Data protection officials in the Czech Republic have told Google to put the brakes on its StreetView cars, ahead of a full statement next week.
The Czech privacy watchdog began investigating Google for slurping up citizens’ unsecured Wi-Fi data back in May – the same time that German prosecutors confirmed they were investigating a complaint.
The Czech Office for Personal Data Protection told AP that Google had not been given the necessary licence to collect the data.
