Colin Powell Warns Of Coming Crisis “We Don’t Even Know About Right Now”
Echoes Biden comments that Obama will be tested in early days of his term

Colin Powell has made bizarre comments that echo the recent declaration by Democratic VP candidate Joe Biden that there will be an “international crisis” early into Barack Obama’s presidency that will test the new president by forcing him to make unpopular decisions.
Speaking on meet the press two days ago, Powell officially endorsed Obama and also made the following statement:
“The problems will always be there and there’s going to be a crisis which will come along on the 21st, 22nd of January that we don’t even know about right now.
So I think what the President has to start to do is to start using the power of the oval office and the power of his personality to convince the American people and convince the world that America is solid, that America is going to move forward, we are going to fix our economic problems, we’re going to meet out overseas obligations.”

Is Colin Powell referring to a theoretical crisis that could occur at any time? If so why does he choose a specific date, within the first two days after the inauguration? Also why does he refer to general problems that the new president will have to deal with in a separate context? We are already in an economic crisis, everyone knows that, so what new crisis is Powell talking about?

Whatever you read into Powell’s comments, they sound somewhat bizarre, particularly as they come on the back of Joe Biden’s “guarantee” of a “generated crisis” to “test the mettle” of the new leader within six months of the new presidential term:
What does Biden mean by “generated crisis”? It is an undeniably strange term to use.
His reference to John F. Kennedy indicates that Biden may have been referring some kind of geopolitical crisis in the vain of the Cuban missile crisis of April 1961. The confrontation between the United States, the Soviet Union, and Cuba at the height of the Cold War came within the first four months of JFK’s presidency.
Obama’s running mate made the comments at a fundraising event in Seattle two days ago, on the same day Powell also spoke of a coming crisis.
We shouldn’t be surprised at Powell’s comments however, given that the former Secretary of State seemingly has a knack for predicting events before they take place.
Previous to the beginning of the Iraq war in February 2003, an audio tape containing a voice described as that of Osama Bin Laden was touted as proof positive of Al Qaeda links with Saddam Hussein.
Hours before the tape was discovered and aired by TV channel Al Jazeera, Powell announced in the US Senate that a “Bin Laden tape is coming proving Iraq’s links with Al-Qaeda.”
This led some to raise the question how does Colin Powell know what Al Jazeera are going to broadcast before they do?
In an amazing and timely coincidence, the tape came barely a week after Powell’s attempts to link Al Qaeda and Saddam in his botched presentation of lies and exaggerations before the UN Security Council.

I am an Amercan working man. I expect Obama to represent me and my interests. If these include the breakup of the United States then so be it. American workers have got to get the heel of Wall Street off of our necks. And, the US military does NOT represent the best interests, or the Constitution, of the American people.

Why is this news? Knowing what I know now, nothing seems to surprise or shock me anymore. Even egotistical government types trying to one-up each other by “predicting” what is going to happen. The reporter mentions January 21st before Powell does…I think he’s just using the date as a frame of reference in the context of the question asked. And of course we don’t know about it (the crisis) it’s doesn’t exist yet.

I read a comment on another website…it went something like this. “My uncle, who is high up in the military called me and told me to get out of LA. Because in September 08, there would be a Financial crisis and By February 2009 the government as we know it would be gone, bankrupt, and all chaos after that”.
I thought this comment was just some guy making stuff up. but looking at the date his comment was posted in March 08, it made me think twice. As one of his predictions did come true in Sept.
Then there is the Iraq Brigade deployed to Colorado for “crowd control” on Oct 1. and things don’t look to good, Marshall law?
Then to top it off, I hear this from Powell & Biden…it just sums it all up. There is a coming crisis. I suggest we all get prepared!

First of all, all you martial law predictors, that’s just not gonna happen. Not enough soldiers in the world could contain an armed-to-the-teeth American rebellion, let alone our sorry troops. We’d make Iraq look like a nursery school squabble.
Nope, what Powell and others are referring to is Israel’s attack on Iranian nuclear facilities on January 26th, the night of the new moon. This is the last window before Iran tests its nuclear device, rumored to be scheduled for February. The deal has been struck that the Israelis will accept the Saudi peace plan in exchange for nothing more than saber rattling from their Arab neighbors (who ALL want those facilities wiped out). This will take place over a period of weeks while Arabs threaten about making war, only to be followed by a Saudi-Syrian called summit at which time Obama will offer to broker a larger Middle East summit that will result in a comprehensive peace plan that will see a massive world outreach to the Palestinians to build their country. Israelis and Palestinians will dance in the streets together.

I rememebr this. I believe it was about the Iraqi’s dumping US dollars onto the markets. Bush has climed an Axis of evil with countries who were dumping our only peg on the US dollar..trading oil with USA dollars. They were Nixing Nixons deal. we went into Iraq, seized the oil fields and replaced the US dollar in their treasury as a currency to trade for oil(Nixons OPEC agreement). We used to drill 75% of our own oil annd import 25%(roughly) when Nixon came around, he said we will trade with OPEC but all opec nations who produce oil and nations who buy it must use the USA dollar. what was left of the gold standard was removed, oil replaced it and the supposed axis of evil was dumping the deal…..we went in.

Well,
We ALREADY have a banking crisis brewing. A lot of bankruptcies have been “papered
over”, for the next Administration to deal with. The FED loans will come due on a lot of
Commercial paper on May 1, 2009. Somebody will be FORCED to deal with all of this.
So, what I think Mr. Powell is referring to is massive bankruptcies that the NEW
Administration will have to deal with — like FDR in the 1930s. Some people would call that
a “crisis”. It sure isn’t going to be easy to get through this.
And Mr. Bush will go to the golf links, and hit a few rounds as the NEW Administration
deals with all of these problems.

Without a doubt, Barack Obama has proven himself to be an enemy of the law abiding firearm owner. At the same time, Obama has proven himself to be a friend to the hardened criminal. Then there is his buddy Richard Daley, the mayor of Chicago, who has declared that if it were up to him, nobody would be allowed to own a gun. And let’s not forget Obama’s pal George Soros – the guy who has pumped millions of dollars into the UN’s international effort to disarm law-abiding citizens.
Obama has shown that he is more than willing to use other people’s money to fund his campaign to take your guns away from you. While a board member of the leftist Joyce Foundation, Barack Obama wrote checks for tens of millions of dollars to extremist gun control organizations such as the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence and the Violence Policy Center.
Does Barack Obama still sound to you like a “friend” of the law-abiding gun owner? By now, I’m sure that many of you have received mailings from an organization called “American Hunters and Shooters Association(AHSA),” talking about what a swell fellow Obama is and how he honors the 2 Amendment and how you will never have to worry about Obama coming to take your guns. Let me make it perfectly clear – everything the AHSA says about Obama is pure hogwash. The AHSA is headed by a group of left-wing elitists who subscribe to the British view of hunting and shooting. That is, a state of affairs where hunting and shooting are reserved for the wealthy upper-crust who can afford guided hunts on exclusive private reserves. The AHSA is not your friend, and never will be.
In closing, I’d like to remind you that I’m a guy who has actually gone nose to nose with Obama on gun rights issues. The Obama I know cannot even begin to identify with this nation’s outdoor traditions. The Obama I know sees you, the law abiding gun owner, as nothing but a low-class lummox who is easily swayed by the flash of a smile and a ration of rosy rhetoric. The Obama I know is a stony-faced liar who has honed his skills at getting what he wants – so long as people are willing to give it to him. That’s the Barack Obama I know.

First of all the article is wrong in its’ history, JFK was tested with the Cuban Missile Crisis in Oct. 1962 not April 1961. In April of ‘61 was the Bay of Pigs fiasco. And JFK was a very conservative Democrat not a left wing dem like Obama. Get your facts straight.

Let me get this straight…
He knows the exact date that it’s gonna happen, but not WHAT is gonna happen. Either he’s been reading Nostradamus again or its a case of “I can’t say or I’ll get into trouble when it happens.” Or perhaps he’s trying to warn people to be on their guard in the best way that he can and isn’t a complete bastard. Nevertheless I think DeeDee’s scenario is the most plausible.

Not convinced? Here’s what Pike had to say about the first two World Wars:

This was all concocted in 1871 by Albert Pike (notice how he uses the terms Nazism and Zionism, two movements which weren’t even invented yet). If America continues with arming Poland with a missle “defence system”, after Putin has made very clear that he considurs such action to be hostile, you can better belive that there will be a crises. When asked if America could continue policing the world, Colin Powel did not hesitate, and said yes. This is a clear sign that those in the beltway are living in a fantasy. Of course its easy to write checks when you use other peoples money and lives as colateral. I am not a pacifist, but one needs to know ones limitations some Americans are starting to realize this. Hmm, I “wonder” what he could be referring to when he speaks of a global crisis.
People, the economy is not in a “downturn”, or even a “crash”, those things are temporary. They only last a decade or so.
We are experiencing the systemic breakdown of the WAY in when the quackademics have thought about economy since the demise of the American System.
We have entered an insane politically guided dogma of “little government” vs “big government”.
There are QUADRILLIONS of dollars worth of hedge funds outstanding.

What you are seeing right now, ladies and gentleman, is a COMPLETE and UTTER collapse of the CONCEPT of MONEY itself.

What is evident, is that various leaders from other countries are holding back in dealing with the USA in any serious manner until after the elections. With an obvious lame duck administration in place, nobody wants to deal with any of the incompetence coming from that administration.
Of course, the USA has taken a massive beating in the last 8 years. The value of US policies and agendas has diminished on a world wide basis. No longer the “super-power”, there have been many “hen’s waiting to roost” and now the time will quickly approach for the hen’s to come home.

In October of 1986 George Bush purchased nearly 100,000 acres near a U.S. base in Paraquay where the government has exempted all U.S. military personel from war crimes prosecution. It looks to me like our president has made plans to flee the country, so it’s possible that when Bush relinquishes power in January, the race will be on to take him into custody before he can escape. I think we are on the cusp of WWIII. I expect that there will be some event that triggers a conflict between possibly Iran and the U.S.A. Then, China and Russia will defend Iran with the use of nuclear weapons. I expect that China will hold true on its past threat to take out California with nuclear weapons. I expect that Russia will take air command to hit here in the U.S.A, while China and Russia will use their navy to attach here and in the middle east. China will provide ground troops in the middle east, and possibly here as well. The EU will be forced to stand down against the threat of invasion. I don’t see Canada being of much assistance, and Mexico will try to negotiate for the land in California, Texas, and some other southwestern states.
When the U.S. fained it’s trip to the moon it was a message to the Russians that we were superior. China has sent the message to the world that it is now as strong, or stronger, than any others in the world.
After the elections, I would look to see where Bush runs off to. I bet he isn’t going to return to Texas, at least not for long. We aren’t looking at the financial destruction of the U.S.; that is a narrow view. We are looking at the U.S. as being the U.S. in name only. At least, that is what I think the current events appear to be leading us to.

He figures it could be the US defaulting on its debts. He does happen to be speaking about the economic crises at around the same time.
I really dont know though. I would say something is definatley, definately wrong.

He obviously said January 21st or 22nd because Brokaw asked him, “If the president called you into the Oval Office on Jan 21 and asked you…..?”.
No doubt there will be a new crisis ahead, but I doubt Powell was alluding to that date for any specific reason. And you don’t have to be in any kind of inner circle to realize what kind of crises lay before us. The wheels have already been set in motion, a long time ago in fact.

Not because it may happen but because this ilk does things in the darkness of secrecy, so I question the veracity of the “leaked” information. However, we may see a CRISIS when it is finally recognized that Obama is NOT qualified under the Constitution to be President and is removed by the Supremes. Bush has used them before, so what makes you think he won’t again? Ok now I especially don’t like it when conservatives use fear mongering and pull things out of context in order to stir up peoples feelings of insecurity, but I don’t like it when anyone does that. Which is exactly what Alex Jones does on this page. If you listen to the ENTIRE interview (which I did, along with the entire Joe Biden speech talking about how Obama will be tested at the beginning of his presidency) you can see that what Alex is getting at is completely different from what is really being said. January 21st is the first day the new President will actually be in office. Jan. 20th is Bush’s last day in office. Powell says “problems will always be there” and we can’t know today what problems the new president will face then but there will inevitably be problems on Jan 21st (the first day in office) just like there are now. He is most certainly not predicting some massive terrorist attack or nuclear holocaust.
Biden talks about how Obama will be tested his first few months in office. Who wouldn’t be? There is absolutely no person on earth who would be completely ready to be president. No past president was ready to solve every problem on day one either. It is a humanistic learning experience and it is illogical and poor argument to use those words to say that Obama is obviously not prepared to be president because he would be tested during his first few months. The argument comes with how well you handle the “test”. John McCain says that he would be a better president because he will not be tested like Obama would be. False. It is short sighted to not foresee oneself being tested in any regards to life. McCain needs to wake up, realize the test is coming (if he makes it to the White House) and preparations should be made for the test and how to pass it. Not deny its existence. I want a president who realizes the test is there, prepares for it, and handles it as best as possible.
