Cops to IndyMac customers: Remain calm or face arrest

Police ordered angry customers lined up outside an IndyMac Bank branch to remain calm or face arrest Tuesday as they tried to pull their money on the second day of the failed institution’s federal takeover.

At least three police squad cars showed up early Tuesday as tensions rose outside the San Fernando Valley branch of Pasadena-based IndyMac.

Federal regulators seized Pasadena-based IndyMac on Friday and reopened the bank Monday under the control of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Deposits to $100,000 are fully insured by the FDIC.

Worried customers with deposits in excess of insured limits flooded IndyMac Bank branches on Monday, demanding to withdraw as much money as they could or get answers about the fate of their funds.

When it was clear some wouldn’t get in before closing, FDIC employees apparently took down names and told them to return Tuesday.

Other customers began lining up at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, and by dawn, tensions escalated because people on the list were getting priority.

By 8 a.m., about 50 people on the list waited in one line and many more waited in another.

Five people were allowed in at a time.

Customers became infuriated, and police told them they could be arrested if they didn’t remain calm.

Police stood by at some other branches around Southern California but there were no other reports of problems.

There’s going to be a massive influx of new job seekers in the Pan-handling industry. Damn. I just got the job.

this is madness…. ive been telling all my freinds for years, they are crazy for making themselves slaves to the dollar.. now look, pretty soon people wont be able to get the money they earned… not like this hasn;t happened before.. pay attention people…

” now the water is starting to boil, no one flinches, we all float face down”incubus… i love that quote

  4. Fools and money are soon part Says:

I don’t understand these people. Everyone knows FDIC insurance only covers up to $100,000.00. Why don’t people with more than this amount have multiple accounts? The first rule of business is CYA - cover your ass. If you aren’t protecting your money - you are a fool.

  5. Jay Says:

I suggest one massive, well organized, black masked, fully automatic, customer oriented, armed robbery.

It’s bad enough they’re gonna lose a ton of their cash, they shouldn’t be expected to wait around calm & orderly to get the fraction of what belongs to them.

These people just had their money stolen right outta their accounts…. There’s nothing calm or orderly abount that.
They should arm themselves & take their shit back in a crude & disorderly fasion!

  6. Dean C Says:

I would like to call this Fascism or perhaps Communism, but in these systems of tyranny the government officials control business and take away the personal freedom of the individual.

Since in America it is the New World Order elite, the bankers and industrialists who control the politicians, what shall we call this mess? Perhaps it should be called “Reverse-Fascism”? This generation will witness the fall of the United States, at the hands of the Corporation, corrupt politician and the ignorance of the people to believe the propaganda of a news media system which is extremely controlled and spews out misinformation which the people are buying hook, line and sinker.

Now that they are being hit in the pocketbook, maybe they will wake up? We are going the way of Rome, unless we wake up fast.

Hank…and who will be judge and jury? How will you know who is on what side? Or will you kill indiscriminately based on what a person drives? Wears? Lives?

Now that sounds like NWO with Alex Jones on top…

  8. Wayne Says:

Does anyone realize that by just exposing and talking about corruption, NWO etc. we are playing their hand. Action is key. Massive civil disorder is needed. Organized groups of ex-miltary is needed. Armed inssurection maybe be the only way but only a last resort, we haven’t even taken it to the streets. You want change, here you go. quit your job get on welfare, organize! unite! Change! If you aren’t paying taxes and u r getting tax dollars well you do the math. They can’t survive without our money and our services. So get the fuck up and do something!

  9. Finch Says:

Hank: “we may be fat dumb and overfluoridated but we are a nation of mean ass barbarians aching for a good fight.”

That made me laugh. Thanks. :)

  10. nikoli Says:

has anyone seen a fishing net… when you catch the fish, you scope it out of the water with your net….

well scope up these police officers…. have your nets ready…
when a police officer try’s to arrest you… place a fishing net over his head and body… make an arrest on him, for abuse of power… catch him in your net…

take a shield to protect your self… dress as the police dress… take what they take….. shilds, pepper spray, helmets, batons…
they are protecting themselves and you are protecting yourself…
it is not against the law to protect yourself against violent police officers…

  11. FK Says:

Yeah Wayne…..let us know when you are on welfare…

  12. FK Says:

    @nikoli

    What violence?

  13. 4Yahshua Says:

Right now, I think a mattress sounds pretty good to some of these angry folks.

  14. Gaston Says:

I suggest the old tradition of tarring and feathering. I would enjoy watching Faux News or Corporate Crooks Network (CNN) and see the complicit Wall street crooks, bank managers and other corporate swindlers being tarred, feathered, and ridden on a rail as punishment for stealing the pensions and lifesaving of earnest working people.

  15. Ron Kent (aka Coffeelover) Says:

“To Serve and Protect” our MASTERS that is…….
Someday soon Law Enforcement will have to decide…. decide when their Commander or Police Chief is obstructing justice, and/or providing intimidation for Corrupt Corporations, and Government Incumbents……

I want to see it someday where as several Police Captains and Police Saergants walk into the Mayors, Chief of Police, Bankers, offices and say “You are under arrest”……..

  16. ThePatriot Says:

Think twice before putting you money in banks. If you must then diversify.

  17. Fatty_fat_fat Says:

First point - it’s clear the cops don’t bank with Indymac

Second point - it’s clear the cops don’t give a firetruck that the bank is with holding peoples money.

Third point - US banks, shares (incl 401k), currency and property have clearly all been over valued by some order of magnitude.

Follow this line of thinking - All fiat reverts to their true value which is zero. Shares are priced in fiat, US banks are full of fiat, property is priced in fiat, 401k is fiat.

If you want an option that escapes fiat google “The alpha strategy” and download the PDF.

Good luck all - We are most certainly in for a world of turmoil.
