Trevor Lyman - Ron Paul Blimp Winner

Free Market News
Monday November 26, 2007

Trevor Lyman, the man behind the successful Mass Donation Days to the campaign of presidential candidate Ron Paul (R-Tex), is also apparently behind the Ron Paul blimp - a project reported by numerous Ron Paul sites, but which until recently has enjoyed a degree of anonymity as regards its backers. The November 5th mass donation day raised over $4 million for the campaign of Ron Paul.

Is Lyman as big a winner as Paul? The Ron Paul campaign receives support only grudgingly from mainstream media, but "media pundits" will be examining how Ron Paul supporters seized on the Internet to build a viable candidacy for the free-market campaign of Ron Paul long after the election is over. And Lyman, who runs a music marketing site, will gain his share of attention for harnessing the power of the 'Net on behalf of Ron Paul.

The Ron Paul blimp project can be seen here:

Lyman is now coming in for his share of attacks for receiving too much credit for the success of Ron Paul's Internet campaign. Some have already remarked that these attacks are as curious as they are attention getting. While success apparently breeds controversy, the blimp project seems to be proceeding positively, and is close to halfway to its goal. Two more "mass donation day" sites set up by Trevor Lyman (and those working with him) are also doing well. Ron Paul stands to raise more than his goal of $12 million for the quarter. The innovations of Lyman and his supporters, including prominently the RonPaulForums.com and DailyPaul are a factor in the campaign's ongoing success.
