Taser Used To Break Up School Fight

CARY, N.C. -- A Taser gun was used on two high school students Friday morning to break up a fight, authorities said.

Two 16-year-old students at Middle Creek High School refused to break up a fight even after the principal stepped in, authorities said. The school resource officer, who is assigned to the school by the Cary Police Department, then used a Taser to stop the fight, authorities said.

The officer "dry stunned" the boys, which means he didn't shoot the gun but pressed it directly against them, authorities said. Both boys are in jail.
