The fence around the public demonstration zone outside the Democratic National Convention will be chicken wire or chain link, authorities revealed in U.S. District Court today.
That may allow protestors to be seen and heard by delegates going in and out of the Pepsi Center during the convention.
But the American Civil Liberties Union and several advocacy groups have filed an amended complaint to their lawsuit against the U.S. Secret Service and the city and county of Denver that says protestors and demonstrators may have their First Amendment rights violated by security restrictions.

The ACLU has said it wants to avoid the conditions that existed during the 2004 convention in Boston, where protesters were caged, infuriating First Amendment advocates.
The first phase of the lawsuit asked the court to compel the city and the Secret Service to disclose the information on protest restrictions.

It is like they are trying to cage animals. This is a complete outrage! There is nothing that says protesters need to be caged in the Constitution or Bill of Rights.
I think this should be fought till the end. They like the look of caged people. It gives them the sight of what it will look like if they put everyone in a FEMA camp. I’m surprisd they didn’t add razor-wire to the fence description.

I Love what they’re doing to help us fully realize that we’re living in the “land of the free.”

As much as I hate the idea of free speech zones it definitely cuts down on the chance of provocateurs ruining the protest.

One protest too many, and those zones will become a tent city full of prisoners.

Every day I thank God that they didn’t pull this shit when I returned from Vietnam! I had a hard enough time dealing with being 19 years old, and not even being able to vote for the lying dogs that sent us there! My first thought when I seen the fence in the article here was that Obamma didn’t want to take a chance getting dirty from being too close to the serfs! The last election I wrote in “No confidence in all the above” in the presidential election, and things haven’t changed. This fence is an outrage! Georg’e Busche’ has brought on this line of thinking, and the other half of the Republicrat Party, who use the misnomer “Democrat” to imply their views are enjoying all of Georg’es off the cuff one manlegislation! “Long Live the Republic”

Ben Franklin said “It’s a republic if you can keep it. ” When these turds pull this crap, it’s time to get the bolt cutters out. Illegal as hell.

This is an outrage! We have to take back the power from the New World Order before its too late!
BTW I LOVE the new look on the website! Just awesome!

The local Psy-op television press is showcasing this (story?) as a debate on which ‘free speech zone’ is ‘fair’.
We certainly wouldn’t want the news to have to explain to the very ‘officials’ where they get their ’sound bites’ from that America IS a free speech zone, and if peaceful demonstration ‘disrupts’ the Democratic National Convention that is ‘democracy’ at work and the price of freedom.

The fences just makes shooting the protesters easier. Long live the empire!!!

Wouldn’t surprise me if the thug cops will ship arrested protesters to Boulder and force them to stay in the basement where JonBenet Ramsey was murdered.

On private property they can protect their property and say you can not be there.
On public streets and public funded spaces I can not believe that the American people put up with being caged protesters.
They lock you up literally in a big fenced in cage. Any pictures of you will be behind fences and gates. That makes every protester look and feel like a criminal. Which they are not.
I can not believe that newsreporters are saying that people who question the government should be detained and locked up and even killed.
Right at the start of this convention if you really look at it they are seriously locking up protesters by police and gates and fences just for being there.
crazy. but then I am continually being shocked by what the American people will put up with and what they choose to ignore.

the government will pay for their sins to the american people soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
