Billboard displays burning World Trade Center with slogan, ‘Please Don’t Vote for a Democrat’

A political billboard in St. Cloud, Florida reads “Please Don’t Vote for a Democrat” over an image of the burning World Trade Center.
Businessman Mike Meehan, who paid for the ad, says he’s “only trying to help Republicans.” The billboard also carries a link for Meehan’s website, TheRepublicanSong.com, at which he says, “I claim to be a man of God” and promotes his political song and video.
Meehan’s song, which appears to have racist overtones, begins, “The Democrat secular progressive move, political correctness is killing us too. They want to take the money from the hard working man, and give it to the lazy folks that don’t give a damn.”

Even Republicans have found the billboard “inappropriate,” and many residents want it to come down. “I’m thinking about the Twin Towers, all the families that were killed there,” one woman told local TV affliate WFTV.
Another local was more accepting, saying, “They can have their opinion. It’s a free country, you want to pay for the ad.”
However, the posters at right-wing site Lucianne.com were enthusiastic about the billboard. “Why isn’t Mike Meehan the Republican presidential candidate?” asked one. “Liberals get abjectly hysterical whenever the truth about them is pointed out,” wrote another. “People who refer to the terrorist attack as a tragedy are morons,” added a third.
The company which owns the billboard says it’s a free speech issue and has no plans to take Meehan’s ad down before the election.

Wait, maybe my memory is failing me, but didn’t 9/11 happen under the Republicans’ watch?

1st Amendment, true enough… Why doesn’t some one that uses their brain, and has some money, counter the billboard with a version that says “Please don’t vote for a republican”…especially in the same field of view of the offending one pictured here.
There is no left or right, republican or democrat…stop thinking within this conjured up, and force-fed 2 party B.S. system. Start thinking in terms of less government or more government, because that’s what we’re fighting here. In other words: Us Vs. Them.
Seems to me that this could be used to our advantage, if someone had the money and balls to do it.

well… the towers are gone… they sat there for how many years i’m not sure… but they burnt for 1 hour and collapsed…
you don’t need planes to bring down a building…
all you need is fire to burn on 5 levels for 1 hour and the building will collapse… i learnt that from all the profesionals on the 9/11 commision….
2 huge buildings… now imagine this… there is no plane… just imagine the 2 building burning on 10 floors towards the top of the building… they are burning, burning, burning…. after just one hour of burning….
they fall at free fall pace… just collapse, the whole thing comes down in seconds, after a fire that burnt for an 1 HOUR on ten floors….

This guy is a moron. Do some research billboard man, your republicans blocked any investigation that was getting close to the terrorist/patsies. Just Google the names John O’Neil, Coleen Rowley, Robert Write, David Schippers, or Ken Williams. You’ll see how concerned your republicans were with trying to stop terrorism. And let’s not forget how Bush and his people tried their best to block the 9-11 investigation. Many of the actual commissioners claim they were set up to fail, that the investigation was compromised. The 9-11 Commision was given one 5th the money that was put toward the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky investigation.
I’m not saying Democrats are any better, but if you’re going to use 9-11 to say “don’t vote Democrat” you should do some research about who was in power when it happened.

All it would take is a Billboard right next to it with an ‘Arrow’ pointing at the sign and text saying:
“… They Might Stop Us Doing This Type Of Thing Again… And Then How Would We Invade Iran?”

I think liberals should post a billboard of a group of ultra conservative, fanatic Christian republicans, on their knees, all praying to Bush, who is standing in a spot light, with white robes and arms outstretched, like he is Jesus.

This is another example of what I heard Alex Jones referring to as “crude propaganda for a crude public” (go to YouTube and search “Alex Jones fake bin Laden video”)
–consider the source of the billboard (the ravening neo-con wolves)
–consider the target audience (we, the sheep-ple)

There needs to be another billboard next to it that shows the other tower and says, “Please don’t vote for a Republican, either.”

Sounds more like propaganda from the Republican machine telling people if they know whats good for them they will vote Republican.
Either way it doesnt matter. This fire sale is not going to stop until people start swinging from trees.

Please don’t vote. Period. You’re only legitimizing the corrup system. Change is not going to come from voting on rigged machines. Isn’t the definition of insanity doing the same thing over & over expecting a difft result…?

Better yet, have a billboard with an image of George Bush with his head up his ass, that says
“Republicans destroyed America”.
