It never cesses to amaze me the things people will do to get something for free. No matter what damage is done to them, as long as it is free, they will sign up. No questions asked.

Enriching Your Life For Free

The latest example of this comes to us in an offer from Pudding Media for free long distance phone calls.

"A new media company has just launched an Internet-based phone service that promises free calls to users who sign up - the only catch is that in exchange, the company will monitor your conversations and send advertisements to your computer based on what you talk about."

"The company uses software to listen for specific keywords and send customers advertisements in real time based on their conversations. For instance, callers that talk to their friends about a new movie could immediately receive a link on their computer screen to the trailer. They may also receive more traditional advertising material, promoting a particular commercial product."

If you are not already sold on voluntarily having your phone conversations monitored and your privacy invaded, this should seal the deal.

There are people all over the world fighting and dieing trying to gain or maintain their privacy. Yet, sadly, some people will give it away for free.

Fight The Flu, It's Free

This article reminded me of all the people, here in Canada and elsewhere, who rush to get their free mercury laced flu shot every winter. Now, technically this is not free. The government gave our tax money to Big Pharma to provide you with your "free" flu shot. Regardless, people love anything that is free. No matter what harm it does them.
