On Friday, unidentified armed militants captured two airports in the Crimea region of Ukraine. While Russia has insisted they had nothing to do with the attacks, Ukrainians labeled the events an “armed invasion” by the Russians, before that country’s parliament officially granted PresidentVladimir Putin permission to use military force in that area.
CNN reporter Diana Magnay was on the ground in Crimea yesterday and attempted to find out for herself where the mysterious gunmen came from. “Can we ask you guys where you’re from?” she asked through a translator. “[Are] you from Russia?”
Magnay was unable to get an answer or statement of any kind from the men who are calling themselves the “People’s Militia of Crimea.”
