Cost Of Bailout Hits $8.5 Trillion

The total cost of funds committed to the bailout in its various guises has now hit $8.5 trillion dollars, up from $7.7 trillion in just two days after the federal government committed an additional $800 billion to two new loan programs on Tuesday.
The total amount of funds now committed equals a figure that represents 60 per cent of the U.S. gross domestic product.
Millions of Americans with savings accounts and pensions will ultimately pay the price because, as the San Francisco Chronicle admits today, “The Fed lends money from its own balance sheet or by essentially creating new money.”
You’ll also find this little snippet in the article, “Most of the money, about $5.5 trillion, comes from the Federal Reserve, which as an independent entity does not need congressional approval to lend money to banks or, in “unusual and exigent circumstances,” to other financial institutions.

Just another reminder that the private, run for profit, Federal Reserve has the printing presses cranked on overdrive in order to bailout Wall Street and the big banks, while the homeowner and the middle class see their savings devalued out of existence.
“If you print money all the time, the money becomes worth less,” warns Diane Lim Rogers, chief economist with the Concord Coalition, but its an empty threat to delirious traders and investors drunk on a record stock market rally after the government pumped more fake liquidity into the bloated bubble.
Veteran investor Jim Rogers echoed the sentiment, predicting the dollar is “going to lose its status as the world’s reserve currency,” adding, “It will be devalued and it will go down a lot. These guys in Washington, they want to debase the currency.”
“They think that if you drive down the value of your money, it makes you more competitive, now that has never worked in history in the long term,” said Rogers.
How long will it be before Americans realize the looming specter of hyperinflation spells disaster for their life savings? How long will it be before we see rioting in the streets on a par with the scenes witnessed in Iceland over the weekend, where the Icelandic krona has lost half its value in a matter of weeks?
Meanwhile, over in the UK, the government assured the vast majority of the population that they will “tax the rich” in order to pay for the bailout on the other side of the Atlantic, with whopping 61 per cent tax bands being levied on those earning over £100,000 a year.
Since when was £100,000 a year “rich”? After tax, even if someone was able to save half of their remaining income, it would take them around 30 years to save a million pounds, adjusting for inflation. That is not rich.
The reality of course is that it is the middle class who will once again foot the bill for everything, leaving the elite to prolong their con game of fiat money and imaginary credit , once again suckering the poor in for a lifetime of indentured financial servitude.

OK we REALLY need to stop using the term “PRINTING MONEY” they don’t even need to do that anymore, it’s just a number typed into a computer somewhere, which in effect is even more ridiculous, i wonder how much currency is actually in circulation, ATM, Credit and other mechanism have been long replacing this physical money with nothing more than 1’s and 0’s of digital information even making the currency less viable as anything to measure wealth, a cashless fully tracked society is iminent, that is what this crisis is all about, they will take everything away from us and then offer it back with their cashless system if you submit to being chipped.
It’s sad to say but most of the population will willingly accept this form of control after they cause a condition of despair so great it will make the recent crisis in somalia, africa look like a utopia, once the major city’s are hit and they cut off food supply, you’ll see mass anarchy and civil unrest insue, then alot of people will die of starvation. I totally agree that the bail out is a criminal act on the American taxpayer…… I understand the numbers are HUGE……it would be nice however when there is a Headline that reads “Bail Out hits $8.5 Trillion” that there is some detail in the article with real numbers and real sources…. I believe the number, but when trying to convince family members, friends, co-workers etc…… they will not believe a headline…….. I told this to a very well to do “finance” guy.. He said I was nuts and who ever printed this is nuts also… So help the troops out… we need to educate the masses, who have no clue what is being done to them.. Thanks…

The 8.5 Trillion number includes the backing of junk assets so the physical amount of “money” is around 2.5 trillion where the other 6 trillion is in securing failure of assets which is inevitable, they are basically insuring 6 trillion in junk bonds, mortgage backed securities, interest on various securities, so basically assuming liability over money with no benefit, the reason why they are securing these is because they WILL FAIL, so it’s just saying that the taxpayer is curently on the hook for up to 8.5 trillion.

This does shed some light on the 8.5 Trillion….however I would still like to see a detailed breakdown…… 150 billion to AIG, 100 billion to Goldman Sacs. etc…. the number is so huge that people will just ignor it as total nonsense…… I want to educate my friends…..but I first have to be armed with verifiable data and numbers, or I come off looking like a crack pot :} And if 6 Trillion is just a backing of junk bonds by insurance then it is technically not 6 Trillion that taxpayers will have to come up with at least yet…….. How many trillion have we lost in the stock market avalanche these last few weeks? Is the destruction of wealth in the investment portfolios and retirement accounts of Americans offset by the creation of wealth for the financial institutions and banking industry? If so, will such an offset only delay rampant inflation that might have otherwise been incurred? At what point will we see inflation replace the coming deflationary cycle? Two years? Three years?
The Fed is unstoppable and will not desist until the currency collapses. This IS by design, planned for years by those who seek to control all currencies, and it is coming in this generation.

true we will never know where the money is going, but i find it absurd that the original 700B tarp was to buy up junk assets which never happened, instead they pounded 350billion into freing up the credit market which banks are instead using to hoard. The little banks are hoarding in fear that larger banks will sweat them and takeover and larger banks are using the capital to wipe out non fed banks, the little guys were smart not to go on a lending spree as they would’ve surely been squeezed out without having that capital. so now they want another 600B to free up the credit market, WOW DIDN’T WE ALREDY f---IN TRY THAT.
Basically this is all a way to consolidate wealth and buy out assets at pennies to the dollar, same thing as the great depression but on a much larger scale. The fact is that banks will not loan this money out even if given to them as there is no legal way for the government to stop them from doing whatever they want with the money. Same as if i go into a bank and ask for a loan for a car. If they issue the loan and i decide to spend it on something else, there is absolutely nothing they can do to stop me. The only way would be if they had issued a certified check to the institution i was buying the car from in the exact amount of the car. Long story short, were getting screwed BIG TIME!!!

the minted coins are apparently offered by a company but are merely “collectors coins”, strangely enough the artisan that produces these collectors edition amero also mints for the US mint (Denver branch), it would be a stretch to report that these coins will be the actual currency but you never know, they coulda been produced in case somebody intercepted another coin, this would just be a good cover up. We’ll have to wait for this one to play out i guess.

I agree with you completely CRS as i suspect those coins are on that site and offered because they leaked a shipment of them, However i believe we are going away from a physical money system altogether, i think it’s all a houdini, they are distracting us with the AMERO and NAU when i think the big thing coming is global, digitally tracked money on a RFID chip or through an ID card of some sort, the technology is there, why would they waste their time with printing presses, we’ve already seen that most “currency” is digital, The US has a GDP of roughly 11-12 Trillion but there is no way there is 11 Trillion dollars in circulation as paper or coin currency, we are already in a partial digitized currency system.

Disclaimer: this theory is pure speculation….The nose-dive in commodity prices is a result of the elite wealth-holders pulling their money out of any investments that are valued in US Dollars and traded in US markets. WM, Gasoline is at 1.80 a gallon to sweat out the alternatives to oil drilling, here in canada we have the second largest oil reserve in the world, they are extrating it out of the “TarSands” in western canada, no drilling, it’s all right there on the surface, this process is called Bichmun extraction and is more costly, it is actually only profitable at around 65$ a barrel. If this price keeps up it will collapse all alternatives to drilling, that means opec can then cause a shortage and hyper inflate the cost of oil as they will be the only active source of oil. This is the same reason why they contracted oil production about 1.5 months ago

We are poor and my dad is not a rich banker and when he did have thriving business he treated his employees superbly well paying them full travel expenses, accomadation, giving them very good wages for the time they worked for him in his factory and paying them full wages when off sick or on holiday. His workers loved working for him and my dad is a generous, compassionate man and also believed a happy workforce was a productive one

Religious dogma and other fables will have little influence going forward in our new and changing world. Currently, the global economy does not have enough entropy, energy or capital, to repeat our good old Christian society. The rebound will be deficient in resources for the world economy to sustain heavy populations in an oil based middle class society. Unfortunantly, this will require scientific solutions that will go against the grain of Christianity. The need to think instead of believe, act out realistic solutions instead of prayer and employ evolutionary based sciences instead of creationism absolutes will have to prevail.
Global warming and carbon conservation will become paramount issues to survival.
Simply the fact the US needs to add 40,000 plus jobs per month to keep up with population growth in the US is unsustainable.
Selfish Christian thinking driven by greedyand evil material needs has destroyed the world economy, let alone our atmosphere. The Republicans did a great job feeding the world a s--- sandwich of a fiat dollar backed by war, debt and Christianity. Maybe Conservatives are unknowingly to themselves “Satan’s Children”.
I wonder if Bush was speaking in tongue to the Chinese and Russians at the Olympics when they were questioning his backing of breakaway Georgia and the unwinding of the US economy…….. maybe it was American Pig Latin?
Solutions can be achieved by post carbon counts on consumer goods and taxing oil to the point of nationalization, but be prepared for acts of terrorism and a holly war with material greedy Christians in our country.
I really wonder if Obama is ready to fight the coming war of the Christian haves against the secular have nots of the new world economy. A war from within and with no borders.
Remember fundamentalist consider democrates and the rest of the billions of non Christians in the world as evil enemies.
Bush has pulled off an 8.5 trillion dollar economic social bail out for the wealthy in the US…… looking for the cash to trickle down…..kinda like the Saudi Princes and their peddling of influence to their power base. Way to go Bushy…..chalk one up for the children of God.

An observation – if you check out shadowstats.com, you will see M3 money supply calculated, which has been deliberately hidden by the Fed since March 2006. As it turns out, it was on a parabolic trend upward until early this year, and since then it has dropped over $7 trillion dollars. Coincidentally, that is around the current cost of the bailout. Coincidence? I don’t think so!

This show is being driven to bring on a new international reserve currency which will have parity with the Amero and the Euro.
To pull it off, hyperinflation will be avoided by driving the US economy deeper into recession through continuation of tight lending while making available to ones’ Tribal friends the aforementioned Trillions – gratis.
Contrary to expectations, prices across the board – labour too – will be down, and not set to take off into the stratosphere, and the $10Trillion (by then), will be used by the Tribe to snap up the rest of America, already owning much of it, at cents on the dollar.
With finance and govt long since in their hands, this final prize of completing the ownership of the physical economy will make for the trifecta, allowing governance by diktat more perfect.
They will only then decree the NAU to be in effect, with the Amero replacing the US Dollar at whatever the US Dollar is now to the Euro. The Globo, or the Global Dollar, will, as i said, be on a par with the Amero and the Euro. The reason ? Both the Amero and the Euro will be more easily phased out for the Globo if parity is instituted and maintained for when full globalisation/internationalisation is launched.

In case you haven’t noticed the ice caps have grown thicker, it’s snowed earlier or snowed for the first time in ages all around the world, sunspot activity is way down, and the shysters that call us “useless eaters” can’t even _sustain_ the use of their phony term “global warming,” so they’ve had to resort to the absurd “climate change” to try and scare us.

The reason for the drop in gasoline prices is so the citizens of America will actually think they can afford to drive a Hummer, Cadillac Escalade, Ford Excursion or Dodge Ram truck again and the Big 3 automakers can sell the vehicles that nobody’s buying right now. Instead of having to crush them into scrap metal and start over. America is addicted to anything that runs on gasoline — cars, jet skis, boats, snowmobiles, lawnmowers, weedeaters, generators, motorcycles, four wheelers, golf carts, you name it there is one out there that runs on gasoline even a frickin blender to make margaritas. And what about the cruise ships I read where the largest one from Royal Carribean uses 1 gallon of diesel per foot , thats 5280 gallons per mile. Why the hell do we need something like that driving around wasting fuel? America and the World needs to change their habits on fuel consumption before it destoys society as we know it.

The bailout is giving Bush enough time to cover his A$$ets along with his friends too. Also, this is breaking the back of the middle east, china, russia, and east asia, too name a few.
This could be a classic case of problem + reaction = solution.
Last I checked it was legal to own an SUV. SUV usage is a drop in the bucket. You control freaks that love ranting about peoples SUV, get a job. I know it is popular and trendy, but this is a free market society. If gas was $20 a gallon and they could afford it then let them buy it. Your hatred is illogical. What if they all got 50 MPG. It might get 12 more months of gasoline in the grand total? Who can figure that out?
