A US report says the Chinese Government has been collecting intelligence on people protesting during the Olympic torch relay.

An analysis by intelligence consultancy Strategic Forecasting found that when the relay passed through San Francisco pro-China protest groups jammed mobile telephone networks and collected images of anti-China protesters.

There is increased pressure on the Australian Government to restrict the involvement of Chinese security agents when the torch visits Canberra.

Australian Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, said violent protest during the relay by any party will not be tolerated.
