Congressman Seems Confused About Citizenship Verification System at Town Hall Meeting; Compares to AZ Law

At a Town Hall meeting, Rep. Pete Stark was vague and unclear about E-verify, the existing on-line system managed by the Federal Government allowing businesses to immediately check the immigration status of people applying for a job in America.

Rep. Stark compared E-Verify to the Arizona Immigration Law, saying that it was unfair, and questioned its constitutionality. He said that ‘it might unfairly stop someone from getting a job’.
