How far do politicians believe they can push the global-warming scam? We know, after his inauguration, Barack Obama intends to officially classify carbon dioxide as a “dangerous pollutant.” After such a declaration, his actions will reveal whether he truly views carbon dioxide as a threat to humanity or whether he is simply using a shameless scare tactic to further consolidate Federal power and to move the U.S. further along the road to socialism. If carbon dioxide is incredibly dangerous as Al Gore and Barack Obama claim it to be, then all options, for reducing carbon dioxide emissions, must be considered.
Once President Obama declares carbon dioxide to be a dangerous pollutant, every single American brewery, winery, and distillery will be, by definition, a “dangerous polluter.” Thus, if manmade carbon dioxide output must be drastically reduced to save the planet and humanity itself, then President Obama must strongly consider reinstating alcohol prohibition in these United States. Al Gore, to date, hasn’t had the guts to push the global-warming scam to the point of suggesting global alcohol prohibition and I highly doubt President Obama has the guts to do so in the U.S. Both of these political hacks, after all, are socialists and certainly are not in love with Mother Earth and humanity, but with power and celebrity.
Anyone with a fifth-grade education understands that the fermentation process is integral to producing alcoholic beverages. In the fermentation process, yeast interacts with sugars to create ethyl alcohol and carbon dioxide. Uh oh, there is that evil “pollutant” carbon dioxide. Who would have ever guessed the wonderful wines, beers, and distilled spirits we enjoy so much are born from pollution? Come to think of it, the beers and champagnes populating store shelves everywhere still contain carbon dioxide. By Barack Obama’s definition, I would be drinking a dangerous pollutant every time I enjoy one of my favorite ales. Should I consult a doctor before drinking pollution? Even if prohibition prevents me from drinking polluted adult beverages, in the future, what about soda pops and naturally-carbonated sparkling waters? Should these polluted beverages be banned as well? Perhaps President Obama will provide us with some guidelines about ingesting pollution.

If President Obama (and Al Gore for that matter) sincerely believes carbon dioxide poses such a dire threat to Mother Earth and humanity, then the carbon dioxide emissions from breweries, wineries, and distilleries would be viewed as a serious problem. In the United States alone, annual wine production is about 2.44 billion liters while annual beer production is approximately 23 billion liters. Throw in distilled spirits and it is inescapable to conclude that a whole lot of manmade carbon dioxide is being generated by wineries, breweries and distilleries. Once President Obama pronounces carbon dioxide to be a dangerous pollutant, what will he do about the “pollution” emanating from breweries, wineries, and distilleries?
The first thing President Obama should do is to lead by example and ban all alcoholic beverages from the White House (Al Gore should do the same in his household). Secondly, he and Al Gore should create a national awareness as to the polluting nature of the adult-beverage industry with the objective of building a consensus to bring back prohibition in order to save our planet and the human race. These two shrill politicians have asserted that the stakes are quite literally this supremely high, hence foregoing alcoholic beverages is a sacrifice all Americans should be prepared to make. For goodness’ sake, our planet is at stake!
Let’s take Barack Obama’s absurd assertion, that carbon dioxide is a dangerous pollutant, one step further. By using Obama’s “logic,” life itself is built upon pollution. It makes me wonder, once again, if our new President is smarter than a fifth grader. For if one is familiar with photosynthesis – and most fifth graders are – it is a process of converting light energy to chemical energy and storing it in the bonds of sugar. Plants only need light energy, carbon dioxide and water to make the aforementioned sugar. Photosynthesis, which cannot take place without carbon dioxide, occurs in plants (and a few bacteria) and is responsible for feeding nearly all life on Earth. But let’s not stop there. Another vital function photosynthesis performs pertains to generating the very oxygen which oxygen-breathing animals require for survival. So let’s get this straight Mr. Obama, you believe the life-giving process of photosynthesis is built upon pollution? If this is your firm conviction, then you have left me wondering if enough oxygen is making it to your brain. Yet what I do know now is that the gospel, according to Barack Obama, avows that life itself is dependent upon pollution. How utterly surreal.
Barack Obama, Al Gore, and politicians around the world are using global warming, and the outrageous lie that carbon dioxide is a pollutant, to increase state power and, thereby, reduce human liberty. It is an incredibly powerful scam which is frightening people into willingly giving up their freedoms in exchange for “saving” the planet. Therefore, step by step, country by country, the global-warming scare is helping politicians pave the road to socialism.
So why don’t we hear American, British, French, German and other politicians calling for the shuttering of breweries, distilleries, and wineries (or at least taxing their products into oblivion)? It is the same reason you will never hear an American politician call for a $100/hour minimum wage or for sending every adult American a $1,000,000 stimulus check. Taking a scam too far leads to intense examination and exposes the scammers for the frauds they are. Hence, gunning after wine, beer, and spirits makers would undoubtedly create such a backlash, against the global-warming charlatans, that the scam wouldn’t hold up under such mass scrutiny. After all, if you are compelling people to give up alcohol – to help save the planet – then the science had better be extremely sound. Questionable science, built upon faulty computer models, simply won’t cut it.
As Barack Obama, using parts of FDR’s playbook, attempts to lead us further down the road to socialism, be assured global warming will be used as a weapon to mentally terrorize Americans into further exchanging liberty for “safety.” It is a near-certainty, nonetheless, that breweries, distilleries, and wineries will not be deemed “dangerous polluters” in spite of the fact carbon dioxide is a byproduct of fermentation. To be sure, this will expose the hypocrisy of politicians, such as Obama. And, it will also reveal the grandiose concept, of saving the Earth from global warming, is nothing more than a ruse designed to help governments grab more power.
In George Reisman’s phenomenal book Capitalism, he describes why socialists such as Al Gore, Barrack Obama, and for that matter Arnold Schwarzenegger (who has turned out to be a greenie) will leave adult-beverage makers alone – in spite of their prodigious carbon dioxide emissions:
It follows that the rulers of a socialist state must live in terror of the people. By the logic of their actions and their teachings, the boiling seething resentment of the people should well up and swallow them in an orgy of bloody vengeance. The rulers sense this, even if they do not admit it openly; and thus their major concern is always to keep the lid on the citizenry.
Indeed, Barrack Obama’s mind may be polluted with contradictions and megalomania, but he and his ilk are savvy enough to have learned the lessons from America’s failed experiment with alcohol prohibition (combined with the fact that anthropogenic global warming is supported by flimsy science). Accordingly, it is much easier to keep the lid on a citizenry permitted to legally self-medicate with alcohol – especially during the present economic depression – than to draw the ire of citizens forced to seek adult beverages on the black market.
So raise your glass of wine and say “cheers” to Barack Obama: our new Hypocrite-in-Chief.

The sheer (il)logic of this reasoning demands two things:
1) A war on plants. After all, they are consuming CO2. If there was no demand for CO2 the traffickers would stop manufacturing it.
2) A war on people. We’re producing CO2. (Oh, wait, there is already a war on people in progress.Sorry.) OK, then, let’s just tax people by the pound of body weight. It seems reasonable that fat people produce more CO2 than skinny people. We should also tax people who are more energetic since they produce more CO2. Oh, I almost forgot the biggest producers of CO2 of all: politicians! Tax them up the ying-yang.

Isn’t it amazing, how every single other country in the World, Legitimate scientists around the world, Nobel Prize committee, NASA, other reputable orgs ALL believe the same thing? i.e. that trapped Co2 and other gases, are heating up this planet? Perhaps they might be on to something that Obama finally will allow the USA to join?
What kind of objection can anyone have, in making corporations, and countries clean up their pollution and dirtying of our air and water? I watch my grandkids puff on their asthmas inhalers, and hope someday they will be able to breath again! Yeah, that’s pretty bad to hope for !

The only thing wrong with “global warming” is that it seems to be a distraction from global pollution. Everybody is constantly talking about GW, pollution seems forgotten. I hope people who continue to drive cars if it isn`t really necessary, continue to pollute when it isn`t necessary, etc, will all end up in the pollution hell they are turning this world into. Whenever I see someone drive a car I think by myself: there another one who thinks his own speedy, comfortable, high perceived status way of transportation is more important then the life on the planet. I can think of a next life for such people: why not become a bird ? You can place comfortable speedy travel again at the centre of your life, experience the total freedom of travel, and you wouldn`t be another polluting asshole. You would be, but it wouldn`t matter because you don`t have the capacity to do damage anymore. I think many people deserve to be an animal in their next life, and most probably deserve to suffocate in their presently generated pollution. Maybe there is justice like that after death, hope so.

Are you denying evidence, CO2 is a pollutant if it is in excess. Mass production co2, by termic energy, fossil fuel is harmful to nature and promotes the greenhouse effect. it’s handle information, speak about brewery, winery…
Americans are doing their backs on reality to maintain your comfort. It’s possible be free and hold our freedom without polluting or less polluting.

I agree it is scientifically proven that CO2 in excess is a pollutant. I still do not agree with the movement that claims global warming is a hoax. It has been documented that our planet has progressively became warmer ever since we entered the industrial revolution. Besides this there have been serious and notable changes in weather patterns as well as abnormal climate changes. There are many conspiracies out there of which I believe in however, this is not one of them.

Who cares if GW is real: there is more then enough work to do on the environment. Replacement of packaging materials with degradable stuff. One of the first things we can do is reduce the wealth and pollution the ultra rich are producing, including the elite banking and industrialists, by reducing their wealth to a certain new maximum. Pollution can be a weapon for injustice (the elite work that out no doubt), but also for justice, depends on who has the power. To make the people have power we need democracy. Environmental problems have to be solved, but that doesn`t necessarily reduce them to an elite weapon. If it is their weapon, then it isn`t the environemtal pollution reality/possible reality that is the problem: it is only those elite people that are and where the problem. (In my mind the elite knows there is a real problem, and they are only trying to turn it to their advantage. Now parts of the left start saying there is no environmental problem merely because it doesn`t want it be used as an elite weapon, but that isn`t going to help IMHO; what helps is removing the elite from power.)
Doubting quite intricate scientific problems is a useless strategy which can backfire in a spectacular way, too. Large parts of the far left (that`s the good guys, pro-people & justice) are going to lose credibility if this “GW is unreal” gamble is not paying out (which I think it won`t, because it is probably real.)
You don`t see the elites make strategic mistakes like this, which is why they remain in power.

Incorrect: they did make the mistake before, when the mass media establishment doubted everything about pollution. Then when it looked they where going to get bypassed they jumped in with “inconvenient truth.” Now they can go both ways without losing credibility.
The left might take example there. Why can AJ and many anti-global warming sites now not go both ways ? This GW issue is not vital, it is not essential to defeating (global) fascism, so why take the risk ? Why take such a treacherous strategy ? My gues is: not an ounce of thinking went into it, it was a knee jerk reaction to the elites using a new weapon. Now what if it comes up wrong, which it easily can ? Not very smart. 1 wrong move, and it could cost you 80% of credibility, which is already pretty low (worsening by taking in D.Icke and the shape-shifing stuff).
Start pumping out suggestions that GW might be true, and that if so it must be dealt with in ways not producing globalist power.
- countries must take their own responcibilities unilaiteraly,
- elites must be removed from banking, industry, and media (see http://www.jhwh.be )
- pollution must be removed by promoting clean sources and consumption reduction (casino`s of miami for instance must power down all external lights except one billboard, for instance).
… I don`t think USA public is capable of this. So let`s give them the hell they create by not solving problems. They will then realize what they`ve done to themselves. What a bunch of fuck-ups. Unfortunately the whole world is a fuck-up.

I don’t believe in anthropogenic global warming (AWG). The earth’s climate has fluctuated wildly over the centuries. We are examining a brief slice of time and attempting to draw long-term conclusions from it.
The earth has gone through periodic ice ages and thaws, long before humans ever started producing excess CO2. In fact, this article claims Earth on the Brink of an Ice Age. It makes sense that we will eventually enter another ice age, just like we’ve done so many times in the past. So why not now?

Perhaps the EPA should consider reviewing the devastating medical ramifications of spraying unsuspecting populations with barium, aluminum, rhodium and bio materials. I can’t blame people for being so disgusted with George W. Bush, that anyone else may seem like a “change” and an improvement. Bush sounded like he either is brain damaged, or should never have stopped drinking. He is incompetent enough to “act” like he has been treated “unfairly” in his speech today even though he has been literally treated like a king. He painfully proves his complete incompetence whenever he speaks. If there was any fairness left he would be on trial for his crimes and unable to show his face in public without hundreds or thousands of shoes being launched at it.

Dave: you are engaging in an unscientific speculative way of thinking. One could just as well say: “why not now,” as “why now.” It is a question that needs research, not a conclusion of any value. To say we are only watching a small time scale is noting part of our lack of knowledge. That likewise means nothing at all either, because within what we don`t know could just as well be the proof that we cause it, as the proof that we don`t (by difinition), so that doesn`t mean anything. It only says as much as: “there is a chance we get it wrong, and by ignoring GW, we might end up lucky.” That is true, it also means we can end up unlucky. It is a completely uninformed wishful thinking kind of gambling, the cost of which could be extreme and much worse then if we took care of things now. You can end up paying 10 times more for GW if it happens to be real, then if we took care of it now when the doubt is by definition greater.
The purpose of science and being rational is to start gathering evidence and understanding. Based on evidence we can then start to take one or the other option as more likely. Why now GW, can`t it be another natural cycle ? Natural cycles have their own causes, which have to be proven and understood. Pollution is an undisputed problem, GW is just one factor of pollution. Reducing pollution in general is likely to reduce GW as well (solar energy means less pollution, also less greenhouse gasses.)
Think about what you`re gambling with: the biosphere. Is “why not now – it`s probably just natural like before, let`s just ignore it and hope for the best” is that the way our species treats its own planet ? That is not rational. Humanity has caused immense pollution, the fact that any change in biosphere chemistry can even be measured should alarm us, *because* we lack knowledge. Is there any evidence that nature is producing global warming ? That`s what you should look into if you say “why not now.” Humanity produced mass pollution, nobody can deny that, it seems to be expected that will have to have consequences. Those concequences would typically be bad, as it is a change for a tuned system (upon which we depend).

Americans are always all to happy to give a little here, a little there and before you know it you will no longer have any more to give. This is all just propaganda to get you to accept the fact that they are taking a much larger piece of your pie and as long as it looks important, you will accept it.
Have you ever sat down and really calculated the amount of money that goes right back to the government after each paycheck? Figure in everything that you spend that you must have such as license plate fees, driver license, taxes on everything, fees for driving the toll roads, fees to park on the streets that you already paid for, emissions tests, registration fees, local, state, region, federal, international and 9/11 fees on your telephone, gas taxes, regional transportation taxes, and the list goes on forever. Now, calculate all of these “Mandatory” fees and taxes and tell me just how free you really are!
Just your income taxes alone force you to work for free up to three or four months each year to pay them all. In Denver, they caused a tax freeze a couple of years ago which causes you to pay taxes on the highest valuation recorded when you purchase a home so if you buy a home for say $100k and three years ago this home was worth $700k, you pay the taxes on the higher amount. Gee, I wonder if they knew the housing crash was coming?
When you figure this all out you will finally learn just how much of a slave you really have become without stopping to realize it, and you could never figure out why you work so DAMNED hard and never seem to get anywhere, NOW YOU KNOW.

I agree with you, Forced.
Until a few years ago governments – the U.S. Government, at least – denied that global warming was a problem. But then when governments discovered that people would willingly submit to higher taxes to “save the planet,” they capitulated and supported the global warming religion with gusto. Duh! When so called “progressive” people are calling for their own taxation and restrictions on their own freedom, that’s a golden opportunity for government.
The motivation for governments to support the global warming religion should be obvious. But what about so called “progressive” leaders? What’s their motivation? Simple. These people, like their brethren on the right – the neocons – want to control peoples’ behavior, to require them to be politically correct, live in small houses, drive small cars – or better yet, not drive at all – abstain from eating meat, and so on. It never occurs to such authoritarians that “freedom” is an option. Let people do as they like as long as they’re not harming you. That’s my motto. I’m not going to tell people how to think, how to live, what to eat, or what religion to practice. I don’t care. I have a rich enough life without needing to meddle in the lives of others. All I ask is that others leave me be and let me live my life as I see fit.
The truth is that I am an environmentalist and take great pains to minimize my impact on this planet. I drive my car only once a week, and it has a four-cylinder engine and averages 33 MPG. Some weeks I don’t even put the trash cans out for collection because I don’t have enough trash. I usually have only one light on in the house at night, in the room I’m occupying, and almost all the lightbulbs in my house are fluorescent ones. I only turn on the central house heater from 6 AM to 6 PM and it’s set for 60F. At night I heat my bedroom with an electric space heater. I use one-fifth of the amount of water allotted to me each month. I never throw out food. And I do all of this voluntarily, not because anyone has ordered me to, or brainwashed me. If others choose to follow my example, great, but I’m not going to force anyone to do so, nor will I look down on them for failing to follow my example. To each his own.
This is what it’s like to be free – able to choose the life you wish for yourself and be tolerant of the choices others make for themselves.

Oh boy… C02 is .038 of 1% of our atmosphere when viewed as a greenhouse gas and compaired to water vapor at 70 to 80% of our atmosphere theres no way aprox 1/30th of 1% of a greenhouse gas is going to drive warming when the main gas swings by 10%.

None of this Global Warming crap is scientific, so as long as everyone is willing to pay for “carbon credits” (a tax that gets passed on), then they will win. The honest man will pay as usual and the crooks will get away with it except for the ones outside of organized crime.

Bottom line is that it’s a worthy goal to try to keep our planet in as close to it’s purist natural state as possible to reduce health risks. Anyone with any sense can see that succeeding in keeping our planet relatively clean would help limit unexpected ramifications from various toxins for biological life of all forms. Warming, cooling – is secondary if we’re breathing, eating and drinking toxins above a safe limit, and toxins are found to be contributing to either weather pattern. Of course, this business of there being a ’safe’ limit can even be questioned. We all have to do what we can. Obama appears to have integrity, but as he is not an expert in every area, he will have to make his decisions based on his advisers’ expertise. If his advisers make it their business to do their homework so as to actually know what they’re talking about, you will see a carbon tax either stay, or be refuted for a superior strategy.
