What really happened at 7 W.T.C. on Sept. 11, 2001? Government investigators say they know the truth.
Fires, and not controlled demolition, caused the collapse of the tower, claims a new report from the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The institute, a federal scientific agency which promotes technical industrial standards, is the first government agency to present an all-encompassing theory of the building’s demise.
But that theory is being met with consternation among those who believe something more sinister was afoot on 9/11.
“It has been a mystery since 9/11,” said CNN’s Deborah Feyerick in a Friday report. “Why did World Trade Center building seven collapse nearly seven hours after the twin towers fell?
“Was it diesel fuel in the building? Or planted explosives, a controlled demolition of government offices as conspiracy theorists allege in films like Loose Change?”
No, says Dr. Shyam Sunder, who directed NIST’s team of researchers in the investigation. Fire triggered a “new phenomenon” — thermal expansion of structural steel, which caused a cascade of collapsing floors, ultimately bringing the building down symmetrically, into its own footprint.
“This is the first time that we’re aware of, that a building over 15 stories tall has collapsed primarilly due to fire,” said Dr. Sunder during Thursday’s NIST press conference. Had the city’s water mane not been cut, and WTC 7’s sprinkler systems been active, the building may still stand, he said.
Still, said CNN, conspiracy theorists are “not swayed” by the report, though the news channel failed to provide any reason why some still cling to differing opinions of WTC 7’s collapse.
Richard Gage, founder of the activist group Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, is chief among those promoting alternatives to the fire theory.
“Tons of [molten metal] was found 21 days after the attack,” said Gage in an interview with a Vancouver, Canada television station. “Steel doesn’t begin to melt until 2,700 degrees, which is much hotter than what these fires could have caused.”
His group has membership of over 400 architectural and engineering professionals, who say that they have the science to back up their claims. They argue thermite, a steel cutting agent used by the military and controlled demolitions companies, was responsible for bringing the building down.
“FEMA found it,” said Gage during a press conference on Thursday. “Dr. Steven Jones found it, in the dust that landed in the entire area of lower Manhattan. And he finds it in the chunks of previously molten metal [from the towers].”
“Investigators said they did consider certain so-called ‘conspiracy theories,’ reported CNN. “But none held up.”
“Alternative theories are, really, none of them have been found to be credible,” said NIST’s Dr. Sunder.
Glenn Corbin, a fire expert interviewed by CNN, said he believes the most important thing to take away from the NIST report are means of making skyscrapers safer.

This is insane!!!! What the hell!!??! These people didn’t explain ANYTHING. They had a bit of BAD SIMULATION, that looks NOTHING like the collapse of WTC7 collapse. They said that they have “SHOWN” that a fire can cause perfectly symetrical collapse? You didn’t show ANYTHING. This conspiracy is disgustingly huge, how can they continue to do these bad scientific reports?!
These scientists are being extremely ridiculous and evil. How can they say that there is no good science supporting alternative theories?? They are just trying to make the public think that anyone who believes something else happened on 911 is a nut.

I have always wondered how, in the 1963 Kennedy assassination, the governmental idiots made people believe that they really didn’t see what actually took place. I asked myself, “How could people be so stupid?” But now, post-911, it’s obvious. People believe what they want to believe despite not only what their eyes tell them, but what the acutal physical evidence says as well. There is an abundance in both cases. It is a shame that people are so easily fooled and so ready to believe anything but the truth. Like the Kennedy assassination, no matter how much evidence we have, conspiracy will fly for years to come. It is obvious to anyone with a half eye and two sense that those buildings were rigged to collapse. And these so-called intellectual people are making themselves look very ignorant to suggest otherwise, I don’t care how much education they have. The evidence goes against physical laws to suggest that the collapses were caused by a fire alone. Free fall speed suggests there was nothing underneath the crash area to either stop the collapse altogether or at least slow it down. The lower floors were not damaged.The fact that the buildings withstood the 500+ mph airline impact attests to the strength of the buildings. Anyone who says that they collapsed solely due to damage and subsequent fire is more stupid than they look. These intelligent “officials” don’t care how ignorant they look. Their main objective is to maintain the status quo.

Not to mention the million+ people who have died since the start of the Iraq war whose families (if they are still alive) deserve answers. The FACT IS that NIST DID NOT CONSIDER ANY CONTROLLED DEMOLITION HYPOTHESIS! They freely admit that they did not consider this! So, how exactly is this Dr. Sunder coming to the conclusion that ‘alternative theories’ are ‘not credible’ when no scientific method was applied to this hypothesis.
Sounds like Dr. Sunder is injecting his own political prejudices into his “scientific” investigation.
Don’t forget their ‘investigation’ into towers 1 and 2. Here’s something from their own literature:

Yeah, maybe… but this is not the instructions of Larry Silverstein. They specifically said to pull the building. And that’s what they did. And we watch the building collapse.

I didn’t get a chance to read your FINAL report on what brought down Building 7 but did see that the men of science at NIST have attributed the collapse to “thermal expansion”. I’ll bet all the research to come up with this official explanation cost taxpayers millions of dollars. I know a way you could have saved all that money. You should have watched the YouTube video that’s ALL OVER the internet where Larry Silverstein, the lease holder of the World Trade Center, says they brought Building 7 down on purpose:

Was NIST unaware of Mr. Silverstein’s comments from 2001? Now that your FINAL report is out are we supposed erase Larry Silverstein’s declaration of how Building 7 came down? Should we suspend all reasoning and accept your explanation? Something is terribly wrong here. For so many people to go out of their way to explain away reality is very alarming. What possible motivation could be behind such blatant distortion of the facts?

NIST did not provide any evidence to substantiate their position that WTC& was brought down by fire. This would not be an issue if Flight 93 was able to continue on course instead of being accidently shot down before it could crash into WTC 7. Shot down? The reason why they waited nearly seven hours to pull the WTC7 was because either they were planting bombs in there or setting up fires to make it look the fire came from the planes but it did not. Seven hours is more than enough to plant bombs on the buildings and set up fires there as they did.

Interesting “explanatory” animation.
Notice how in the animation, the collapse is shown to take place at the right side of the building. However, if you analyze the video of the collapse, you can see that the first portion of the building to fail was the centre.
Now, I may not be a very serious looking scientist (who’s very good at pointing at laptops screens and looking intelligent for the cameras) but that seems like a pretty fundamental problem to me.

Recently the BBC tried to debunk the 911 Conspiracy theories.
They finished by saying that WTC7 “collapsed”.
Completely missing out Larry Silverstein admitting on camera he asked the Fire Dept to “pull it”..down.
The BBC showed a small amount of the building on fire and said it was an “inferno”.
If it was an inferno…how could the Fire Dept have entered the building to organise a controlled demollition?
Err…it collapsed…BUT the BBC said it came down at 4.57pm…the girl reporter told the world…. with the building still standing over her left shoulder.
After a few minutes of embarrassment they pulled the plug on the story.
The building actually “collapsed” at 5.20pm!!!!!!
The girl reporter and the anchorman that day both now doubt the official theory.
As for the idiot “expert” who says they aim to learn lessons and make high rise buildings safer…let us call a time out and lie down and laugh.
Only three such buildings have ever collapsed from fire.

Rather than NIST explaining simply how the building collapsed, i’d rather them answer the question “How did it collapse at the rate of Gravity, into itself, with barely any concrete or steel remains above 1 story high.” or “How did the collapse of the building pulverize Concrete, Glass and other office materials into a cloud of dust”. The General Question of how the building collapsed is too vague and can be dodged.

The funniest part is that they keep referring to anyone who doesn’t buy this nonsense as “conspiracy theorists”. It’s so obvious that fire caused all of the reinforced steel columns to fail at the exact same time collapsing the building straight down causing as least damage as possible to the surrounding buildings. What more can you say? This “official” report has been in the works for years. Silverstein will say he was “distraught” at the time of his infamous statement and deny anything on public record. I would say that he needed this NIST report for his insurance policy. Wonder how much they paid him for this one? Now that’s something you’re not hearing on MSM. He’s claiming for two seperate terrorist attacks on the towers. Is 7 going to be what they now call “collateral terrorist damage”? If they can invent thermal expansion couldn’t they concoct this? How do they explain the samples of iron and molybdenum spherules found in the WTC dust, which were molten then resolidified? Molybdenum melts at over 4700 degrees. Samples also contained traces of potassium and manganese. These are used to ignite thermite, as potassium permanganate, which attains such ludicrous temperatures. reveals that the collapse of WTC 7 started at second 17 and completed at second 23. That is a total of 6 seconds.
It can be easily shown that this building collapsed in the same time it would take an apple to fall from the roof of this building and hit the ground – a free fall.
Let’s do a simple calculation:
distance travelled = initial velocity * total time + 1/2 * acceleration * total time^2
or
s = ut + 1/2at^2
Since the apple was stationary before falling (just like building was prior to collapse), u = 0.
Since the height of the building was 174 meters, s = 174.
Since we are at ground level the gravitational field strength is a constant, so a = 9.8 m/s^2
Now,
174 = 0 t + 1/2 9.8 t^2
Solving for t
t = sqrt( 2 * 174 / 9.8)
= 5.9590
Well look at that, an apple would take 6 seconds to fall from the roof of WTC 7, just the same amount of time it took WTC 7 to collapse.
The 10 year old intellect can easily deduce then that WTC 7 must’ve undegone free fall, further deducing that the ENTIRE STRUCTURE MUST’VE COLLAPSED SIMULTANEOUSLY.
No minor fires can do that, _ONLY_ syncronized explosions can.

I was a tenant at WTC1 from 1978 to 1980. The ONLY issue people should focus on as the “key issue” is: When the towers were proposed for construction, many New Yorkers were concerned that if the towers fell, they could take-out twenty or thirty other buildings. So, with that in mind the towers were built around a steel “center” grouping of massive steel support columns that in the unlikely event the towers were going down, the floors would pancake on each other straight down around the steel center core. The towers were built to do that.
Here is the key to it all: As designed and in the event of a collapse, the steel cores of WTC1 and WTC2 would be LEFT STANDING. There is NO WAY in hell the center core would come down unless it was demolished level by level to fall with the collapsing floors. No ifs; and; or buts! End of story! Period!
I am really getting tiered of watching people being played for idiots in propaganda plays to confuse valid; indisputable; facts.
This ONE FACT brought forward here is indisputable. It establishes the towers steel center core was demolished to drop with the collapsing floors. The design would have left the steel core intact in the event of collapse.
If you let someone drag you off to speculation and theories it is very counterproductive to the sniper bullet kill shot! The clowns (on the inside) that pulled this off have been laughing all the way to the bank each and every day since September of 2001 without any consequence.

For you morons who believe fire would melt steel? I worked at U.S. Steel, Gary, Indiana for 8 years. 1976 to 1984. I was a rigger. Before I got laid off, I worked as a temperature taker in the continuious caster. BOP #1. Liquid steel is 2850 degrees.
Jet fuel burns at 1100 degrees. (Continuious feed of fuel.) Not hot enough to melt high grade steel.
I work at present in a glass manufacturing company. Liquid glass before it hits the moulds? Temperature is 1200 degrees. Sometimes the “gobs” of glass misfire and fall on the 1/8″ steel platform. Never melts through the platform.

Honestly, all you have to do is watch the animation that NIST created to realize what a hoax their whole report is. The animation only shows a partial collapse of one side of the interior before the exterior seems to start to buckle and fall into itself. I suppose that’s when the rest of the building is supposed to have followed, but guess what? THEY DON’T EVEN SHOW THE WHOLE ANIMATION!!! It’s clearly evident the reason they don’t show the whole thing is because their timing of the event does not match the timing of the REAL LIVE EVENT. The event we all have witnessed time and time again. The simulation lasts about 18 seconds and the building is still standing. But after about 8 seconds in REAL LIFE, the building was gone! In the simulation it even appears that the building was starting to tip over backwards, but in REAL LIFE, that did not happen. It fell straight down and went poof.
You know, it doesn’t even matter at this point if it was Neocons or Wookies that planted the explosives, it’s the forensic evidence that doesn’t lie. That building did NOT collapse due to fires. Perhaps all the related films about 911 produced before and since were made to condition the public into acceptance of the official “planes” fantasy. Real planes would have been a potential liability for the perps on 911. It was easier to control the outcome of the event with much less risk by using the media to broadcast fake imagery.
