NBC News’ Pete Williams reported that U.S. officials identified the gunman as Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, an Army psychiatrist who had been promoted to major in May. A defense official told NBC News that Hasan arrived at Fort Hood in July for his first assignment after completing his psychiatry residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, followed by a fellowship in disaster and preventive psychiatry.
Hasan, who was 39 or 40, was scheduled to be deployed to Iraq on Nov. 28, officials said. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, said military officials had told her that Hasan was “pretty upset” about his deployment orders.

Hasan was a psychiatrist who previously worked at Walter Reed Army Medical Center but more recently was practicing at Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood, according to professional records.

UPDATE 4: Report: US Army shooting suspect a mental health professional
An unidentified source told AP the shooting suspect killed at a Texas US base, Malik Nadal Hasan, was an Army mental health professional.
Another official said investigators are trying to determine whether Hasan was his birth name or if he changed his name and converted to Islam at some point in his life. (AP)

UPDATE 3: Fort Hood Shooter Was About To Be Deployed To Iraq
Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson, R-Texas, told Fox News that military sources informed her that the gunman was about to be deployed to Iraq.
Hasan allegedly opened fire and killed 11 people on the base before he was shot, bringing the total number of fatalities to 12.
The general said there were “eyewitness accounts of more than one shooter,” and the others were tracked to an adjacent facility.

Homeland Security said it is still gathering information and that the “Army is taking the lead” as of now. FBI agents from Waco and Austin, Texas, are being deployed to the scene. The CounterTerrorist Unit said they have “no word” yet on whether this incident was terrorism-related.

At least 12 people were killed and 31 others were wounded in a mass shooting incident Thursday at Fort Hood, Texas, military officials said. The shooter was shot to death, they said.
More shots were reported later in the afternoon, reported NBC affiliate KCEN-TV of Waco, which said no further details were immediately available.
A senior administration official told NBC News analyst Roger Cressey that the suspect who was in custody was an Army major with an Arabic-sounding name. The official said the shootings could have been a criminal matter rather than a terrorism-related attack and that there was no intelligence to suggest a plot against Fort Hood.
It was unknown whether the victims were all soldiers or civilians at Fort Hood, one of the largest military complexes in the world. The base was on lockdown, as were schools in the area.

KCEN, which quoted a source as saying at least one of the shooters had a high-powered rifle, reported reported that at least four SWAT officers were among those wounded.
A spokesman for Fort Hood said the shootings took place at two locations around 1:30 p.m.: the Soldiers Readiness Processing Center and Howze Theater.
The spokesman, Sgt. Major Jamie Posten, said processing center was where soldiers “cycle through as they prepare to deploy.” That complex is on the West side of post, off Battalion Avenue.
Greg Schannep, an aide to Rep. John Carter, R-Texas, who was on the post to attend a graduation service, told the Austin American-Statesman that a soldier with blood on his uniform ran past him and said a man was shooting.

NPR reported the shooter was also a mental health care provider, hey you know the old saying the coblers kids never haved shoes. When is america going to wake up and can all of the PC rules, and call a spade a spade. We need to deport a lot of pple, and then there is no reason to take our rights. It is time to open up the internment camps and fill them with people of Middle Eastern origin. It’s sad because a lot of people from the Middle East are friendly people on the surface anyway. There is no other way. It is a matter of public safety.
The civilian population in Iraq needs to be put in camps as well to keep them from giving aid and comfort to the terrorist, and then every standing building needs to be leveled until every terrorist is rooted out.

I don’t disagree with the deportation idea, but is anyone aware of the numbers of Islamic origin people living in our country? It is estimated in the millions. What and how would it be done, especially since not all of Islamic heritage can be “guilty”.

Some people are acting like it is a surprise he was a psychiatrist. There was a study that showed around 65%, it maybe another number but it is definitely over 50, have mental problems themselves. Why would this be? Simple, they are interested in psychology when they face their own mental health issues and some study it. So do you think he is one of them in this percentage? I certainly do. He is mentally disturbed. Going to Iraq was a no no? He shouldn’t have joined the military. Military is a instrument of War, whether you are a combat soldier or support, it involves stresses. Regardless of mental health, people understand accountability for their actions.

He probably was not anti-American, just upset by having to go into do the dirty work of the goevernment and maybe was already under severe strain. I have seen a documentary of Irish politicians visiting Iraq and there disbelief and description that it is agiant prison where nobody trusts anybody and you are on constant alert. My thoughts are with the loved ones who must be devastated.

I would never thank a soldier for anything. I was a soldier myself, way back when I was young and “ignunt”, during Viet Nam. Soldiers are basically losers who couldn’t get a job in the materialistic real world. Maybe they could wash cars or shine shoos. Soldiers are mercenary killers, with the exception of the few who are merely delusional. An alternative explanation from World Reports. The background and context is not easily or succinctly explained. You will have to read his previous reports for that. I have and I’m still not sure I fully understand it. For what it’s worth…
THE FORT HOOD SHOOTINGS: THE REAL STORY
The shootings were staged in order to cover up what was really happening behind the scenes which was as follows:
(1): George H. W. D. V. D. Bush, the head of THE BOX GANG working with the Clintons, had stored some or all of the stolen/diverted 1933 dollar currency Chinese currency boxes referenced in our reports dated 4th and 5th November 2009 at Fort Hood. These boxes form part of the Settlement negotiated with the Chinese parties, who were immediately double-crossed by the Americans.
(2): We do not know at the time of posting whether George Bush Sr. had flown in to Fort Hood from Germany, but as this base is located close to Crawford and other Bush Crime Family locations, we believe this to be HIGHLY PROBABLE.
(3): Whether Bush Sr. flew into Fort Hood to be joined with the stolen/diverted Chinese-sourced currency boxes, or was accompanying stolen boxes on the plane, is not strictly material, because what we DO KNOW is as follows:
(4): An operation was mounted at Fort Hood to CONFISCATE THE STOLEN CHINESE CURRENCY BOXES FROM BUSH SR., which achieved its objective. The currency boxes, forming part of the Settlement that Adolf Schickelbusch sabotaged with the duplicitous assistance of his agent, Chancellor Angela Merkel [see preceding reports], were retrieved.
(5): It is likely that the shoot-out which occurred for public consumption was a diversionary operation masking a parallel shoot-out involving Bush bodyguards and US military, although we cannot confirm this. Certainly, the ‘mainstream’ media, as usual, is running the wrong story.
(6): The deployment of 500+ heavily armed troops, and the fact that military helicopters were called in, implies a sizeable operation, which would be make little sense in the context of a shooting such as is described in the media. That does not diminish the nastiness and tragedy of the loss of life as reported: but when this operation was planned, loss of life was factored into the equation.
• It’s called cynically: COLLATERAL DAMAGE.
[Do they CARE that at least seven personnel lost their lives and over 30 were injured in a parallel cover-up operation? That’s like asking whether the sacrifice of over 100 special US operatives who spearheaded the Bush-directed seizure of the Central Bank of Iraq in Baghdad in 2003, all of whom were massacred immediately afterwards so that none of them would survive to report for posterity what actually happened, was an accident. That operation went badly wrong, and was exposed, too: reliable Iraqi eyewitnesses supplied the necessary reports and confirmation].
It is impossible at this juncture to be sure whether the gunfire was part of the main operation, i.e., the whole operation was synchronised, or whether two separate operations were run in parallel. But that is hardly material, given the momentous details and substance of this report.
(7): Separately, we understand that George Bush Sr.’s assets in the Caribbean – ‘his’ money – was seized at the same time, or at least at some stage on 5th November 2009.
(8): Adolf Schickelbusch has also been informed that ‘you are not going to get a penny. You will be paid NOTHING’. [Assuming, that is, that he's still vertical. But that's all we know right now].
This reflects the fact identified earlier, namely that these Germans ALWAYS go too far. Bush Sr. WENT TOO FAR by sabotaging EVEN the carefully nuanced arrangements worked out with the Chinese authorities and parties, and with the other sovereign powers, including the British Monarchical Power. He thought he could carry on carrying on, blind to the fact that IT’S OVER.
• As a consequence, HE HAS LOST EVERYTHING. HE HAS BEEN CLEANED OUT.
NOW. As indicated, we cannot yet confirm that GEORGE BUSH HIMSELF flew into Fort Hood. If he did, it stands to reason, given the above FACTS, which have themselves been CONFIRMED, that George H. W. Bush would have been arrested OR HORIZONTALISED.
We may yet learn that this took place.
All we can do at this stage is to remind you of the phrase ‘Not YET’ in the preceding report.

If this assessment is correct, we would anticipate some high-level dismissals or resignations from the US Government soon, if it turns out that this DECISIVE ACTION has indeed broken the impasse and destabilised the opposition beyond any likelihood of recovery. We shall (soon) see.
More to the point, the President had been placed in an impossible position by the Nazi Fifth Column within the US Intelligence Power owing allegiance to the Box Gang, not least given the horrendous implications for national security arising from the sabotage operation mounted by Bush Sr. and his lackey, Chancellor Frau(d) Merkel. Was she arrested, as ordered by the World Court? Don’t know yet. One would expect the German police to have snubbed the World Court.
• However the TIMING of the operation described above makes Merkel’s arrest more FEASIBLE.
• She’s scheduled to hold a triumphant meeting in Berlin next week as the Germans overplay their hand AGAIN, humiliating the British (through a French Cabinet mouthpiece) by lecturing us to the effect that Britain has no choice but to integrate itself, whether it likes it or not, within the Greater German Empire. The British don’t like it. There will be repercussions.

Barry, the point you make is more than interesting. It is true and for years we the people have been encouraged to fight in wars for many different reasons, but since the second world war more and more regional wars have always had mercenaries fighting alongside the so called regular troops. Infact form what I have read if you are lucky enough to live in a country with a professional mechanised military, you get the best education in war and fighting skills. When you have completed your service with the army one can go on to fight as a mercenary and get well paid for it! The US – UK and many other nationals are engaged in private security and private armies fighting in Iraq/Afganistan today. They operate outside the national sovereign rules and can literally get away with murder. So long as you have governments who promote the need and landscape for war, there will be a job for mercenaries. But as you point out towards the end of Roman’s paid the mercenaries well. The problem is with mercenaries is they have no lyalty and eventually change sides or have a tendency to break away and start there own miny state!

US can draw back many bases and scale down and still be the coolest baddest boys on the block that no one messes with. The story that he was upset about being deployed into a combat zone wouldn’t have worried someone who doesn’t see combat. That is a horseshit lie. No one joins the army and then freaks out for nothing and starts killing people just because he was going to have to leave his new home for awhile. There was also 2 others involved which makes me think those 3 might have found out something they shouldn’t have from the patients he was seeing. Whatever it was, he must have knew that he would have ended up dead if he started shooting in the middle of an army base.
He was afraid to go to Iraq? So him and two others decide to start shooting up the base? He didn’t seem so scared to do that, knowing he was dead the instant he started firing. No one joins the army, especially as a psychiatrist and then goes on a shooting rampage unless he heard something pretty profound from one of his patients. I can just imagine what he found out. Whatever it was, it put him over the edge. This is not a good thing. This runs really deep. I want to know what he found out.

@The Horsemen… I wrote up at the top, many psychologists and psychiatrists have mental conditions themselves. It is no lie ask one of them! Anyways, that isn’t an excuse to shoot up a place, but if he was mentally disturbed. However, your point that he came across something is very interesting. It made me think what jobs could they use a psychiatrist for in an overseas deployment? Most common would be to help other soldiers with combat fatigue and their concerns. Could there be other jobs for them like monitoring interrogations? If so, could he of found out something? Motives are always interesting to know, the fact he is alive is good news for that, but I doubt one would get a clear story as the official reason will definitely be that he didn’t want to go to Iraq. That may very well be true, but why was that great enough to shoot your own?

This is what happens when multiple deployments add up to close a half a dozen. Four + deployments without proper down time (I&I) and shortened stateside stays will inevitably lead to this situation. PTSD is real, and so-far not recognized by the Pentagon and VA. Remember, many of the Generals above a two star served at the most two deployments in Nam. We have an-all-volunteer force now seeing their fifth full one year deployment.
Ft. Hood is the home of the 1st Cav, which has seen more combat related deaths and injuries than any other division. The pressures on the field and the family pressures bec of multiple deployments…
This is why we need a draft, to spread the burden on all Americans.

Most people who go into the military aren’t a senator’s son going to West Point or the Naval Academy at Annapolis, backed by a multi-millionaire family legacy; they are poor high-school kids with no where else to go. All the heavy manufacturing jobs have left this nation, which was the mainstay for this sect of people. Nationalism is merely a crutch now, to bury the horrible truth that these poor people have no where else to turn.
Every decade power becomes more and more concentrated towards the top, but his is by design. Once we fight and defeat Iran (it’s inevitable, maybe not next year, but by 2014 we’ll be engaged in a full-out war with them) there is no one left! Russia and China. A war with them would equate to a nuclear holocaust, but it won’t happen. It didn’t happen in the 50+ years of the “cold war,” where is was SUPPOSED to happen. I served in the military and we have to as we have conscription. I agree it disciplines young ignorant teenagers. Here families do everything they can to avoid it though like having 18 year olds with 2 children. Those with money pay to have a doctor write off a health problem or they go to a university. It doesn’t stop the police from kidnapping those in the universities and throwing them in the centers for conscription. I mean US is more organized maybe which could be a bad thing as you wouldn’t hear about these problems as they will exist regardless. Americans were shocked when they learned the depth of corruption in Wall Street and Washington. They are still learning that corruption runs deep. They thought it only happens on those strange foreign lands, but not at home. Only the odd “white collar criminal” was guilty. Forced conscription isn’t really a good thing for the United States. The way to change is to stop this feels good culture that MTV promotes. Corporations promote this lifestyle as you are more likely to buy their products and do things for yourself which is being a consumer. They promote sex with music, food, and everything so we are being mocked and treated like wild primitive animals. Go hang out with your neighbors, some suck yes, but a community is strength. Sitting on a computer here isn’t really a community unless you can organize everyone here into a group that meets face to face. Then you can act in reality. You don’t need to be a soldier to effect change. Having been a soldier, I don’t think much changed for the better. However, I would do it again to protect my country under international law for its sovereignty as should be.

My son is coming home from his 1 year tour of Iraq this month to his wife and my grandchild, his son, who live on base in North Carolina. He’s not re-enlisting, but is finishing up his obligation and will try to work another job.
This tragedy at Fort hood could be from a multitude of reasons, and none of us should jump the gun until the facts come in, but……..
If I was an elite military industrial corporation that wanted to expand the war by generating more HATRED for Muslims, Arabs and anyone that says they believe in God then this seems like a great way to accomplish that.
Stimulate hatred toward Arabs is one of the things this tragedy will cause, as the Major who was involved with the killings had an Arab sounding last name, so most good Americans, will say “That’s good enough for me, now let’s take out the rope and start hanging them”
But that’s only one possibility. On the other hand this could be a classic case of some pissed off Arabs that are more loyal to their families and may want to send a message for the US to stay out of the war.
We’ll have to see how Obama handles this, but look deep in his eyes when he gives his speeches and you might be able to read between the lines.
Also watch the media and observe some of the things they say, knowing they’re probably not totally honest, but most likely will use this event to motivate and stimulate the masses.

Theres been a few instances where i have watched his televised announcements where he looks like he is welling up with tears which was wierd.

Apparently you didn’t read the article, but the “shooters” were U.S. Army troops, not civilians. It’s ironic how the elite military industrial complex uses false flag attacks to start wars, but then we look for random events to symbolize false flag attacks. There aren’t any facts to substantiate that this was anything other than a mildly coordinated PTSD spaz out.
I think the story that will break tomorrow afternoon is that they had been on multiple deployments and were headed out for another one. They said F@*K IT and decided to mow down their fellow troops. If people think this is an isolated event, just look at what is happening on the battlefield! Troops are committing suicide left and right. Troops are getting fragged by their own squad mates, the Air Force, other nation’s peace keeping troops. Just b/c this happened on a domestic base doesn’t make it different than the friendly fire spaz outs overseas.

What’s “fishy” about any of these details? “Point 2″ might be considered the only “fishy” element, but there just isn’t any information on these men yet, just as initially there was little info on the “main” shooter. Arabic/Persian names more than often include titular modulators, his “happens” to be king. So…just cause he has “king” in his name automatically makes it a conspiracy? Don’t see the logic there. A soldier must QUALIFY with ANY weapon they carry. If this man was CARRYING a 9mm pistol than he qualified with it. Qualifying equates to being able to effectively and efficiently use a weapon to a certain standard. If you can’t “kill” or hit a certain number of targets, then you don’t QUALIFY and thus don’t get to carry it. Any questions?

It was said he got his medical degree from the military, at least in NYC. Could be the story changed in different markets. That blew me away. The military does not give any degrees, let alone a medical degree.
It would be too easy to check any medical school to see if a Hasan was a student & a graduate. That is why the morons said he got his medical schooling from the military. I was in the military. I know they don’t give degrees, maybe a certificate to say you took training.

The fact is that nobody knows anything about the why’s and how’s that this incident occurred, but most people seem ready to go to DefCon1 and start nuking anything that moves. I wouldn’t say that they are “lying”, more like confused. You have to know that every Army guy that was within three blocks of that place is blabbing every rumor he thought he heard someone else say on a phone conversation about something or other to any and every “news” correspondent who will give an ear or a second of air time, and all those correspondents are doubtlessly embellishing the rumor a bit in an effort to scoop everybody else and the more juicy the tidbit, the more likely it will see some airtime. The Michael Jackson circus was enough to prove that.
The scary part is that most people seem to believe that Martial Law will be declared because of some action like this, when, in fact, it will be called because of the same kind of mindless REaction that I’m seeing on this site, and pretty much all the others as well. I just made it home, 2130. I was in the SRP site going through the process for my 6th deployment since 2001, when this all this went down. I am a soldier, 20 years of service. This is crazy! I was standing in a long line for the personnel section. A warrant officer standing next to me, we were talking, was shot in the shoulder. A SGT standing in front of me was shot in the neck… and died. We heard gun fire from the front entrance, and everyone made a ‘mad’ dashed for the back door. I would say there was about 50 people in the area I was in. I can definately say there were AT LEAST 2 other shooters that were outside shooting people as they ran out of the back of the building. And it was M16 fire, I could tell by the sound. People tried to turn around but, the people trying to get out created a bottleneck. Asshole came in through the front, walked into the very crowded foyer area and just started shooting. He had two semi-auto hand guns (Barretta’s???) and I did not see him reload after he emptied about 20 rounds into the room… He was definately aiming at people. Then he walked out the back door, and then again we heard more shooting. There was a lot of blood and people screaming. I just don’t know why they would spin the story. I made a statement, but now, I am worried, because my statement greatly differs from what the CG put out and what ‘actually’ happened. It was horrible. I just don’t understand why he would lie about the other shooters. A LOT of people are going to tell the truthful story… I hope. No one has approached me or called me about my statement. The SWAT Teams were intense!

You know the deal, draw your “unloaded M-16″, and your name is assigned to that weapons serial # until you clean it and turn it back in to your company armourer
Ammo is a whole other story, ONLY handed for training on base, on a range

This may be naive of me…But I was thinking could it be possible that by having incidences like this and some of the others that have had American Military men “loosing it and killing others on bases”..Could this be used to stimulate public FEAR as well as FEAR within the communities of servicemen of the Forts themselves. In doing this could through social engineering create public consensus that military men ( whom are issued weapons ) should NOT HAVE THEM on their person or home. The firearms could be kept at a a designated and secure area. Like lockers and then they could only have them for drills, shooting and eventually deployment. This would create an UNARMED army at home ( US SOIL). Then when martial law comes into play. OUR SOLDIERS THEMSELVES WOULD BE HELPLESS TO HELP….???? just a thought.
Again this may be naive and IMPOSSIBLE in some way beyond my comprehension and limited military know how…..

I think this will turn into another Virginia Tech cover-up. If there were multiple shooters that makes more sense. But they will suppress that angle and pin it on one guy, because THEY CAN. This will be swept under the rug, and the victims will never get justice, because it was planned by people with a lot of power.

Real Deal. I am doing a lot of second guessing right now… after sleeping 4 hours. A friend told me that the shots I may have heard outside were from the police shooting the idiot. Then I read that he was alive. The medics and medical personnel were awesome. And the response to get people to hospitals was super fast. I am getting calls… “Are you okay” “If you want to talk”… etc… I think the ‘rush’ is over. The police did get there strangly quick. Normally they pile us all into the SRP site in the hundreds. There have never been police there. There were a lot of cell phones in action and they were confiscating them from people as the searched us when we left. I hope someone was able to get theirs out and they were using it… and they publish to every website they can. He definately had a plan, and was ready for anyone who rushed him. He had this strange smile on his face… like ‘it felt good to get it off his chest’ kind of satisfied smile and teary eyes… they are putting me on leave for awhile. The CG said he shot way more people than what I remember…

for my part, it lasted about 1 minute. He walked in from the front door side, hallway, started shooting, told people to clear the back door, shot into the crowd, and as he walked toward the door, we were taking cover behind desks and down on the ground. It was not a rapid fire deal. He was choosing and aiming then shooting people. Then the police came in, and were yelling for everyone to stop yelling. Lots of blood. … about 5 minutes later, the first medical person showed up. The police would not let anyone help the wounded. The ones that were not injured were sent out onto the porch and then into a bus… [at least the group I was in was] and taken to the gym (there were A LOT of people there… it is a BIG building with four satelite buildings… filled with people). Where we were basically interogated… in a ‘nice’ way. I made my statement, and stayed there until lock down was cleared around 2030…. [my timing of the situation may be off a bit, but with in 30 minutes, I was out of the building... around that]

Another “Lone” gunman. Somehow manages to shoot 44 people with pistols, is claimed to be shot dead, then suddenly alive. Witnesses claim to hear shots from various locations across the base, including automatic rifle fire.
It will take a couple of days for the army to get its lies straight, but I don’t believe for a second it was just one person.

When I first heard about Fort Hood, local news said it was at Norwood, Ft. Hood. I searched for the video on WCBS from the news at 6, it’s not there, 11 news was posted when it said Hasan was alive after 4 gunshots. The word Norwood got my attention immediately, ie Norwood Operations. An officer said he was killed in local & network news now he is alive. The headline was CHAOS.
At 6 pm, Hasan was killed. 10 pm the NY Times sent out an email alert that Hasan is not dead. Don’t you think it is odd that the military couldn’t get it right? Chaos.

The Military did not “make him a Doctor”, they paid for med school, then he did his internship at Walter Reade.. And lots of people go to college while in the service, they actually have College Professors who come to the base to teach, just as they have Elementary, Middle and High Schools and teachers at Fort Hood.

I don’t know….pause….I figure, and I am no expert on surveillence, that if this guy really did this you would be seeing video evidence of it fairly quickly. My speculations are;
1. this guy didn’t do it, but he was the only guy they could find with an arabic sounding name..

For one, he was told he was going to be deployed to Iraq and argued against it. He was then allowed to change his deployment to afghanistan. This whole situation smells like shit from the beggining. The first thing that came to mind when the story broke was, the gov’t is going to try and somehow relate this to a “muslim” extremist i.e. some muslims stole the identity of some soldiers along with uniforms etc. similar to the “pizza delivery” incedent earlier this year, somehow got on base and went on a rampage, or someone got setup to look like an extremist under some kind of patsy mind control BS. When you have multiple eye witnesses that claim multiple shooters and the media outlets reporting the same and on top of that reports that 1 shooter was killed the other in custody and one on the loose, something doesn’t sound right. They are already changing their story, within minutes of the event. This screams false flag…

Witnesses being brought out of the building, Legions Place in downtown Orlando, a office building and being placed directly into UNMARKED police cars and taken away, not being allowed to speak to the press. The Vote on the Health Care Bill in the House starts at 2 PM Eastern I believe it was… So far, 8 shot, 2 dead, 4 critical, the Police are going floor by floor evacuating people so the shooter hasn’t been captured yet….will post more as it happens.
