I don't recommend them though. They have expiration dates and technical analysis of markets is mostly bullshit. If not completely bullshit. I used to be a broker, actually I managed a small brokerage firm. Then I became a financial planner. I never did options though. I was going to get my license for it, but then I looked around at all the sharks I worked with and decided that it would be the quickest way for me to lose my license in signing those crooks tickets. Calls and puts are really only good for the broker. They've got all their little sales pitches, but unless you are controlling the market, you won't know when you should use either one. I also wouldn't recommend buying things like gold or silver certificates. I actually don't recommend either in any form, but if you are going to buy them, buy them straight out in ingot form. Since we have a depression coming up, food and shelter are the main things. As well as making yourself self-sufficient. If you have that pretty well sewn up, then investing in yourself is always a much better investment than the stock market. Enron was not an aberration. It was the norm. You will have, if you have a decent idea and sense of how to carry it out along with the determination, a much greater return on investment from yourself than you would from Wall STreet. Even the balanced portfolios for aggressive holders only sought a 14 percent return for a ten year period. Greater returns are possible, but they generally rely on fool's luck, which is usually bad.
