Former Vice President Dick Cheney on Monday said he is concerned about U.S. forces withdrawing from Iraqi cities within 24 hours.
Mr. Cheney told The Washington Times’ America’s Morning News radio show that he is a strong believer in Gen. Ray Odierno, commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, and that the general is doing what needs to be done.
“But what he says concerns me: That there is still a continuing problem. One might speculate that insurgents are waiting as soon as they get an opportunity to launch more attacks.
“I hope Iraqis can deal with it. At some point they have to stand on their own. But I would not want to see the U.S. waste all the tremendous sacrifice that has gotten us to this point.”

It absolutely will have been entire waste if we pull out of Iraq at a time when the Iraqis are not able to continue on the path of success and peace that they are on now.

Don’t worry, moron, our “withdrawal” will leave behind at least 100,000 troops stationed at unbelievably huge military bases, and there will be even more private contractors there, as Cheney himself is well knows, and only an idiot like you would be unaware of.

Cheny fears Iraq withdrawal will give the Iraqi people the incentive to retake control of their own oil supply and will waste his effort to have the monopoly over the majority of the oil in the middle east.

“Continue on the path of success and peace” LMAO on that one
The only success is for the Big Oil Companies who will now move in and take over the oil production that was once owned by the people (nationalization)
I guess it may be good for us when they start producing oil once again but I doubt very much if the big corporations will share their profits with the little people of the US like some of our PIG officials stated before we started this whole affair
I guess Korea, Germany, Japan etc etc still need us there to make sure they are on the path of success and peace
LMAO all day long with your illogical comments reco
Lets give them a little more torture, depleted uranium and lead to help them on their way to peace and success

The only success in Iraq has been for Halliburton and defense contractors who have ripped of the Tax payers at the expense of 4500 American soldiers who had no business being there in the first place. Bush made a case for war using bogus information and every dirty trick in the book so his buddies could loot and plunder a country that posed no threat to the US . Money hungry pigs like Cheney can’t stand to see the cash cow die until every dime and every drop of oil has been confiscated.

If Cheney were to hang him self the sacrifices of the soldiers in Iraq would be even. Cheney, you made your money from the blood of the soldiers. Go find a corner and die you NWO piece of shit.

Every moment spent in Iraq is yet another moment being exposed to extremely toxic uranium dust. So, how many Americans are already the walking dead from their already exposure?
June 29th, 2009 at 7:41 pm
Alot of Americans have paid the ultimate sacrifice, the only thing left to do is to leave and not look back. There was never a plan for the stability of Iraq in the first place. The first few hours of the invasion was to capture and secure the Ministry of Oil in Basra. The Iraqis don’t want anything to do with us and it is time to leave. The true mission there was never really outlined and the Commanders on the ground were shooting from the hip on what they wanted to happen. Here is what they got a huge fucking insurgency that came out of all holes and just caused a world of hurt for every American that came to Iraq. I am not ever wanting to ever go back to that desert at the expense of the U.S Government. The only reason that we entered Sadr City was because of the IZ getting fucked up for 2 weeks straight. I went to that city and it was a small area that had a stranglehold on the entire capital.
June 29th, 2009 at 8:01 pm
Waste sacrifices? You gotta be kidding! More sacrifices, and for WHAT? Send Cheney to the front and watch him run like a coward.
besides, this is rediculous, the troops are going nowhere but outside city limits. It’s all a big farse to make people think they are withdrawing, but people, they are not going anywhere, never will. The US has NEVER withdrawn from any country, that’s 122 countries so far loaded with bases. They need to be there for the war expansoins into Pakistan and Iran.
American citizens will continue to be used to pay for the wars that will eventually break the country up.
June 30th, 2009 at 3:59 am
What is with Cheney? He was the VP under Bush when SOFA was signed. He could have done something then if he wanted to. Is he trying to stur up more trouble to sell his book again? Regardless if you agree with the war or not (Id assume that the mass majority here dont, and I being still active duty will leave my opinion on the matter private) in every counter-insurgency operation you have to hand over the security opterations over to the host country. At a minamum Cheney is a hypocrite for putting out this statement when he was the one who was VP at the time SOFA was signed.

I’m a daily reader of prisonplanet, one of those who watches and rarely contributes! For religious reasons i am also one who refrains from swearing and any dirty, vain or idle talk. Reconmarine is winning here because in virtually every reply to his posts, there is a torrent of foul language and morally corrupt written thoughts and ideas. He could and is posting here all day – a newbie reading this, with any sense of moral integrity, may form a negative impression about the lot of you for this simple reason. Reconmarine: 1 Truthers: 0
If you cant simply ignore him, just post basic refutations of his points with the minimum of text – and then rapidly move on, back to the matter in hand. How long is this thread now? most of it is a collection of outrages and insults aimed at Reconmarine! and this is supposed to attract Miley to InfoWars? I’d say Reconmarine has won this round?

what gets my blood boiling is this statement: “The troops are in Iraq serving America.”
This is pure bullshit!!
American troops are in Iraq serving a twisted, degenerate and perverted idiology no different then the nazis.
They are not serving America!!
They are serving Bush, Chaney, Pearl and don’t forget Isrealhell.
But…they are not serving America!
Before this crap was started, I said this would come to no good for anybody. well, I was aprtially wrong…it made a great deal of money for corporate warnmongers such as Hellaburtin, KBR, GE and don’t forget Chaney’s personal investment with his old bosses. Everybody else trapped in that hellhole over there will and are paying a very heavy price for the benefit of a wealthey and powerful few. Just as the Viet Nam war profited only a few while the rest suffered greatly.
The corruption, crimminal activities commited by our own troops, even against their own is nothing to be proud of. Rape, murder and thievery, commited every day. American women serving over there are being raped by their own comrades. Iraqi children have been sodomized by Amerikan troops. The litany of crimes goes on and on.
Those who continue to support this monstrous and crimminal act are themselves just as guilty and culpable as those who actually commited the crimminal acts.
Oh and by the way god had nothing to do with it.
So fellow Americans we will be taught a very dreadful lesson soon and many will weep, wail and moan, but you get what you deserve.

One of the key problems with the violence in Iraq is the high unemployment rate. It ranges from 60-80% in major parts of the country. With numbers that high, the civilians in Iraq are willing to throw a hand grenade for $50. http://www.newsy.com/videos/u_.....e_for_good Maybe the US should have spent more time building employment opportunities instead of bombing cities.

Right on Jolly … you nailed it right on the jugular , and without using fowl language ( I don’t consider bullshit fowl language when used in context ) . I’ll add that if you look down through the anus of ancient history , you will find that more than ninety five percent of all major wars were the result of the ruling class brainwashing the lower classes into taking the battlefield …maybe they needed a job, who knows ? So that means there was always a conspiracy … oh no no no no no !!! … I”m not supposed to use that word … that’s a dirty word !!! … they should remove that word from the Oldspeak dictionary !!! … there’s no such thing as a conspiracy … conspiracies never existed throughout history … hey , I just came up with a euphemism for conspiracy … how ’bout a think tank ? … conference ? … convention ?… consortium ? … papal blessing ?

Dick Cheney is a nationalist with patriotic intentions. But like majority of American people, especially the soldiers, he does not understand Arabs, and he does not understand Islam. Nothing America can do to stop violence in Iraq. It is a question that must be answered along tribal lines and religious divide. To put American boys there is only for them to be in the middle of the hatred between the tribes, and hatred between believers and unbelievers who follow a man and not Allah as Prophet Mohammed PBUH commanded us. Look at American history. Did they not have civil war before joining as one country? Okay. This is how it must be in Iraq. Now Saddam is not here to push the argument down by using killing squads. Whatever American constitution is written in Iraq, it can never be implemented because it is not rooted in Islam. Americans must understand that religion is very important to us, and to make Iraq a country that is ruled by unbelievers who follow Ali is something that can never happen.
