Rice: Iran attack reports, not true Press
TV The US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has rejected reports that Washington plans to launch an air strike against Tehran in August. "I don't know where these reports come from. We hear of reports all the time that bare no relationship to reality,” said Rice in an interview with the Swedish paper Dagens Nyheter. “The President has been clear that he believes that the diplomatic course that we are on, is likely to produce the result that we want,” she added.
(Article continues below) Rice said that the reports were 'simply not true,' but added that Bush would keep all options open. During the past few days a number of media outlets published reports that the US plans to launch an air strike against the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps in August. This is while the Iranian defense minister has said that Tehran could easily predict every approach Washington might consider and has prepared a crushing response in advance. "Iran's Armed Forces are fully prepared to counter any military attack with any intensity and to make the enemy regret initiating any such incursions," Major General Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar said on Saturday.
