I thought the Army solders in Iraq were our “ambassadors of liberty”. Does this mean the gymnastics team will be doing their routines in camo? Or maybe the track team will be running their races with M16’s. If they did, it would pretty much sum up what the United States has become, and what we look like to the rest of the world.

How dare that bastard Bush. “ambassadors of liberty”?! He talks of liberty as if it is a brand-name. He speaks as if we are the holiest of holiest in the world. Some kind of shining beacon of freedom and hope to the civilized world (sounds like bush speak there).
Consider this analogy. It’s like some new CEO takes over a company, and runs it into the ground. Then, he speaks of all kinds of accomplishments of the past as if they are his own. As if, just because he is the figurehead, he can ride the wave of past success.
America can only be tarnished so much before nobody wants anything to do with it. Bush, this isn’t your brand to sell. You are the one defeating any meaning “ambassadors of liberty” might mean.
