If congress is so outraged that Bernanke refuses to disclose the recipients, then why-o-why does congress keep going along with the scam??? I don’t get it. Corruption in many workplaces (private and govt) is very bad on many levels, and seems to be increasing in USA. This type of corruption can be sort of subtle, and may at times only affect small numbers at one time, but the long term damage to society and to individuals is huge.
Manipulators can take advantage of more than just the naive. No matter how alert and knowledgeable you believe are, the ever dripping small affects of negative influences can build bigger into your mind, until you too can become very susceptible to becoming docile to what you previously found repugnant.
Manipulators, chronic liars, control freaks, and career cheaters are extremely dangerous creatures and they come in all shapes, sizes, and levels of society. Their tactics are always evolving, and can be extremely hideous and without any recognizable patterns. The damage they can deliver can be severe, including chronic pain, destroy your reputation, life long emotional disability, false imprisonment, artificial confinement, death, and even change you into a sheep, or worse make you like one of them. Take it from me, the pain and the limitations they can inflict upon you can be significant.
The overall situation in a recent attack on me has basically changed my life. Now I feel an even great need to continue my formal education, strengthen my demands of respect from others, more quickly flag suspicious behavior, and be more sensitive to following up on social hints and off hand comments.
