British soldier faces 10 years in jail after being arrested during anti-war demonstration

A soldier facing charges of desertion for refusing to return to Afghanistan has been arrested and charged with five further offences after joining an anti-war demonstration.
Lance Corporal Joe Glenton led a protest in London last month against the continued presence of British troops in Afghanistan.
He was already facing a court martial but according to the Stop the War Coalition the new charges carry a maximum of 10 years imprisonment.
The group’s convener Lindsey German said last night : ‘This is not about breach of military regulations. In the last few days a range of military personnel have been speaking in the media in defence of this appalling war. I doubt if any of them have been arrested.

Why Afghanistan isn’t worth the life of one good man never mind the 1500 plus we’ve lost. What is the goal there? We’re not fighting Al-Qaeda we’re fighting the Taliban. Why? If the Afghani’s want to be free let them fight the Taliban.

Fuck you and the first world war. You think the faggats that send you to protect opium fields and pipelines give a rat’s ass about you. As long as you’ll kill for them they’ll put a gold star on your lunchbox and play a neat tune for you. When you come home with half your parts in a box and your wife and family are heartbroken they won’t give a shit and you didn’t do anything but put this country at greater risk for future violence as the Afgans and Iraqi’s never invaded us or attacked us, The Isreali’s sure are thrilled with all our wars though, they’d even like another. i can understand why the tearful widows and fatherless children always say ‘he died a hero’ ‘we’re so proud of him’ etc… the truth or what and why they died for is too much to bear… so they perpetuate the lie’s and bull…. meanwhile the bankers, arms makers and puppet politicians who orchestrate the whole stinking mess get off scott free…

LOL!!! You Yanks are the most controlled people on the planet. There are few free thinkers but 99.9% are conformists and do as they are told. Even when the cops pull you over or arrest you, you assume the position face done on the ground. This does happen any where in the world other than the US. It was an incremental process starting with spreading them on the cars hood.
