More than 4,000 people showed up to the University Of Texas in Austin this past Saturday February 23, 2008 in order to support a message of liberty and freedom in a state-wide rally. Even though the event was sponsored by Students for Ron Paul, the rally joined people from all different backgrounds and beliefs together in order to send a simple political message: leave our freedoms alone.

Beginning around 2:30 p.m., the crowd enjoyed music from some great local bands. Then around 3:45 p.m. rock musician Jimmie Vaughn took the stage and played to an excitable crowd. Throughout the event, the Ron Paul Air Corps had an airplane fly a Ron Paul banner around the site in order to generate more support for the presidential candidate. At one point, Ron Paul and the entire crowed looked up in the sky to admire the banner up in unison.

It was a great day to sit in the warm Texas sun, enjoy the great music, and support a message of emancipation. Held only a few days after the Clinton-Obama debate, the rally gave freedom supporters the chance to gather and voice their political opinions. More than just a rally, this event was a way for more people to get involved and to continue to be involved in a freedom movement that has just begun.
