Ron Paul Donation Day Top 30,000?

UPDATE: The upcoming mass donation day for presidential candidate Ron Paul (R-Tex) topped 25,000 in early December and now looks to top 30,000 before the December 16th deadline.

A question may be raised about the firmness of the number given that "phony" pledges may have been made. However, it would take a good many of these to affect the bottom line, and just as last time, on November 5th, there are likely numerous "lurkers" who have not pledged but will donate anyway.

The upcoming mass donation day for the limited government presidential candidacy of Ron Paul (R-Tex) has resumed its forward momentum following a pause for a November 30th pledge drive. It will shortly top 25,000.

Various publications have taken to announcing Ron Paul's demise as a presidential candidate, given that the November 30 donation day raised "only" $500,000. However, the December 16th mass donation day looks on track to receive up to 30,000 pledges or more, which would translate into $3 million.

Will Ron Paul's resurgent fund-raising bring him into even sharper clarity as a successful presidential candidate? The mainstream news media focused on straw polls, but then seemed to lose focus once Ron Paul did better than other candidates in the majority of them.

The mainstream media has also been focusing on fund-raising. Now that Ron Paul seems destined to outrun other GOP candidates in that arena as well, the mainstream media has seemingly begun to focus relentlessly on dubious national "polls."

Ron Paul supporters and political analysts of all stripes will doubtless watch with much interest to see if his December 16th haul garners him serious, sustained political coverage.
