FLASHBACK: Australia To Enforce Mandatory Chinese-Style Internet Censorship
AUSTRALIA’S mandatory net filter is being primed to block 10,000 websites as part of a blacklist of unspecified “unwanted content”.
Some 1300 websites have already been identified by the Australian Communications and Media Authority.
Communications Minister Senator Conroy revealed details of the Rudd Government’s proposed web filter as he called for expressions of interest from internet service providers (ISPs) for a live trial of the technology, the Courier-Mail reports.
ISPs will test ways to filter the web using volunteer subscribers. The trial will start before Christmas and is expected to last six weeks.

“The pilot will specifically test filtering against the ACMA blacklist of prohibited content, which is mostly child pornography, as well as filtering of other unwanted content,” Senator Conroy told Parliament today.
“While the ACMA blacklist is currently around 1300 URLs, the pilot will test against this list – as well as filtering for a range of URLs to around 10,000 – so that the impacts on network performance of a larger blacklist can be examined.”
Electronic Frontiers Australia board member Colin Jacobs said his civil liberties group was concerned at what would be deemed “unwanted content”.
“Conroy said the list would contain illegal and unwanted content but we still have to see what would end up on that list.

Apparently in Australia the people are sheeple. First they give up their guns only to have a huge spike in crime and now they give up their freedom of the press. Based on my experience with those people, they need more information, not less.

I detest the way our leaders in the West, and Down Under, think they can patronise us, by telling the public that all these things they are doing, they are doing for us, to save us, to make our lives better, etc. its revolting.

But I thought Australians didn’t need information or truth anymore! Everybody in Australia is now Fluoridated through water Supply after Queensland finally hooked into the mindfuck grid last December. All Australian States now mandate fluoridation.

It is untrue to say gun controls has resulted in increased crime. In fact crime figures are dramatically down and even that has little if anything to do with tighter gun controls. Why would it?
Freedom of the press has not been given up. The printed media was always easier to control when the pollies could keep their hands off it!
If you are seriously concerned about blocking internet content for children and their offspring, check out Pareto Logics white paper ‘State of the Internet for Youth’
The internet is harder to control, perhaps impossible, without actually shutting it down and that is not going to happen unless Google agrees to it.
Doing so would worsen the effect of the global meltdown we are about to witness.
My advice is to go to cash and save, even when interest rates go to zero and start growing your own vegies!
In fact the internet may save us from some of the worst case scenarios I have been losing sleep over for the past 24 months. Mass starvation, increased violence and crime, more guns on the streets and a reduced capacity to deal with any of it.

I’m an Aussie and proud of it…firstly, they think they have all the guns, 2ndly, not many of us drink the water, we filter it, sure they may think they can ban a few things, but we are still able to F%$k with our government….BUT at least our military don’t run around the streets, we aren’t being preped for martial law, we aren’t about to have our pensions (401’s) taken away from us….
Sure the are putting up prices on everything, because of your stupid dollar, and corrupt wall street, but it’s the small things that keep things amused..SUCH AS…I ride a motorbike, and have been able to avoid paying the rip off toll for the last 6 years…WHY & How, because the government structure is dumb dumb we let them get away with it.
Anyway…we’re all f%$ked unless we stand united and fight. It’s not really that hard.

If so, then based upon my experience with you guys, and believe me I’ve lived and worked with US citizens for years. You have no idea how the rest of the world works. Is this an experiment like The UK’s surveillance society they created , to be replicated else where and WHO is going to decide what is ” Unwanted content ‘ , unwanted by whom ? No doubt critics of the government will be at the top of the hit lists, by these fascists . I assume what you are TRYING to say is that just like the rest of the Western World, Australia has been duped (govt = willing, people = duped) into following the plans of the NWO. Hey, don’t mess with the Aussies! I’m a Yank and learned the hard way. They play football there without pads, don’t you know. I don’t think there is a very vocal gay population there either. Women have it rough like 50yrs ago in the US (don’t know exactly how that is today) before American men were emasculated.
This situation will be dealt with by the Aussies and they will find a way to communicate, believe me. This is their internal matter and my guess is they have been letting a lot go by the wayside, but this could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. I’m not sure if they are allowed to own firearms. But there are always brickbats and mayhem. You guys better let it rip and real soon, otherwise the US will be getting ideas.

In the 1990s Australians allowed their guns to be confiscated without a word. Now their freedom of expression and right to knowledge is being taken – also without a fight. What will be deemed ‘unwanted content’? You guessed it. Anything the tyrannical NWO thought police who now control Australia don’t want you to know. The spirit of Eureka is being trampled. The Eureka uprising was an 1800’s rebellion against authoritarianism on the Australian gold fields. This Aussie spirit produced Australia’s brave ANZAC soldiers. Australia is being lost to the NWO. Im so tired of people putting down the great Governments around the world. First off, the Government is just trying to help since most citizens are too stupid for their own good. The Government is just doing whats best for all of us! Stop bad mouthing one of the most honest and prestiges agencies in the world. Just realize that the Government has all of our best interests at heart and would never intentionally try to hurt any of us or steer us in the wrong direction. So, please just try to be a good patriotic citizen and do whatever the government says to do, its for our own good. They are the best friends that we all have on this crazy earth and are some of the smartest intellects on the planet.
