Readers of this newsfeed may be familiar with the Utah resolution that opposes the North American Union. HJR 7 was passed in the Utah House by a vote of 47-24 on February 6 and was later referred to the Senate Rules Committee for further consideration. Supporters of HJR 7 were hopeful that the Senate would pass the resolution before the legislative session’s end.

Time is running out! As Bliss Tew – a Field Coordinator for The John Birch Society – points out, the legislative session ends Wednesday. In order for HJR 7 to come up for a Senate vote, a state Senator must present a motion to call the resolution to the floor. Tew is hopeful that enough phone calls may encourage a state Senator to present such a motion.

As Mr. Tew points out, "HJR7 is only one small step towards preserving national independence and our constitution, but it is a counterrevolutionary beginning." If passed, Utah would mark the first state to pass a resolution opposing the North American Union in both Houses of Congress.

Please call the Utah State Senate and encourage a floor vote on the HJR 7. The number to the Utah Senate is (801) 538-1035 .
