Iraq & Afganistan then he is an accessory after the fact, so he’s going down too.

As for Ron Paul, in reference to the impeachment…..he’s worried that if Bush does get impeached he’ll just committ another false flag terror attack and declair Martial Law.
