BBC executives caught up in fakery scandals are rewarded bumper pay rises

Two BBC women executives caught up in the corporation’s fakery scandals have both been rewarded with bumper pay rises

Their increases come as nine out the BBC’s ten most senior executives were handed sizeable bonus payments, despite a terrible year for the broadcaster.

While the corporation was nearly brought to its knees by its deception and job cuts, top bosses shared out a combined pay increase of over £700,000.

Some of it managers managed to get pay rises of more than £100,000 despite the corporation’s claims it is desperately trying to make savings.

While the average staff member at the publicly funded broadcaster saw their pay rise by four per cent, the top brass revelled in a 16 per cent hike.

Politicians branded the moves as ‘rewarding failure’, branding the pay increases ‘horrendous’.

Among those picking up the biggest increases were Director of BBC Vision Jana Bennett and Head of Audio and Music Jenny Abramsky.
