Are We The Terrorists?

Dana Gabriel | January 8 2006

I do not believe that it is by accident that recent revelations of domestic eavesdropping have surfaced. It is part conditioning to normalize the fact that the government has been doing this for a long time and will continue. It is all to keep us safe from the terrorists.

I find it troubling that most believe that the Patriot Act is being used only in terrorism cases. The fact is that it is being used against Americans who commit crime. It greatly expanded law enforcement powers in many areas totally unrelated to terrorism. It defines terrorism in such broad terms and has facilitated in the surveillance of those with unpopular political views.

People are losing their freedom in America and these terrorism laws and provisions are to be used against us. The Patriot Act is being used against American citizens. Police and prosecutors have increasingly turned these laws on people charged with crimes.

A gang member in New York was charged as a terrorist for a second degree murder. In Seattle provisions of the Patriot Act were used to charge 15 people with smuggling marijuana money to Canada. It was used in Las Vegas to obtain financial information in a strip club corruption case. A man in New Jersey was charged under the Patriot act for shinning a laser pointer at an airplane. There are already existing laws in place to prosecute those who commit crime.

We need to ask ourselves is the Patriot Act being abused and used as intended? There really seems to be nothing that would prohibit it's use against anyone. So it really should not be that surprising that it would be used in such a manner, but what is now clear is that this was their intention from the start. A toy store in Oregon was phoned by Homeland Security agents and asked if they sold a toy called the Magic Cube. They said it was an illegal copy of the Rubik's Cube.

When they visited the store the owner was told to remove the Magic Cubes and they watched as she did so. There was no problem the Rubik's Cube patent had expired and the Magic Cube did not infringe on any trademark. Does Homeland Security have nothing better to do then harass toy store owners?

Among other things it appears they are also to be responsible for protecting the integrity of the economy, financial systems, and trademark infringements. A veteran in Iowa was arrested by Homeland Security for complaining too much to the Veterans Administration. It was admitted there were never any direct threats, he had been phoning them for three years over a claim. He has been charged with third degree harassment. In the new America Homeland Security will have its claws in all aspects of people's lives.

Every crime will be punishable under the banner of terrorism and fear has been used to intimidate us into going along with this whole system of control. In Michigan Homeland Security sponsored a mock attack on a school bus. The fictitious terrorist group was the Wackos Against Schools and Education. The group believes everyone should be home schooled and in the scenario the group plants a bomb on a school bus. The mock exercise had students playing the victims and even distraught parents arriving at the scene. Talk about demonizing and pre-conditioning people into thinking that homeschool parents are evil terrorists.

A woman was arrested for chewing in a Washington DC metro station and later released after paying a fine. A pregnant woman was arrested for talking to loudly on her cell phone and was pushed to the ground. Ten middle school students in Texas were striped searched for a missing ten dollar bill. An Orlando man was handcuffed to the bed for refusing to take a urine test and tasered twice by police. Secondary screening at airports now allows for manual pat downs of women's breasts, genital and the derriere regions of both sexes during searches.

We are being made to think that it is alright to be humiliated, abused, treated like criminals, and slaves. Many believe that once the war on terrorism is over they will regain their lost freedoms. This is an open ended war and those who give up liberty for security will lose both. The government creates or uses a crisis and then poses as are loving saviors offering us protection and security. The price being our freedoms, but you need to ask yourself why the government seeks to take away what the terrorists hated in the first place?

Programs like the Visible Intermodal Protection and Response (VIPER) Teams are to give the perception that they are trying to prevent terrorism. In reality it is to condition us into accepting armed guards on the street, at bus, train stations, checkpoints, and searches as being necessary in keeping us safe when in actuality we are the real target in the war on terrorism.

The Patriot Act was labeled as anti-terrorism law, but has been used in more and more criminal cases. It is so broad and easily opened to abuse, the government could easily target anyone or group they so desire. So who does the government see as terrorists? Any group or individual attempting to influence the U.S. government or population to effect political or social change.

Defenders of the U.S. Constitution, Christians, and homeschoolers. Anyone against the United Nations, lone individuals, gun owners, animal rights, and abortion activists. Anyone who gets their news source from the internet and collects articles. Anyone who does not confirm to the state, who is not brainwashed by the endless propaganda, and still has their basic human programming intact.

Anyone you can think for themselves, who dares to question and criticize the government. So the terrorists, why it could be you and I.
