Most comments are correct, however the majority have failed to project that the dollar will continue to fall until the US Government and treasury understand you can not prop up a sick economy. We are not only sick, we are dying!!! Expect the DOW to hit 5750 in 2009 and 3600 in 2010. Gold and Silver will languish until the Depression starts to feel like a depression. Unemployment will touch 10.5% (US stats) and 16% in 2010. Those beginning protection efforts now have a chance of pulling through this crisis by 2020.

You haven’t seen nothing yet!!!!! I can’t wait until 2012. Gold-Guns-Silver-Land!!!

Roosevelt did in 1934, when the economy falls and the dollar is destroyed, our assigned dictator will again confiscate the gold and it will be illegal to own gold. They will confiscate it, give you $400 an ounce, then they will re-introduce it at $ 600 an ounce.

They paid $ 20 an ounce in 1934, then re-introduced it back at $35 an ounce. How interesting that we still don’t learn from history.

Invest in China or India, they are the next big economic powers.

If there was a legitimate shortage of physical gold then there would be a severe drawdown of inventories on the exchange as investors take delivery. This is something that may happen down the track but at the moment the high prices that dealers are charging looks to be a fabrication issue with coins and small bars.

I think I am going to be sick ! This whole affair with the economy and the stock market is so sensless.The only legitimate reasons for an economy to collapse is some sort of massive disastor ”,generaly speaking a huge natural disastor” or a true shortage of natural resources.As long as people have needs,the economy of a nation or world should be just damed fine ! Since the people of this country,”and the world for that matter,” have not suddenly become needless,the only explanation for this so called financial collapse is that it is intentional.If an economy of global proportions can be so manipulated by such a small minority of psychopaths as the NWO,then it means that there is something intrinsicaly wrong with that economy.

It is high time to allow this old capital based economy to die and make room for a need based economy.Forget the damed gold,the stocks,the bonds and the securities.People need food,clothing ,shelter,water,means of transportation,medical care and other needs that do not change.Our ability to sustain ourselves and pursue happiness should not be dependent upon the whims of wallstreet,nor upon uncontrolable and often fictional market laws.

Norman & CM, I can’t bring myself to invest in GLD or SLV. The ever increasing disconnect between paper gold and street gold prices, combined with the outright theft and fraud we’ve witnessed from our ‘greatest’ public and private institutions has destroyed my trust in these vehicles. I’m sticking with physical and trusted dealers, craig’s list, and pawn shops. I’ve found several pawn shops willing to deal for straight cash without taxes or records. You just have to sniff them out and show them you’re serious…Best of luck, CD
