Declassified Documents Reveal Saddam Wanted Alliance With U.S.
New revelations further debunk manufactured pretext for war

Another piece of evidence to add to the patently obvious fact that the United States had resolved to bomb Iraq shortly after 9/11 and that the WMD charade was a staged sideshow is the fact that, according to newly released interrogation documents, Saddam Hussein actually wanted an alliance with the U.S. because he was more afraid of Iran.
“Saddam Hussein feared Iran’s arsenal more than a U.S. attack, and even considered asking ex-President George W. Bush “to protect” Iraq from its neighbor, once secret FBI files show,” reports the New York Daily News.
“The FBI interrogations of the toppled tyrant – codename “Desert Spider” – were declassified after a Freedom of Information Act request.”
Hussein told interrogators that he was more afraid of Iran than the U.S., and would have sought an alliance with Bush in order to protect his country from the “fanatic” Iranian ayatollahs.
Saddam also called Osama Bin Laden a “zealot” and swore that he never sought an alliance with the terror mastermind, adding that he would have preferred to seek a partnership with North Korea.

Hussein repeated that he had ordered the destruction of any remaining WMD before the invasion. “By God, if I had such weapons, I would have used them in the fight against the U.S.,” he added.
So desperate were the Bush administration to find a pretext to go into Iraq, that they even proposed staging provocations that would be blamed on Saddam.
As was highlighted again in the news last week, once it became obvious that UN inspectors would fail to find weapons of mass destruction, the government discussed alternative scenarios to hoodwink the UN into signing a new resolution authorizing military action.
One such proposal was to paint a U2 reconnaissance aircraft in UN colors and fly it over Iraqi territory, goading Saddam to order to aircraft shot at and thus violating UN resolutions.
The new revelation that Saddam would have been happy to become a military ally of the U.S. against Iran proves once again that the invasion of Iraq was not about making the Middle East safer or “liberating” a suppressed population – it was about creating a strategic foothold for U.S. imperial expansion in the region, taking over lucrative resources while handing out no bid contracts to military-industrial cronies, and providing a launch pad for the destabilization campaign and future attack on Iran.

You guys dog the Bush admin, rightfully so, for cherry picking Intel on Iraq’s WMD programs but then go and do the exact same tactic yourself when reporting on it in this article….
If you read the FBI agents report, the guy who interrogated Saddam, you will see Saddam went to great lengths to deceive the world and the US into thinking he still had WMD’s. He went as far as injecting nuclear material into one of his scientists, had him defect to the US and use his nuclear soaked blood as proof Saddam was working on a nuclear program.
He wanted to keep the US out and keep Iran afraid.
Also, if you look at the Fatwa UBL gave in 1998, almost every single reason he gave was in defense of Iraq and what the UN and the US was doing through sanctions. So, it really wasn’t far fetched to think UBL would work with Iraq.
If your going to reference released documents, by honest and talk about it all, not just the stuff you can twist into another dumb conspiracy theory….
With all that being said, we shouldn’t have gone into Iraq and the Bush admin should be held responsible for the invasion and the death of so many great Americans.
Regarding Iraq and 9/11. if you guys think 9/11 was an inside job, why is it “they” did not implicate Iraq? That would ahve helped quite a bit……..

I copied and pasted this post from you. I did look up some web sites concerning the “eye-witness” testimony. There are many inconsistencies in the various testimony, some which do not agree with the physical testimony. Case in Point…one said the wing of the jet he clearly saw hit the lawn of the Pentagon. But there was no physical damage to the lawn to confirm what he claims he saw.
If the Government did an inside job it would be to their benefit to fly a jet low around the Pentagon to have some people see it. But with eye-witness testimony, and with the testimonies conflicting as to what took place, you would have to degrade this form of information as a lower form than what physical evidence you can come up with (with a National News story people will come up and say anything to get that moment of fame, most probably had already seen the News that jets flew into the WTC building and would report the same to get on the News. Who is going to tell them they are wrong? Only the physical evidence can do this).
You see a photo of the Pentagon destruction hole and you see the comparative size of Flight 77 superimposed on this photo. This evidence is very powerful and far more valid than what any eye-witness may report. On this view they show where the wings would have hit the Pentagon. But there is not any sign of damage to the building. Hmmm… the body of the plane can punch holes in the Pentagon rings but the wings don’t even scratch the building??? As others have asked, why did the FBI take all video evidence and not release it to the Public (even to this day). Why did the only released video have the wrong date stamp?
As for eye-witness accounts. Say there is some object in the sky. 100 people see it and describe it differently. Say 100% say it is a UFO from another planet (and this has happened). Does that make it so?? Say an investigator looks into it and can find a reasonable explanation after listening to the various reports (say the object was Venus) what of the eye-witness testimony?

136 people saw the plane approach the Pentagon, and
104 directly saw the plane hit the Pentagon.
6 were nearly hit by the plane in front of the Pentagon. Several others were within 100-200 feet of the impact.
26 mentioned that it was an American Airlines jet.
39 others mentioned that it was a large jet/commercial airliner.
2 described a smaller corporate jet. 1 described a “commuter plane” but didn’t mention the size.
7 said it was a Boeing 757.
8 witnesses were pilots. One witness was an Air Traffic Controller and Pentagon tower Chief.
2 witnesses were firefighters working on their truck at the Pentagon heliport.
4 made radio calls to inform emergency services that a plane had hit the Pentagon.
10 said the plane’s flaps and landing gear were not deployed (1 thought landing gear struck a light pole).
16 mentioned seeing the plane hit light poles/trees, or were next to to the poles when it happened. Another 8 mentioned the light poles being knocked down: it’s unknown if they saw them hit.
42 mentioned seeing aircraft debris. 4 mentioned seeing airline seats. 3 mentioned engine parts.
2 mentioned bodies still strapped into seats.
15 mentioned smelling or contacting aviation/jet fuel.
3 had vehicles damaged by light poles or aircraft debris. Several saw other occupied vehicles damaged.
3 took photographs of the aftermath.
Many mentioned false alarm warnings of other incoming planes after the crash. One said “3-4 warnings.”
And of course,
0 saw a military aircraft or missile strike the Pentagon.
0 saw a plane narrowly miss the Pentagon and fly away.

Saddam’s big mistake was thinking that he was actually in charge of his country. As long as he was dancing to Rumsfeld’s tune he was 100% safe and protected. Once he decided that it was time to dump the dollar and sell the oil in Euro’s then over pump past his OPEC quota it was time to go.
It’s hard to make billions of dollars in profits at 89 cents a gallon for regular. The API and the James Baker Institute took care of that little problem.

Just because Rumsfield shook hands with Saddam 35 years ago doesn’t mean they are working together….If that was the case, then Saddam would have let US inspectors in and then slowly started an alliance with the US. It would have given the US access to their oil, we could have kept a good eye on the region and we wouldn’t have the collective eye of the world watching like they are now.

I discovered the truth for myself, and I now know who is really running this world and the America that I loved. Wait a minute, I want to add a off topic remark about this news article. First, what is up with the word patently… Obama and now here… It is the word of the week. One of its meanings is obvious. Isn’t saying Obviously obvious a little over done? It is the same thing as saying patently obvious.
As for Saddam being placed there and working with the US in the first place, it wouldn’t surprise me if he wanted back in US favor. It was the US that played off the two countries of Iran and Iraq and they fought a really bloody war against each other throughout the 1980’s. Meanwhile US was tinkering around in Pakistan and Afghanistan with the Soviet Afghan war. Basically all this crap is left over ideology from the Cold War. However US keeps its interest in this region for resources.

What disturbs me about this article is the slant against Iran. It makes Iran look like the real demon of the middle east. (Stirring up more fear and hatred.) I believe most of the article, but wonder if they’re playing up Saddam’s fear of Iran. It’s obvious some people in power would love to make Iran their next target.

memory hole, look it up. They went to great lengths to try to implicate Iraq in 9/11, and polls show that sadly, many americans still believe there was a link to this day.
Youtube Powell at the un security council, they also tried to blame the anthrax on Iraq, but Iraq didn’t have access to a specially made (only in the us) highly toxic blend that was used.
I can find countless MSM sources about how Bush/Cheney fabricated links between Iraq and 911, but I can’t find any about saddam trying to fake it.
Seriously, if Saddam had them he would have used them, why go to great lengths to fake it. They were looking for them, inspectors covering all the areas they could, Saddam would have to be insane to try to bluff because if they found traces, it’s war, Saddams chance at holding onto his power, and country, would have been to be very clear that they didn’t have them, not try to bluff.

Osama has been dead for years and would never have allied with Iraq, on purely religious grounds, they couldn’t have done it. And for the record, most of the rhetoric coming from Osama (the tapes that aren’t fake, again, google it) are almost always talking about 1 of 2 issues:

Yes, it should be noted that high levels of mercury and industrial fluoride will damage short term and long term memory, as well as weakening your will and mental capacity. It’s quite easy to get lost in the fog and haze, and for the most part, people want to believe the news, they want to believe their government cares for them.
They don’t, and the SCOTUS has already stated, the MsM does NOT have any obligation to report the truth. To your government, you are cattle, you consume the products they sell, and pay them taxes.
When you die, there are two more people ready to take your place, what makes you think for a second you matter? Once you are dead you are gone, and in this world, much like 1984, you can be vaporized.
