France’s president says the rule of US dollar used to belong to the World War II epilogue and that the currency is no longer in the ascendant.
“The dollar, which at the end of World War II was the only world currency, can no longer claim to be the sole world currency,” said President Nicolas Sarkozy, AFP reported.
“What was true in 1945 can no longer be true today,” a fact admission to which, he claimed, was not a matter of ‘courage’ but ‘good sense’.
Sarkozy made the remarks on the eve of his flight to Washington where he is expected to attend the upcoming summit of the G20 (Group of 20 developing nations) on Saturday.

During the event, the seven key member states, Britain, Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Germany and the United States are expected to join others in canvassing collaborative measures aimed at curbing the global economic meltdown triggered by the US financial crisis.
