Bill To Audit Federal Reserve Now Has 213 Co-Sponsors
New names being added every day, momentum building for Ron Paul

UPDATE – JUNE 11th: Ron Paul’s office has confirmed that the number of co-sponsers is now up to 213
At time of writing, a bill that would see the Federal Reserve bank audited for the first time in 59 years has 207 cosponsers in the House and is gaining traction with every single day.
According to Ron Paul’s Campaign For Liberty, the latest to become cosponsors are, Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-CO) and Rep. Chris Lee (R-NY), both House Financial Services Committee members, as well as Rep. John Boehner (R-OH), Minority Leader of the House.
This means just 11 more cosponsors are needed for a majority to be reached in the House.
If enacted, HR 1207 will amend title 31 of the United States Code and reform the manner in which the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System is audited by the Comptroller General of the United States.
In other words, for the first time since 1950, the the independent financial powerhouse that creates and regulates all money in the US will be forced by law to open its books.
HR 1207 was sponsored and introduced by Rep. Ron Paul. On February 26, 2009, it was referred to the House Committee on Financial Services, where it remains under consideration.
HR 1207 also has a companion bill, S 604: F R Sunshine Act of 2009, in the Senate.
This news also dovetails with reports detailing how the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, the panel responsible for investigating the use of bailout money, has issued a subpoena to the Federal Reserve, asking them to hand over all documents relating to the takeover of Merrill Lynch by the Bank of America.
Claims by New York Attorney-General Andrew Cuomo that former Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke strong-armed BofA into buying Merrill, could see the two exposed to prosecution.
There is no doubt that the privately owned Federal Reserve is in hot water, and it knows it.
As we reported last week, the Fed is hiring a veteran lobbyist to “manage its relations with Congress”. According to a Reuters report, the Fed plans to hire Linda Robertson, who previously worked for now-defunct energy company Enron, as well as the Clinton administration.
It is also no coincidence that the End the Fed movement has recently been targeted by smear campaigns. The MIAC report cited Ron Paul supporters as potential extremists and the United States Army Reserve Command issued “mitigation measures” in response to End the Fed demonstrations around the country last year.

Ron Paul recently explained to Forbes why the passage of HR 1207 is so important:
The Federal Reserve’s recent and unprecedented actions in the realm of monetary policy have provoked a backlash among the American people. Trillions of dollars worth of loans and guarantees have been provided to Wall Street firms, while Main Street Americans suffocate under harsh taxation, the prospect of higher debt levels and increasing inflation. These events have awakened many Americans to problems with the Fed’s loose monetary policy, the bubbles it has created in the past and the potential hyperinflation it might cause in the future.
One of the fallacies of modern economics is the idea that a central bank is required in order to keep inflation low and promote economic growth. In reality, it is the central bank’s monetary policy that causes inflation and depresses economic growth. Inflation is an increase in the supply of money, which in our day and age is directly caused or initiated by central banks. All other things being equal, inflation results in a rise in prices. A so-called “mild” rate of inflation of 3% per year leads to a 56% rise in prices over a 15-year period. Even a “low” rate of inflation of 2% per year leads to a 35% rise over that same period. How is that conducive to long-term growth?
A common misconception is that the Fed is completely independent of political pressures. While the Fed has far too much authority to make agreements with foreign governments and central banks, or create temporary liquidity facilities, the governors and–more important–the chairman, are appointed by the president.
If passed, HR1207 will ensure that the Fed make public the destination of the trillions in taxpayer “loans” that have been simply handed over to private banks without oversight.
Bernanke will be seated before Congress and forced to answer these questions instead of worming his way out of them, citing “extraordinary circumstances” and the like, as we have seen him do over and over for the past eight months.
The bill, if it becomes law, will expose how the Fed has consistently engaged the inflation of the currency for the gain of a few elite international bankers, further exposing how this kind of criminal action has directly led to financial crises and recessions for decades.
An audit would set the stage for the end of the Federal Reserve and a return of honest money and fiscal policies.
Indeed, Jim Grant, editor of Grant’s Interest Rate Observer, today told CNBC that the Fed’s balance sheet is “so out of whack” that the central bank would be shut down if subjected to a audit.
“In essence, the bill requires an audit of the Fed’s activity which shall be made available to Congress,” wrote Glenn Greenwald recently. “What possible arguments exist against this bill? Who opposes an audit of the Fed’s activities and why?”

OMG! I really hope this happens. I can’t imagine what will be found if almost 60 years of FED books are looked over? We need this. Of course, I’m sure it won’t happen as easily as it seems it is going to at the moment. Who knows, maybe people are starting to wake up. I was starting to lose hope,but it is starting to come back now.

I don’t really trust Ron Paul; though he appears to be a crusader for liberty and taking down the fed, don’t forget he’s a high ranking Mason probably sworn to promote the One World Order agenda. Call me extremist, but can you really trust him? Maybe it’s a ploy somehow.

I agree with you MMB;
Dr. Paul has let the cat out of the bag, this will only usher in the NWO money system as the crisis has befallen us. They are ramping it up now and how the American public has been blinded is incredible.
The one reason for this now so seemingly urgent need to audit the fed is to help usher in a one world currency. At the very least it will bring the Amero (or whatever they want to call it) into existence.

Another strong tool that people should consider is writing editorial pieces or responses in their local newspapers. This could possibly wake up more and more people. A simple title like, “Where’s the Bailout Money Going?”, could grab enough attention to get other readers to contact their congress.

Street fights are only going to occur if food is in short supply, food becomes scare and people are required to stand in long lines or a terrorist attack occurs and it’s obvious who did it. There could very well be those food shortages, just like in Argentina. Also, with very high unemployment rates coming up, riots are a very real possibility. There are a lot of factors coming together that could very easily lend itself to a lot of rioting and martial law imposition as a result. At that time, it would be very difficult to keep the people from a street fighting situation. We aren’t quite as dumbed down as before. Also, a hungry population is a dangerous population. Especially to the government forces in power at the time. Ask Marie Antoinette.

I could be wrong, but I believe that tipping point was passed after the Rorsch Case was heard in front of the Supreme Court (concerned medical marijuanna) and the neo-cons attacked the internet so much and tried to make bloggers criminals. 1. As with any other action by the phony conservative Republicans in Congress, none of the media hacks are attacking HR1207 as a partisan tactic as far as I can see. Actually, the media has been conspicuously quiet on this issue.

I’m guessing you don’t have kids right? Maybe those of us who believe that the “US government killed 3,000 of its own people” also realize that at this point we are still not a strong enough force to go to battle? Maybe we realize that we have to be careful because if we push too hard we could be killed leaving our children with no parents. Or worse, unintentionally get our children killed.
When you are a parent you walk a fine line, you have to think about someone other than yourself, instead of bullishly charging ahead. At this point I think it is safe to say that the truth movement is growing exponentially, and that’s a good thing.
Also, as for attacking us for using corporate America, how do you know that? Because we have internet? Do you think we should hide in caves? You can’t really cook the books on a scale like this. The money going out is compared to what is recieved somewhere else. On theirs, it would be impossible to truly hide it all. And even if they tried to cook the books, which they haven’t since they don’t have to show them anyway (at least not yet, and probably not this year either as the bill will probably not make it this year, but maybe after our economy crashes full scale). These books will undoubtedly show where a lot of moneyhas been illegaly used on a large scale. And that audit would end the fed for sure.

As far as I know, the FED has NEVER been audited in it’s 95 + year history. Though there have been several resolutions passed in state legislatures calling for such an audit, especially during the 1980’s. Washington State Senator, Jack Metcalf who later became a U.S. Congressman in the House of Representatives spearheaded much of that movement and predicted the current financial crisis almost 25 years ago in one of his publications. A true patriot. May he rest in peace.
It’s a mandated secret as to who the people that own the fed (those that hold the AAA stock) are. BUT such info. has leaked out and the list reads of a who’s who in international banking.
It has been said that the Fed, the banking cartel and the various foundations that are connected to the owners of the big banks, have been investigated through the years by the Reece Committee and later by Congressman Wright Patman and his committees during the 1960’s and 1970’s. Some of the things they discovered were very frightening and hard to believe. But the findings are in the U.S. Congressional Committee should anybody be interested in checking them out.

I certainly don’t wish to dampen everybody’s ardor. I, as most of you, hope and pray that this House Resolution is passed. What Dr. Paul has done by introducing this legislation is absolutely amazing. Hopefully, it will zoom past both houses and attain “Veto-proof” status.
However, I don’t really believe that even should this HR pass will the Fed ever be required to provide the Executive or Judicial branches of our Government ANYTHING!!!
It will be no different than Dick Cheney’s claim that the Executive Branch of Government is above the law.
The Fed literally OWNS the United States Government and will certain find ways of thwarting any due recourse should the situation arise.
Again, please don’t misunderstand me. I wish it were so as much as the majority of you do. I simply believe that things have gone WAY TOO FAR and that the Fed and people of it’s ilk are simply beyond answering to ANYBODY!!! I certainly hope and pray that I’m proven wrong. As much as Alex sensationalizes all these situations, when I research other, more conservative sources, I remain highly concerned about what has been going on. An informed public is key to keeping corruption at bay. The constitution appears being abused by certain people and entities in government.
Additionally, investing your retirement in stock market is a huge risk, as the markets are corrupt and especially after researching Bernard Madoff scheme, I have only entered the market through abiding by strict rules and by asking for and receiving guidance through dreams.
Dreams continue to warn and guide me on things to come. I still don’t understand some of them, such as the one where a lady’s voice got me out of the stock market on Sept 10, 2007, or one on October 27th, 2008 where I was shown that “The Great Deciever” was in a black stagecoach, preparing to come out of the gates of an evil estate and would be bad for investing my retirement funds at that time.
I am not that great at dreams but the information I have received has coincided to some degree with Alex and when I saw “The Obama Deception,” it gives more credibility to the Great Deciever dream. I continue to research, as the potential for dangerous times lies ahead and I have a family to protect.
By our fruits, we are known. When people hide things, watch out. I thank and pray for people like Alex, Arron Russo, Ron Paul, and many others, who care and have helped to protect the constitution, liberty, and free speech. The risk of losing these people and these things is high. In my mind, we are all responsible for what happens to us and need to get involved. If you don’t believe Alex, check out other sources to verify. If you don’t, then don’t get upset when you lose your rights.

I like Ron Paul. Someone said he was a Mason. That’s crazy. He introduced a bill to end the fed that did not go anywhere, but a bill to audit the fed will have the same affect.
I hope the bill goes through and he does not get killed in the process. If it does go through maybe the banks will take our worthless currency out of circulation and replace with our own issued currency.
