Defiant Iran angers US with missile test

Iran on Wednesday test-fired a missile whose range puts Israel within reach, angering the United States amid growing fears that the standoff over the contested Iranian nuclear drive could lead to war.
The Shahab-3 was among a broadside of nine missiles fired off in the early morning from an undisclosed location in the Iranian desert, state-run Arabic channel Al-Alam and its English counterpart Press-TV reported.
Al-Alam said the missiles test-fired by the elite Revolutionary Guards included a “Shahab-3 with a conventional warhead weighing one tonne and a 2,000-kilometre (1,240-mile) range.”

The firing comes at a time of growing tension over Tehran’s nuclear drive, which Iran has insisted is peaceful but the West fears could be aimed at making an atomic bomb.
“The aim of these war games is to show we are ready to defend the integrity of the Iranian nation,” Al-Alam quoted Revolutionary Guards air force commander Hossein Salami as saying.
“Our missiles are ready for shooting at any place and any time, quickly and with accuracy. The enemy must not repeat its mistakes. The enemy targets are under surveillance,” he added.

iran could have a million shahab’s. isreal is nuclear armed. paper covers rock, but nukes fuck your shit up, for a long time. maybe iran realizes that 20% of the worlds oil is under them, and even halliburton woulnt rape radioactive oilfields. and they’re whores for illegal occupation oil.

what happens when we are out of oil… well we have solar cars,,, electric cars,,, water cars,,, bio fuel cars….
we can still get to work and slave for our boss,,, don’t worry about that… there will be energy to burn….
the oil companys just want money and lots of it… imagine the last country on earth pumping out it’s last supplies of oil…
most people would think that everything will stop…
but in fact everything will continue, but without the oil…
oil is not the end… oil was the begining….

Hey Deep Red google Lindsey Williams. Enough oil was discovered in Alaska in the earley 70’s to supply the U.S. for 200 years! WE ARE NOT RUNNING OUT OF OIL! the ONLY reason we attacked Iraq and want to attack Iran is that they have refused to make the dollar as the only currency that they would sell oil. Our government is TERRIFIED of the thought of other nations following suit as that will totally collapse the dollar which is happening as we speak. You can thank Henry (total scumbag criminal) Kissinger for this mess.

If its just about oil, you might try attacking another oil rich nation…..like Saudi arabia, who has twice as much as Iran. And according to your government, most of the 9/11 hijackers were from there also. 2 good reasons no? Incidentally, according to the BP table i’m looking at, you’re beloved homeland has a fair bit as well!

But Nikoli is right. Theres a billion other ways to make wheels turn. Its a pity more of us are not looking into these methods, instead bowing our heads in deference to so called ‘experts’ from science. Remember, in Brazil they run their cars on alcohol fuel. Use your imagination, its what its there for. You don’t have to use oil.

Tesla: you’re not much of a scientist for a guy that named himself after one. The fact is that the USA doesn’t have enough oil left of its own to last more than a few more years, and all of the oil in the western Hemisphere won’t last much more than a decade. All of the oil in the world won’t last much more than fifty years, and oil’s going to get VERY expensive before it runs out.
As for Deep Red — the citizens of the USA aren’t worthy to wipe the butts of the Iranians, and Deep Red proves it.

With any luck, Iran will take out Israel while deep red is vacationing there. I’m shocked that a tatoo “artist” has an IQ that hovers around the mildly retarded range. I would think that tatooing dolphins and butterflies just above the a$$ of every female redneck in the country, would lend itself to a certain level if intellectual discourse. Deterance is the best thing Iran has going. Look at Iraq, first we made sure they had disarmed and then brutally attacked them. Our military is designed to attack defensless 3′rd world countries, not ones that can fight back.

Greg fegel: if oil in america is only going to last a few more years, then multiply that figure by 3 and you have approximately how long Iran’s will last. What googling proven oil reserves has to do with the scientific method is quite beyond me……
