Mike Hashimoto writes the following: “I posted on this blog yesterday some commentary by talk-show host Mark Davis regarding the Democratic National Convention. A portion of that commentary has come under fire as being inaccurate. Accordingly, we have taken that post down.”
Of course, this is less than worthless. Simply moving Davis’ comments to the memory hole is not going to wash. Obviously, the Dallas Morning News is coming under intense pressure, thanks to the supporters of Alex Jones.

this is welcome news as i was on the site last night and was unable to make a comment. although they have resigned the story to the archives, its the fact that alot of people complained on behalf of Alex shows that people have woken up to the methods that neo-con propaghandists have employed for years. Well done to all involved and keep the pressure on to help alex to get a formal apology from the Dallas Morning News!

You are a typical truther/Alex Jones sheep. You type “libel” into Google (which you probably think is evil anyway, because Uncle Alex says so), click on the first link and then cut and paste a definition–as if the American body of law is that simple.
Yes, clearly you are no legal scholar.
Mark Davis was not accusing Woman Harasser and 9/11 Profiteer Alex Jones of a “crime or immoral act.” Shouting “Kill is not a crime. Davis was merely stating that Jones shouted the offending statement, believing it to be true.
No libel. No slander. YOU (and your buddy WakeUp) need to visit a law library (obviously you don’t get to one much), study—and understand—the elements of all degrees of libel and slander. LOL at the non legal scholars (including WakeUP) who condense the complex body of American jurisprudence into a Google search and a cut-and-paste of definitions and case law.

Obviously you have some latent anger issues and apparently do not budge much from the keyboard yourself, as you responded very rapidly to my post. By the way, I started my post by saying I was not one of the people you were referring to (good job reading that one). I was merely stating that you threw in your opinion of law and the interpretation of such by saying that there had to be willfulness on the behalf of the writer to knowingly spread or print something with the fore knowledge that the statement was a lie. I was merely correcting your statement to actually reflect the basic tort laws in America. To wit ‘… While it is sometimes said that the person making the libelous statement must have been intentional and malicious, actually it need only be obvious that the statement would do harm and is untrue….’ .
It is ironic that you took my comment out of context, as I did mention that I was no legal scholar. I will apologize to you for not actually stating that I was merely correcting the basic Tort side of your statement for accuracy.

I did not, however, use ‘Google’ or the internet for my definition of ‘libel’. I used ‘The People’s Law Dictionary’ by Gerald and Kathleen Hill (New York, NY : MJF Books, 2002), as the internet can say whatever it wants.
As a last thought, I thank you for the response and will leave you with the parting thought of your own response … ‘LOL at the non legal scholars (including WakeUP) who condense the complex body of American jurisprudence into a Google search and a cut-and-paste of definitions and case law.’
And I follow it up with a quote you made ‘ study—and understand—the elements of all degrees of libel and slander.’. Yes, there are many degrees and levels of law, and to say that he has ‘No Case’ and to back it up with your understanding of jurisprudence simply says that you lost track of all the degrees and levels of the broad terms of libel and slander.
Again, sorry for the misunderstanding and the poor communication skills upon my behalf, and it was a pleasure to listen to your views. Next time I will attempt to be more knowledgeable in the areas I am making a comment in, as you are clearly a ’scholarly’ person in the realm of Law.

Sorry Neo, in my attempt to get to dinner with my family, I failed to comment upon what I see is the communication problem from my end …
The article, if I read it properly (and here goes the dreaded copy and paste that you do not like, so I apologize upfront),
‘But here’s a story that is true. Conservative writer and blogger Michelle Malkin was apparently attacked by violent idiots yesterday, egged on by one of the most repugnant human beings attending this convention– and the competition for that title is crowded.
I refer to the cretinous Alex Jones, who hosts what passes for a radio talk show on a few stations unwise enough to carry it. His blend of 9/11 conspiracy bunk and other baseless scaremongering makes him a complete idiot, a designation which gives him plenty of innocent company. But in shouting “Kill Michelle Malkin!” at a protest yesterday, he reveals himself to be not just a dismissible loon, but a despicable soul whom I would identify as a blight on my industry if I actually considered him to be a part of it.’

The word ‘cretin’ is the start of the passage that could result in a slander suit as it talks of his (Alex Jones) show and the stations that broadcast said show. The next sentence is not relevant as it appears to be an opinion afforded under the First Amendment. The last sentence includes the statement of ‘…would identify as a blight on my industry if I actually considered him to be a part of it.’ which sounds like an opinion, but can be actually formulated (and has successfully in many courts) as to being a ‘fact’ due to the terminology and sentence structure used (specifically the part of saying he (Alex Jones) is a blight that the writer is identifying which makes it a statement of ‘fact’ and no longer an opinion). Not to mention that the writer states ‘But here’s a story that is true.’ in the opening of my quote of the writer.
But, again, I am not the scholar that you are in this matter, and I apologize for for my weak and dismal knowledge of the area you excel in.

You know, for these idiots out there who can’t seem to face the truth about three buildings being IMPLODED right in front of their eyes, they sure have a lot to say about Alex Jones. I am from NY and I was there, live, to see this shit happen. The buildings, all 3 of them imploded, sorry to tell you this but they did. That means that someone pulled the trigger. Buildings DO NOT implode on their own.
Was this article slander and libel against Alex, yes, it was. It’s very simple really, they knew he did not say “kill Michelle Malkin” and they went to print it anyway. If they knew they were in the clear they would not have backed off. I’m sure they have enough money to go ahead with a lawsuit if they knew they had a case. So the truth is on Alex’s side, once again they failed to bring him down. GOOD work Alex.

Amazing how fast the kooks like Neo come out of the woodwork, isn’t it? These people who have time to post rambling ‘legal’ analysis and quick ad-hominem retorts must be quite successful in real life I’m sure. Therefore we should trust him and his flawless logic without question. After all, you can’t get any REAL facts by searching the internet, as he says, and you should only get your facts from places like NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, or internet legal authorities like himself. Those sources NEVER EVER have put out propaganda or twisted the story to fit a hidden agenda. NEVER!
Well, anyways, he sure has my number, that evil Alex Jones has “brainwashed” me, that’s my sole reason for not buying the gov’ts box-cutter conspiracy theory. Gregory Fegel, you must not listen to the show very often, or at all. Alex has named names like the Rothschilds, Bushes, Rockefellers. He’s called out many many congressmen, senators, and other gov’t officials for being crooks, liars, and frauds.
The way you’ve started with an incorrect assumption and jumped to the conclusion that Alex is wilfully reporting ‘fraudulent’ (get a dictionary, idiot) information is absolutely brilliant. It’s no wonder the gov’t never lies with geniuses like you around to keep them honest! Bravo!

“This is not good enough. You don’t post innacurate entries claiming someone threatened to kill someone else and then just say that you have removed it because “A portion of that commentary has come under fire as being inaccurate”. This is a really serioud claim and you should write a formal appology to Alex Jones. The innacuracy could have been anything from that post. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Of course you must be very embarrased, but this does not mean you should leave it at that. What if I wrote in my blog that you liked torturing puppies, only to remove the article a day later without stating why! People still think Alex Jones did this. I expect you to do the right thing and not only appologies to Alex Jones personally, but write an article about what was done wrong and why!
If you do not do this I can no longer take the dallas news seriously. Well actually that is too late anyway.

The only reason Alex Jones isn’t sued by the hour is because, despite his “extensive” 9/11 research, he HAS NEVER and WILL NEVER attach an actual name to an accusation of actually committing the 9/11 attacks. It’s because what he says about 9/11 is so fraudulent that attaching a name to his accusations–and remember, by his own accord, he has studied 9/11 extensively (you’d have to to make the allegations he does, right?)–would make him so utterly civilly and criminally liable.
Thus, although Alex has “researched” 9/11 “extensively”, the only perpetrator that will ever result is a “rogue element of the government.” Can you bring charges against “a rogue element?” Stay tuned to the Alex Jones show folks.

(If you don’t think Genesis Communications is paying this guy a lot of money, and that it’s significantly more than Alex made prior to 9/11, then you need to set the Kool-Aid down)

However, the fact remains that I, not a journalist, spent five minutes researching this. Sent you the videos that proved Alex Jones did not call for the killing or murder of Michele Malkin, only to have you simply take the post down? Think for a moment Mike…if you were accused of calling for the murder of someone and your name was smeared across the internet, television, etc, I would think you would want an apology in the very least when the truth came out that you didn’t do such a thing.
Is it that difficult to apologize Mike?

Bert, Alex Jones GIVES AWAY every film he makes. I’ve been able to see all of them on the internet for free. Alex encourages people to make copies and hand them out for free.

Dave, Alex also encourages people to buy his DVDs. They’re for sale, trust me on this one.
As far as “giving” them away. Of course he does that. He probably knows a bit about marketing. It’s called free advertising. The more exposure his videos get, the more notoriety he gets. That’s an intrinsic benefit. The big companies PAY millions of dollars for ads on T.V. Alex pays nothing for his advertising…handing out his DVDs. So don’t think he’s doing it exclusively for philanthropic reasons.
He tells you to BUY his HIGHER QUALITY DVDs. Trust me, if you give him your money, he will accept it.
