You can be sure the cunts didn't try to calm him down with reassuring words, never ones to miss a chance to play with their diabolical torture tazers, they would have tacitly encouraged the poor kid to lose his head with their bullying insistance on his 'compliance'. It's just that in this case these ersatz 'cops' are in fact violent thugs who see the police force as a perfect ticket to become a violent career criminal masquerading as a law enforcer with guaranteed impunity and to never have to face justice, it's utterly insane and has to stop. When are people going to do something about it? Those cops should be commended for saving the lives of these two understandably distraught young men. I live within ten miles of where this happened and have walked on the Mendocino headlands countless times. This is a harsh and unforgiving coast. The rocks are sharp and jagged and will tear you up if you're not careful. The water is ice cold and survival time if you go in is less than five minutes. Surfers here wear full suits all season long. The man was floating face down, probably dead from shock. Despite constant warnings to never turn your backs on the ocean, we have had many people swept away over the years. Our Search and Rescue teams are trained and equipped to do shore to sea rescues, but in angry seas a shore to sea rescue attempt is too dangerous and the Coast Guard is called in. Finding a body that has been swept away by the fierce currents off our coast is not a job for two ERT's on a jet ski. These guys were wrestling with the police too close to the edge of the cliff for comfort. I can understand why the cops acted as they did. Like everyone else there, they were helpless to do anything for a man who after the first brief minutes was surely dead from shock and exposure. They prevented a greater tragedy.
