Chavez warns of US war against Venezuela

Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez has renewed his charges that the US and Colombia have sealed a “devil’s pact” to wage war against Venezuela.
For the second time in little over a week, Chavez called for his military and the country’s militia to prepare for war to protect the sovereignty of Venezuela against the threat posed by the US using Colombian soil.
“I am not calling for war. The party provoking war is the imperial Yankee. It is my duty to call all Venezuelans to prepare for the struggle to defend this fatherland,” Chavez said on Friday, Dpa reported.
Chavez is furious over last month’s signing of a military cooperation deal between Bogota and Washington granting the US the use of seven military bases on Colombian soil.
Colombia and the US signed the pact in late October. The agreement allows for a maximum of 800 US military personnel and 600 contractors in Colombia. Prior to the deal, there were anywhere from 71 to 210 US military officers in Colombia.
Chavez also warned that US President Barack Obama was traveling “the same path” as former US president George W. Bush.
He called Colombian President Alvaro Uribe a “traitor” who has signed over Colombian Sovereignty to the “imperial” power of the US.
“We are obligated to protect the fatherland of Simon Bolivar,” Chavez said, referring to the famous hero of the South American independence movement.
Chavez reassured that Venezuela would never attack anyone else, “but we are prepared to defend ourselves, and it will be costly for the aggressor.”

Chavez kicked out big oil from his country. He seems to be generally concerned for his citizens in Venesuela. Big oil of Texas was polluting his country big time with oil waste and by-products, ruining their water and air. So as a result Chevez has been demonized by Bush , the CIA and big oil.
Then if you remember, about 4 years ago Chavez offered to sell cheap heating fuel oil to the residents of New England when the winter there was snowy and cold. This really pissed off the Oil Cartel of Texas. So Chavez has a uphill struggle on his hands. Good luck to him. Just watch out for the CIA Jackel.

Chavez isn’t any great shakes either. To say he cares about his own people is a misnomer, what he really enjoy’s is lining his own pockets, as evidenced by his spectacular and growing net worth, however, his country does have the cheapest gasoline in the world and the cheapest energy as a whole. However he hasn’t had much luck cleaning up the mess left by BP and Exxon, in fact the pollution is getting worse. He recently “Nationalized” all of the gold fields in the country…but you can bet the people won’t see “Cheap” gold now.
He is loved in some circles, despised in other’s, just like every communist dictator. I would have a lot more faith in his populist words if he set up a Republic and held open HONEST elections. Mostly he’s a bombastic gas bag who has his foot on the throat of his country…
All of this is not saying America should become involved…let them sort it out themselves. They always have, and they always will, without any help from us.

I’m country but I can’t defend watching cars going around a circle. I’ve sat there and watched them go around in a circle. I’d rather watch a mud puddle dry up. The stuff is nothing, but a bunch of cars and you don’t know what’s what.
