Anti-War Website Operator Threatened By Armed Thugs

The operator of a leading alternative news and strongly anti-war website has become the target of nefarious thugs apparently in the employ of the U.S. government who have continually harassed him and ordered him to shut down his website.
Tom Feeley, owner and editor of InformationClearingHouse.info, has endured public harassment, home invasions, death threats and threats to his family simply for running a website.
Counterpunch writer Mike Whitney has circulated an e mail describing what happened to Feeley in an attempt to draw attention to the matter.

Whitney writes that earlier this week Feeley’s wife was startled to suddenly discover three well dressed men standing in her kitchen who told her that Tom must “Stop what he is doing on the Internet, NOW!”
To emphasize the point, the thug pulled back his jacket to reveal a gun while barking out the warning.
Tom’s wife was hysterical and refuses to go back to the house. She contacted the FBI but was told there was nothing they could do.
According to Whitney, “The well-dressed man told Tom’s wife that he knew where her son lived, what line of work he was in, and how many children he had.”
Subsequently, two men in a parked car a block from Tom’s mother’s house were spotted using laptops and sped off when they were approached by Tom’s son.
A similar incident had happened four years previously, when Feeley was approached by a stranger in the parking lot of Long’s Drug store in Southern California, after being forced to remain in his car by an accomplice who blocked him from opening the car door. The man told him, “You need to stop what you are doing on the web”.
Tom said the man was overweight and had his shirt untucked. Tom was taken aback, but (after collecting himself said) “What the fuck? Who do you think you are telling me what I can do?”
The man answered, “Tom, I’m just giving you some good advice. You should take my advice, Tom.”
Alex Jones has experienced similar intimidation tactics on several occasions in the past, particularly the scenario that happened to Tom in the parking lot as well as thinly veiled threats against his family.
In every single instance, the best response is to stand up and be vocal in the face of such harassment. Mafia-like thugs only continue to feed on those who put up with such treatment. The most dangerous thing to do is cower and acquiesce to the will of tyrants.
These kind of tactics will only succeed if the thugs think their actions can have any kind of effect. Every time someone in our movement is intimidated or harassed, we should respond only by re-doubling and intensifying our efforts.
I’ll tell you this about Tom Feeley; he is no bullshitter,” writes Whitney, “He is the “real deal” and completely committed to exposing the mob that is presently running our country. He does not understand why, (as he says) “They are reaching down SO far to get someone who just runs web site”. But, the truth is, they are. Someone wants him to “shut up” and they apparently have the muscle to do it. He knows he is in danger.”
Feeley is ditching his cellphone and maintaining a low profile but to his credit, refuses to cave in to the threats and will continue to publish his website.
Drawing attention to Feeley’s situation is of paramount importance to ensure his protection and also to combat head on attempts to create a chilling atmosphere and intimidate journalists and website publishers.

Not that I don’t think the government would stoop that low, but isn’t it rather convenient for other news sites to start running stories about a specific site ‘getting targeted by the government’?
I mean, in my mind, if it’s true, then obviously he’s got something on that site they don’t want out there. And if that story was the first I’ve heard of it, you’d bet your ass I’d start hitting that site daily.
The gov has plenty of power, sending some random thugs doesn’t seem like something they’d do alot. they can mess with your social security, get you fired, get the irs on you. The government has unlimited resources to fuck with someone, why send a few ‘well dressed’ thugs into the house?
home security system with web cams recording to an offsite location would be my suggestion. Then you’ll have some video of the guys.
Until then, this is a publicity stunt in my eyes, and one done in fairly bad taste.

Let’s review. This started four years ago and he’s startled because it’s still going on. Someone broke into his house; threatened his wife with a gun and he does nothing to protect her except call the FBI. What’s wrong with that picture?
Why didn’t he:
(1)Buy a gun and get a concealed carry permit four years ago?
(2)Buy his wife a gun and teach her how to use it?
(3)Put a cheap security camera with a recorder on his property?
(4)Start a block watch with his neighbors, since they seem to do this with regularity?
(5)Stand ready to gun down the MF’s?
Where the heck does this guy live that he can’t keep someone out of his house, someone who shows up on a regular basis? If a burglar breaks in once, you don’t expect it, but this has been happening for four years and he’s never been able to catch them? B.S.! In just about any place in America those men would be dead on the living room floor the second or third time they showed up. I don’t know where he lives, but here in Arizona you don’t even have to tell them to leave first. You can blast away on first sight.

One look at the site this guy has up, and my first thought is offensive! I’m a truther to but when it comes to the troops we need to be careful in our wording, sounds more like something Id say in private conversation but not on a website or advertisement.If I had seen this site before my paradigm shift I would have been pissed. lol, did your mum tell you that? i did not hear that saying until i moved to Ireland, seems loads of people say that over here, its an old wives tale. You see, people say that usualy when people look at them sideways as if they are lying, and you try and enforce your position to say that you have no reason to be telling them something that you believe is not correct, usualy done in cliche with..im telling the truth…or ..im not lying. But it is pretty much impossible to convince someone who is skeptical with these statements and a complete waste of time, but thats not about to stop someone from trying when someone looks at them sideways…your sad responce usualy occurs because of trying to alter someones veiwpoint to much.

Jerry’s response is a perfect example of how the mentality of those we oppose colonizes our own view of events like this. We need to be “careful in our wording”?! So what those in charge is not the problem, but pointing out precisely what it is they are doing in clear, straightforward terms is something we should be careful of. It’s incumbent upon us to sanitize the true implications of what they do? If someone doesn’t want the truth, they will use the language in which it is communicated to ignore it. That’s not the responsibility of the truth teller. That is the responsibility of the childish reader.

I just don’t get what any activist thinks they are going to accomplish. Go ahead take down the current government (won’t ever happen), and all you will succeed in is sending the country into turmoil and panic. Yes the government is a ruthless horrible organization. However government is a necessary evil to control human nature to a degree. Without it we would be a crazy out of control world. Evil controls evil and there is no other way. The problem is that if the government came down who gets to run the new establishment of power. Everyone (I mean everyone including you and me) corrupts with ultimate power. This is a response to Wow. Don’t be afraid of change. It’s happened before (American Revolution, Iraq right now). Have faith in the movement, don’t let the powerful men and women who are in control now scare you into thinking things can’t or won’t ever change. Part of the problem is that the government has near-ultimate power, and “We the people” need to take it back to stop the corruption. Don’t think for one minute there aren’t any good leaders, look at the Dalai Lama, why do you think the Chinese fear him and his society so much?

I think you’re wrong, Wow. People can be good, but our society, our rotten government, has corrupted as at our cores. If we can inspire the hopeless, enable the good, and disable the wicked, who’s to say things can never get better? It may be a massive, nearly impossible task, but it will be worth it if we succeed.
And besides, government isn’t evil by default. Not if it is truly run by the people, for the people.
As to this situation, this is absurd, and we do need to try to call attention to this.

I think that EVERY veteran in this great country needs to get ready for the long haul before we are ALL in concentration camps.

concealed carry permit?
If you get a concealed carry permit, you better retain a couple of ace lawyers and keep ‘em handy bro. The law will use that permit against you because you have been schooled by them as to when you are legally able to use your weapon in self defense. The threats and intimidation against Feeley and his website are a Federal crime (because they are directed at his Constitutional right to free speech), and if the FBI told Feeley that “there is nothing we can do about it,” make no mistake — that means that the FBI is an accomplice to that crime, even if ‘after the fact’. The same would be true if a police officer, or anyone, was called to the scene of a murder and told the bystanders, “there is nothing we can do about it.”
If it were me, I would send the wife and children into hiding in a secret location, and I would always leave a plate of tasty chocolate chip cookies laced with rat poison in my kitchen for unscheduled home intrusions by the FBI guys.

I feel this problem is serious and needs to be approached in several ways: First, there needs to be so many websites, cd makers, short wave operators, speakers, and others that voice factual information regarding 9 eleven, the Iraq war, and the movements toward fascism, that it becomes an impossibility for thugs and Waco’s to occur. With the martial law executive orders in place, there is a strong possibility that the government is just waiting to create a “Rambo” to take down as an example. Freeley’s response appears to come from a more still place and common sense rather than knee jerk reactions, and this response, as well as the multiplicity of approaches to current dilimmas I feel is the best perspective.

Hey Deep, This was early in his campaign and is well known. No new news here. What you failed to show was the date of this clip, then cite subsequent quoteswhere Ron Paul states that he supports a new investigation into 9/11. Dr. Paul is no idiot. Had he come out that early in his campaign and said he supports the “conspiracy theory,” it would have been politically detrimental. Simply supporting a new investigation serves both interests well. Have you listened to any of the Ron Paul interviews with Alex Jones that date after that clip? I think you’ll hear a vast alignment in nearly all views, either diretcly stated or implied. So let me ask you this; if you support nobody, which is seems is the case, then what do you suggest as a course of action? Full-out armed revolution and some disorganized coup by the “people?” Just to focus on only one of the many serious issues that would arise, let me ask one; have you ever studied economics? Do you really want to create a “mob rule” government? I love the anger that you and Gregory have burning, and I think it can become an instrument of change within others, but through a more organized and peaceful methodology. The THREAT of an armed response of 300 million people has a greater punch than the actual response itself. We need to be building that army rather than rushing into attack in small disorganized bands. It seems to me that Ron Paul was the best shot toward making the changes that you also seem to support. This stuff didn’t happen overnight. To think we can change it overnight doesn’t mean that we don’t need to hurry, but it also doesn’t mean that we should just start shooting - in my opinion anyway. Tom Feeley is one of the best activists and website owners out there. I have read his site for 4 or 5o years every day and have learnt soooooo much from it. He also alerted me to 9-11 truth via his site (which gets DOS’ed & trolled to shit every time he posts 911 stuff.
the guy is one of the best and the fact that the feds have stooped so low is sickening, shame on them, may they spend their lives in a prison cell contemplating the evilness of their ways.

Honestly, blaming our military for this fiasco is like blaming Mickey Mouse for what Disney does. Have you noticed the number higher ups resigning, as higher ups can do just that-resign. The enlisted have contracts which prevent them from doing this, or many would. I have spoke to many seeking a way out, but considering where they are this is impossible. If we want them home, we will have to make it happen.

I find is hard to believe that two or three guys from the government or anywhere else for that matter, came to them and threatened the owner and his family of this web site. If they did where are the pictures of these people who came to threaten him. This web site owner would have the intelligence to take pictures of them and we could then validate the claim. I’ve seen enough websites with similar information that it wouldn’t make sense for them to single out one man. I’ve always worried about the day all these websites would start disappearing that’s why I recommend printing/burning as much information as you can just in case.

This is the law in Arizona. In a rare moment of sanity, our state legislators actually did something right. ARS stands for Arizona Revised Statutes. In addition to this law, there’s another one which applies specifically to your home, which justifies anything you want to do including killing the intruders, and yet another one which prevents anyone from suing you if you harm or kill someone under these laws. The fella who wrote the article should move here. I think breaking into your house and brandashing a gun in front of your wife could fit into just about any of these.

A. Just because someone wrote “Alex Jones Rules” on my dirty rear windshield I was approached by some thug at McDonald’s wearing a scary Ronald McDonald costume. He handed me a bag, said it was a happy meal, and said “if you want to be happy you’ll get your fucking car washed”. I was horrified because I’ve never heard Ronald McDonald use fowl language before. He seemed like such a gentle soul on all of his commercials, smiling and all. But this Ronnie scared me.
At the car wash the attendant asked me which car was mine? I told him the one with “Alex Jones Rules” on the dirty windshield. Suddenly I noticed several security types all start talking on walky talky’s and some had strange ear pieces with wires. One guy started pounding furiously on a “lap top”. A black one at that. When my car was done and Pedro was drying it off with an el-shammy, I notice two tires where flat. Scared I just wanted to get out of there. Obviously we’ll never get unanimity, but a large groundswell - not even comprising a majority will work wonders. Don’t you recognize the acceleration of government agenda? Hey Enas, I’m not trying to ask anyone “what their problem is.” I am simply suggesting that having such a myopic position may not help the cause. If someone supports a true independent investigation, they you and I believe that the real truth will be revealed. With that, it doesn’t matter what Ron Paul says, because the truth is an absolute defense. If what he says leads more people to push for this independent investigation, then the greater good (familiar with the utilitarian philosophy?) will be served. I look at his position as simply an alternative attack strategy fighting against our common enemy. Look beyond the words, my friend, and I think you’ll see we’re on the same team.

For instance certain people who disagree with what is on this site continue to visit here, and whats your point? If you disagree with Alex and his views, then seek a site that you do agree with. You have the freedom of choice, or could it be that some of you deep down in your gut know that Alex is right on. its about time that you do your own research. After all Alex often does say to do your own research. The web is full of information, including your own local library. Everything that Alex reports on is documented but he will research and cross referencing each document, something that we all did with high school essays. Please understand there are some really sick, demented, and awfully powerful people behind what is going down right now. Nick - If I stopped going to web sites where I didn’t agree with everything, I’d cancell my ISP service. I happen to like and respect ALLOT of what Alex puts up on the site. But there are also times that the information he’s disseminating (like this article) doesn’t quite pass muster.
It’s particularly frustrating because a site like this that is, for all intents and purposes, doing battle with the corporate media elite and the moneyed powers that be, should be extra careful not to do anything that would validate their crazy conspiricy theorist argument.
Yes, there are good and important things to be found on this site, but there’s also some real crap that’s being pushed and spun. Alex’s site should strive to the level of Democracy Now or The Nation. Hey, things are maybe finally coming around. I personally have been wondering for quite awhile why there are not more ex special forces guys, ex navy seals, el delta, etc who like so many of us are sick and fed up with our fraudulent govt. but unlike most of us, are actually trained to take physical action. This situation doesn’t sound far-fetched, with what is happening in our country today. But, is there a possibility that the “email” being circulated is a possible way to get more readership to Tom’s website?
I can understand that Tom wants to get the word out about the harassment happening to him and his family, but why isn’t it mentioned on his website? I did a quick look there and didn’t find any mention at all.
I’m not saying the story in the email is fiction, but maybe Tom should put the story on his website to alert others of what is happening to him?

This kind of thing happened to my one of my wife’s friends mother. 2 guys in black suits came to the door and informed her they were taking her computers because they were concerned about something that was being done on the internet. Apparently her 18 year old son is anti war also and has been blogging about it. People who scoff at this kind of thing wont get upset about it until it happens to them. It reminds me of the guy who got tasered in Florida for speaking his mind to Rep. Kerri. You look around him and there are people smiling and laughing. As americans they should be mad as hell that their fellow countryman is being attacked for voicing his opinion or stating facts. When their 1st amendment right is finally taken they wont be laughing anymore. Then again these sheep will probably never speak up or see wrong in anything the government is doing. The possibility CAN’T exist that Alex Jones is a fraud AND I’m AGAINST the other side. See how brainwashed these guys are? Speaking of the thugs,I’m wondering what the fine points are about “killing in self defense”. You can project all you want to about the question, but that’s the very first response my psyche generates when reading stuff like this.
I’m talking about a sort of “preemptive” move, like, as soon as you’ve sized up the situation, just get out the fly swatter and have at it.
Goes for LAPD, NYPD and other similar big city forces, as well as Rovian and assorted counter ops personnel. They may be well trained, but they may not be expecting a really fast karate chop - not speaking literally of that particular martial art, just the weaponized action coming rapid and from the hip of intuition.

If I were training Intelligence officers in the US military, I would have them practice their laundry list of disinformation and interrogation techniques on an Internet forum like this one.
That may be exactly what we are seeing here.
It’s rare that anyone would be motivated to spend his entire day, day after day, on an Internet forum arguing with people that he totally disagrees with. The right-wing trolls on this forum are doggedly persistent and they seem to flip from one disinfo and disruption technique to another as if they were following an algorhythm.
I’ll wager that many of the right-wing trolls on this forum are US or Israeli military or Mossad. They act like they know each other.

Three guys showed up INSIDE their kitchen and threatened his wife and flashed his gun? And the FBI says they can’t do anything? Are you friggin kidding me? Of course they can do something! Without a doubt, I would sue. Take down their liscense plate numbers, take their photos, hire a P.I., and sue their asses off.
I too have been hassled, hacked, surveilled, buzzed by helicopters who dropped some sort of chemicals on my home, all sorts of crap. It’s unnerving and all I did was post on my blog. There is no doubt that the Bush admin. has hired 100’s of thousands of freaks harrass anyone against the war or anyone pointing out the lies of the media and govt. It amazes me that so many Americans have been made to become rats. In Germany, most people think that the German public was scared and “just following orders”. But the truth is, that 90 percent of those arrested in Hitlers Germany was because some nosy neighbor called the Gestapo to rat them out for various lame things like speaking to a jew or not doing the heil hitler salute. Our country is becoming the same thing. With 1000’s of stores closing up this summer, we soon will be a nation of slave-rats/ Americans are so friggin stupid. Well, at least 99 percent of them are.

I noticed there are a lot of keyboard commandos on here. You absolutely don’t know how bad it is when you are a TI. You can’t just shoot these guys unless they are in the house again. For parking out front of the house all night, you can’t do shit except call the cops and let all your neighbors know so they can keep an eye on them. That is what he should be doing.
As for his website, it is a good site, but it’s a collection of articles. The blog owner doesn’t even voice his opinion on it! So he is much less of a “threat” than Alex Jones if you want to compare. Alex is knee deep in it by doing his own radio show and challenging the authorities. After the deaths of so many dissidents over the past 8 years, it makes you wonder. William Cooper, Gary webb, Michael Corbin, Hunter S. Thompson, Marla Ruzicka, Susan Sontang, and on and on. Does anyone know of a BUsh body count list as far as journalists and radio hosts go?
Michael Corbin was especially sad. He had done some of the best work on 9-11 with Indira Singh, and was about to do a whole lot more just before he ended up having a massive stroke at 51 years old?! I think he got the Jack Ruby cancer fed to him by air.

It seems to me that the owner of this site trips around Mouse Land everyday and collects articles which he feels might interest regular readers here. That is what I appreciate about this site.

I really hope some folks have some plans to mirror his site! It would be a crying shame if his ISP were given orders to shut it all down! Mirrors everyone! I would like to see what I can do. however, I am still working from a “free” hosting account. Another idea, how about someone showing the gentleman how to use TOR/VIDALIA on his internet connection. It is open source, and very effective concerning privacy issues and net-tracking.

Has anyone thaught of the possibility that perhaps these alleged thugs could be of a more local variaty government sector. Say perhaps from one of his own or a neiboring jurisdictions. Perhaps a pissed off police or sherrifs dept. Not that an entire dept. would engage in such events but in any such group some begin to act with powers of impunity. (we’ve all witnessed it). Some times it only takes a few bad apples. I would look first in such a direction or perhaps some group on the other side of the fence. Such as some local drug dealers, book makers, etc.. Who simply don’t have the resources to mess wiyh his life in any other way.
