I'm also wondering how they got the cop to admit that he pulled them over for a bogus reason. It's happened to me a couple of times, but usually it comes out in the form of the cop asking for a date. But, they have a bogus reason for pulling you over first - something completely fabricated like and expired sticker (when it isn't ) or accusing you of swerving so that they can order you into a dark parking lot at night. I did come out of the car ready for a fight on that one because I seriously thought the possibility existed that I was going to be murdered one way or the other. That guy let me go with an apology. But, the other one became a stalker. I ended up not being able to go to work, had to just leave my apartment and move out of the area. But, getting them to tell you why they REALLY pulled you over isn't going to be easy unless they have an ulterior motive like trying to get a date with you.

@Mad as hell

"Well, Karmakazee, I do not see anything wrong with the story. They pull each person out and ask them the same things, no matter who owns the car."

No, they have very set procedures that they use for a reason - to make sure their legal standing is unassailable. For example asking to or notifying of a search of a vehicle is always done to the DRIVER because THEY are legally responsible for what is in the vehicle. If they found something but hadn't asked the driver, then the driver could say it was an illegal search in court, and he would be right.

That's one reason they follow these procedures. The other is officer safety. When the officer does not KNOW you don't have a weapon, then they NEED to see your hands at all times, so that they don't put their own lives at risk.

Occam's Razor says the simplest explanation is likely the correct explanation, and the idea that cops would break procedures so badly, then notify the passenger that it was an illegal stop, is just insane. They would have NO REASON to ADMIT IT. But it makes for a good story, so the protagonist is at the centre of all the action. In fact the driver, in the story, barely rates a mention, and is always just on the sidelines while everything else happens to the passenger.

Its a SCRIPT, and a bad one. It has all the hallmarks.

"Maybe they asked the driver, but they TOLD the passenger they were going to search."

And maybe they never did either. Maybe the whole story is made up. The evidence suggests that is the case. Why would the passenger say SHE was called over to the car and asked if there was anything illegal? That is the FIRST step in the search process, just like "did you pack your bags yourself". They don't do that just for the hell of it, it is part of the procedure.

Also, why does the story leave all the interactions the driver had out? If the driver was asked, then why not say so? Why would the cop walk over to the PASSENGER and say "Do you know why we stopped you?" (another standard phrase used as part of the procedure in a traffic stop)

Normally they are hoping you will CONFESS without thinking "I forgot to indicate" "I was driving a little too fast" etc
everything you say is written down because they can use it if you contest any ticket they give you, or charges in court.

That's why this story stinks to high heaven. All the phrases everyone has heard if they have ever been pulled over by a cop are there, but they are in the wrong places, or imply the wrong thing. The first thing the cop says to the driver is to ask for id etc, and the second is "do you know why I pulled you over?", not at the end, as an afterthought, to the passenger.

"They WOULD pull you over for a bogus reason and if they are told to harrass Patriots, they want the word to spread so bumper stickers will not be put on at all."

Oh get real. Doing things like this draws far more attention to Ron Paul or Infowars than just ignoring it.... Hey... You don't think... Nah, it couldn't be...

"They do pat people down before searching the vehicle because they don’t want anyone pulling a gun or a shank."

Except in this case they didn't apparently. Well, not until they had been told to go stand by the cop car for no apparent reason... Why was that again? The cops tell them to stand by the cop car, then just stand around for awhile, then call the passenger over to notify her of a search, then they search the driver and passenger... The order of events is all screwed up.

"Lok at all the videos of the police tasing and beating people for no reason."

And not once did the cop say "you know why I tazed you right? Because you support..."

Do you seriously believe a police officer would admit to committing a Federal crime?

I am not saying that they DON'T commit such crimes, but ADMITTING it? No frigging way. I'm not even saying things like this don't happen, because it is clear they do. I am saying THIS didn't happen, unless they have a lot better evidence than this bullshit story.

"I imagine the people were a bit shaken and sometimes you don’tremember every little step that happens when you go through something traumatic."

Like being told you were pulled over for failing to indicate? Yep, I can certainly imagine the passenger might not remember the driver being told that, and well, the people involved already think all cops are jackbooted thugs, so assuming the bumper stickers were the reason makes sense in a way. Especially as stories of this kind of persecution keep turning up, implanting in peoples mind that there is no possible reason a cop might pull them over OTHER than Nazi tactics of the NWO.

Don't get me wrong, I am no cop fan boy - I am simply pointing out that THIS story is totally IMPLAUSIBLE. Read that WeAreChange if you want to see how this sort of thing really happens.

"I know I feel trauma when I’m pulled over. Heck, I get nervous when I even see a cop driving on the road even though I’m not doing anything wrong. It’s a long cry from feeling safe from crime by seeing them out."

That's exactly what I am talking about. You already expect them to be Nazis so if you don't know what you did - and there are a multitude of things you can do - to be pulled over, then what is YOUR first assumption going to be? "The NWO are after me for my Ron Paul stickers!", most likely.

"Now, I got pulled over for passing someone on a 2 lane road way out in the country. I had a Ron Paul sticker on a mini-van"

Boom, right there is reason to pull you over. Crossed the center line. All the cop has to do is say it was a dangerous passing maneuver. No need to admit to Federal crimes.

"The first thing he asks me is if this 2002 MINI-VAN is stolen."

I'm betting what he really said was "Is this your car?". That ensures you can't say the car was not yours and so you didn't know the 20kgs of cocaine was in the back...

"Like if I was going to steal a vehicle I would pick a mini-van."

Happens all the time, especially with drug runners etc. It's easier to hide 20kgs of coke in a minivan than a mini.

"I could have been given a warning, but spend almost $200 for the ticket."

Or maybe because you hate cops, you said something or acted surly and pissed the cop off. Happens all the time.

"I was very cooperative because I know what they are like."

Everyone says that - and everyone knows that being cooperative doesn't mean you aren't being a prick. Just a surly attitude is easily detected, no matter what you actually say. He also might have run your plate and seen a string of similar offenses, and maybe decided this time to teach you a lesson? But I'm sure you've never done anything like that before and been caught, right?

"I was more in Ron Paul territory anyway, but still found it odd the first thing he would ask me was if it as stolen. Maybe the vehicle didn’t look like something I would drive which is now why I have a sports car, LOL."

Or maybe, like I said, it is standard procedure? And maybe the "sports car" is an indication of your driving style and record?

@Mad as hell 2

"Oh, I forgot to add that the stories from ‘We Are Change’ are going to be true. Did you not hear the interview on Alex’s show?"

I never said they weren't. In fact the complete opposite. I used their story to show how this sort of thing is done. Bullshit tickets with bullshit excuses, that eventually get thrown out of court, but not before they've been able to move you along and cost you a bunch of time and money. Admitting that is what they are doing is NOT how they operate.

Compare and contrast the two stories. See how right from word go, the cop in the WeAreChange story is setting up the false excuse. In THIS story, they do basically nothing (they didn't even issue a citation as far as we can tell, so no evidence that this stop happened, conveniently) and then at the end the cops admit they committed a federal crime. Sorry, I don't buy it at all.

Heck, I get nervous when I even see a cop driving on the road even though I’m not doing anything wrong. It’s a long cry from feeling safe from crime by seeing them out.

Now, I got pulled over for passing someone on a 2 lane road way out in the country. I had a Ron Paul sticker on a mini-van. The first thing he asks me is if this 2002 MINI-VAN is stolen. Like if I was going to steal a vehicle I would pick a mini-van. I could have been given a warning, but spend almost $200 for the ticket. I was very cooperative because I know what they are like. I was more in Ron Paul territory anyway, but still found it odd the first thing he would ask me was if it as stolen. Maybe the vehicle didn’t look like something I would drive which is now why I have a sports car, LOL.

@Everyone

The more times I read this story, the more gaping holes I find. For example:

"one of the officers got out on the drivers side of the police car and walked over to my friends window (the drivers side)"

So the author of the email wasn't driving the vehicle.

"Then one of the officers called me back to the side of the car, said he wanted to talk to me. He asked me if there was anything illegal in this car, I said no. He said you had better being telling the truth because we are going to search this car."

Why would the cop call the PASSENGER over to request permission to search (or inform a search was going to be carried out)? The person informed of such things is the person in control of the vehicle, i.e. the driver.

Maybe they "knew" the passenger was the registered owner? But the author of the email claims earlier:

"He did not ask for the registration to the car or for proof of insurance."

So nope that can't be it. So what could be the reason? Well obviously, the reason is that the author would not be able to tell us what was said and be believed unless she was the one it was said to. Convenient, huh?

I missed this before, but after this conversation:

"Well, Alex they (the police) started searching my friend and myself."

So they apparently were searched but only after they had been told to stand by the police car with their hands behind their back. Better late than never I suppose.

Finally, after all this, and without a whimper of resistance:

"As we are walking to the car one officer comes walking towards me and says "You know why we had to do this right"?"

So the cop came over and offered the "explanation" unbidden? Yeah right.

In that article, there is a link to a post on another site talking about a WeAreChange volunteer being arrested while handing out free DVD's. Here is a small excerpt:

"He then proceeded to write me out a ticket as several more officers pulled up, probably about a dozen or so in total. We asked them about peddling and they kept telling me to “be quiet” “let it go” and “we’re not talking to you. They all avoided directly answering my questions about the nature of “peddling”. Eventually some of them told us that the mall was private property of the Denver Business Partnership, and not public property."

Notice the BULLSHIT excuse. THAT is how cops work. No way in hell are they going to admit they pulled you over for a bogus reason. That is massive lawsuit, job termination, and possibly criminal charges (civil rights violations), territory. No way in hell.

@Everyone

Jesus a lot of you people are gullible.

The old "I wasn't doing nothing" line is a load of cobblers. If a cop follows you long enough you WILL do something they can pull you over for. Slightly too fast going downhill? Wandered into the other lane an inch or so while avoiding a pothole? Not following at the required distance? I mean the list of things they can pull you over for is huge, and every single one of them would have been a far better excuse than bumper stickers.

What if the person had a tape recorder on them? Or turned up with a lawyer demanding the dash cam footage? This is just TOO much bullshit to be believed in the form presented. And what do you know, it ALSO advertises infowars!!! Surprise!!!

Viral marketing at its best people. That's what this is.

@Dee

"I guess you haven’t had the opportunity to be stopped enough to figure out that hands behind your back (while up against your car, hood, or wall, is quite customary.(Raised and locked fingers behind your head or neck…sometimes on knees.

It is possible that the story is made up but equally so that it is true. The position of the hands is certainly not the flaw if there is one in this story."

Well, if that is true, it is no wonder so many cops get killed! Sorry if I don't believe you.

MAYBE if you have been searched they may tell you to put your hands behind your back, but this article does not say THEY were searched, only the car. No way in HELL would a cop in a country that allows handguns to be sold to just about anyone tell someone to hide their hands while they turn their back on them!

Hell, they get antsy when you put your hand in your pocket to get your ID! As soon as the person's hands are no longer visible, a very dangerous situation has arisen. Knives, guns etc are not the only reason. What if you have drugs hidden on you, and use the hands behind your back pose to dispose of them. How could the cop say they saw you drop it, assuming they even found them?

Seriously!

The other poses you talk about are done exactly to counteract this! Hands behind head means you have to make a large movement to threaten the officer or hide contraband. On the knees, once again, they are visible. Totally different from telling you to hide your hands!

1. You shouldn't have let the cop search the car. It sounds like the cop gave you no choice and also did not state what what his probable cause was before doing so. It's true you didn't ask (which you should have) but they still need to be sued for both of those transgressions.

Now, when you refuse to have your car searched, they will call a K-9 cop to see if the dog smells drugs in your car. Often, the cop will keep a bag of weed in his pocket which he will touch and then touch your car which will cause the dog to detect drugs, then giving them the PC to search. But, a K-9 may not be available so they will have to let you go. Also, when you get out of the car, you need to lock your keys in the car behind you and have a spare hidden somewhere. The cops then can't get in and you can use the spare to get back in your car and leave after they leave.

Everyone needs to read Boston T. Party's book "You and the Police" immediately! Especially if you're going to be attracting attention to yourself and mixing it up with cops on a constant basis. or even if you're not. Essential!

2. Why in the hell didn't you let him explain why those bumper stickers justified such harassment? He was letting you go anyway, you should have gotten the explanation. This is stuff that everyone needs to know about how "law enforcement" sees us and will come at us in the future.

Thanks for reporting this incident to us though and I'm glad you guys made it out without getting brutalized or killed by those scum. This is very serious and lets us know that the stakes have now gotten much higher. We're heading into very serious times.

If this is even true the people were by their own admission way too submissive, cooperative and ameable. You do not have to answer anything, just sign the citation if they write one and be on your way. do not consent to searches and do not feel beholden to answer some pig's questions. It is a real shame that infowars readers/ Paul supporter such as portrayed in this story would not know their rights.
