Bolton: Gaza Conflict Could Lead To U.S. Attack On Iran

Top Neo-Con John Bolton told Fox News yesterday that the conflict in Gaza could lead to a U.S. attack on Iran as the former U.S. ambassador to the UN exploited the crisis to propagandize for a new war.
“So while our focus obviously is on Gaza right now, this could turn out to be a much larger conflict,” said Bolton, adding that “we’re looking at potentially a multi-front war here.”
“I don’t think there’s anything at this point standing between Iran and nuclear weapons other than the possibility of the use of military force possibly by the United States, possibly by Israel,” added the former ambassador, suggesting that a strike on Iran’s facilities by Israel alone would be risky but could push Iran back by three or four years.

Bolton’s ceaseless fearmongering about Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon contradicts the U.S. intelligence community’s own National Intelligence Estimate, which concluded that Iran abandoned its nuclear weapons program in 2003 and was highly unlikely to develop a nuclear weapon this decade.
Bolton’s implication that other Arab states would support an attack on Iran to prevent them from obtaining nuclear weapons, and in his own words “pop champagne corks,” is a ludicrous claim. Bolton is actually trying to suggest that Arabs celebrate when the U.S. attacks the Middle East. The invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan alone have stoked anti-US sentiment across the Middle East and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, far from being viewed as a dangerous tyrant, is seen as more of a “hero” across the Middle East, according to a 2007 L.A. Times investigative report.

An attack on Iran by the US and Israel could lead Russia into giving idiot Israel a nuclear “SWAT” they wont soon forget. Remember what Putin said: A war against Iran is considered a war against Russia. They tried that already in Ossetia to test the waters, and when a real army came to fight, whatever IDF troops were there, turned tail and ran. So much for the “Vaunted” IDF. Doesn’t this sound just like the excuse for invading Iraq? Iran doesn’t have nuclear weapons, he says they are “working on a nuclear weapon program” and then keeps emphasizing how dangerous Iran would be with nukes, this seems like he’s trying to put in the minds of Americans that we have no choice but to attack them first. I find this ludicrous and I certainly don’t see other Middle Eastern countries popping champagne corks if America invaded Iran. It sounds even like he’s slyly implying we are heading to a world war. This guy is dangerous and should not be in a position of power.

One of the crimes I’ve always felt Bolton should be charged with is the attempted mass murder of African peoples back during his Reagan days. Remember the harassment charges when he was being nominated for UN Ambassador? They weren’t sexual, they concerned paying back Nestle for their backing Reagan during his campaign. He wanted to send their baby formula through the food agencies despite the products having been shown to increase diarrhea in infants. Said diarrhea is quite deadly in these countries. When I majored in anthropology (which includes ancient civilizations), I learned that war is a tool of the Elite, and the only reason it has ever been “essential” is to aid the rich in exerting power over the poor and working classes. Had there been no US-held economic interests in Germany there would have been no reason for us to invade.

I didn’t mean to offend you — I felt your responses to other people’s posts to be rather attacking. You’re right to focus on the subject.
So, onto the subject, I would like to say that I feel that, even though Hamas seems to have been harrassing the Israeli force, the response is much too strong — I believe it’s never good to attack innocents, no matter what reason.
I believe it goes too far to go all anti-jewish/zionistic — I think that, just like with nearly every other government, the israeli government is irresponsible, even evil (though as they say, good and evil is a point of view), but so is Hamas — as they too attack civilians, though with less effect.
I feel really sorry for the people in Gaza. I don’t think they deserve to be treated like this, impoverished, cut off from gas, light, and so forth, and maybe on the brink of destruction if this keeps escalating.
the USA’s role is that it vetoes anything that goes against this conflict — It seems there won’t be any peace (a situation which seems to be influenced by higher-ups) as both sides (Palestinians and jewish people) have bought the land, both from others (I think the Jewish from the English, and the Palestinians from the French).
A peaceful solution isn’t as easy as it seems though. Diplomatically, peace doesn’t automatically mean happiness and freedom — Tyranny and oppression could just as much be labeled peace.
I just hope that we’ll be able to discuss this in a better, more well-mannered way. Once again I apologise for my earlier offending comment. I just feel it’s better to discuss with an open mind instead of with infighting.

You know what JC, I feel sorry for those people there too; everybody does and have for years now. I don’t know how old you are, but after dealing with the same old crap for decades there comes a time when something has to break.
Given that we are at war with terrorists and any country that harbors them I can understand Israels viewpoint. Terrorists are shooting rockets from neighborhoods in the Gaza Strip and they would just as soon be shooting them at New York or LA; we all know that is true. If I couldn’t stop people/terrorists from shooting rockets from MY neighborhood, then I would leave and join those fighting the terrorists and take my land back. You and others can just keep talking and knit-picking and the killing just goes on and on or you can break some eggs and make that omelet.
At some point you just have to say enough is enough and go after those murdering terrorists. The fact that you or others come back and say that the Palestinians/Hamas are the victims is only prolonging the misery over there. Keeping the State of Israel in tact also makes America safer in my opinion and it has in the past, so there is more reasons for me to support Israel in putting a final end to this back and forth. I’m not going to change your mind just as people in the Gaza Strip are not going to change unless forced to by Israel.

I think I’m still wrong in many sides, as there are so many more things in play, it seems, in this conflict. I’d need to research more, and type vastly more to give a decent summary of the situation.
For the USA to want to use this to possibly unleash WW3, well, that’s one hell of a scary thought. Plausibility isn’t really big though, I doubt there’s much chance they can pull it through. The polls in the papers and other media show large public approval for their IDF massacring hundreds of mostly non-combatant men, women & kids. The bible tells everything thats going to happen but the religious idiots have no clue what it says. On 10-10-09 the usa will set off the nuke it stole last year. On that same day, by lunchtime, russia and china, together with the whole SCO, will destroy the usa and israel. there will be numerous nukes, an invasion of 200 million, and an occupation untile Nibiru causes the great earthquakes that set off yellowstone. This will kill 5/6 of the 200 million invaders. they will be buried in the grand canyon and the remaining 10% of americans will rebuild the temple (the usa). Those who are taken captive in all the lands will not return.
