HOUSTON — The father of Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver was beaten by Houston, Texas, police officers as they arrested him for outstanding traffic warrants, Driver’s family members claimed Wednesday.
As they beat him and forced him to swallow something, the officers told Marvin Driver Jr. he was “going to see Jesus,” according to relatives and community activist Quanell Evans, who identified himself as Quanell X.
“Mr. Marvin Driver Jr. is now at Hermann Hospital in ICU where he can’t even speak,” relatives said in a statement. “Doctors say there is some bleeding on his brain from blunt force trauma.”

Police said Driver was arrested for outstanding traffic warrants and was found to be “unresponsive” upon his arrival at jail. Paramedics transported him to the hospital, they said. The Houston Police Department said in a written statement it takes the assault allegations “very seriously, and will begin a thorough investigation into the matter.”
The two officers involved remain on duty pending further investigation, police said. However, relatives and Evans called for the officers involved to be suspended or placed on administrative leave until the investigation is complete.
The incident began late Sunday when Driver was dropping his brother, Winston Driver, off after the two had moved furniture, family members said.

In regards to Brandon: citizens will have to form a posse and overwhelm offenders when they are alone or at home. This will make it near impossible from a legal standpoint to assess blame or who did what to whom and how it started. And a posse can just melt back into the citizenry in a few minutes after they are done a mission. It will also send a clear message to the thugs who happen to have a badge to stop or quit. Even bad cops use this technique: a crowd of them gather over a victim in a way that onlookers can’t even see what’s going on. Then who can report what? WHo started it? What happened? No one will know. ANd the neighbors, who are afraid to challenge the bad cops won’t react to “help” the bad cops by calling more of them in because they will equally fear the posse. So they will do nothing, just like they are doing now.

People really need to get involved when this kind of crap happening. Only a coward would just stand there like a jackass and watch such abuse unfold. Fact is, each American citizen has the legal right to perform what is called a “citizen arrest.” The police officials who are violating law surely will not respond to this approach real well, but if you are willing and couragous enough to press the issue it is your right. If they refuse to allow you to exercise it ask to speak with their watch commander, or at least get their name. Take names and badge numbers of every cop you you speak with. All this information should be included in the incident report you will submit to the department’s internal affairs division. Be sure to follow up by also informing the State Attorney General and the local District Attorney of the criminal complaint while demanding a written disposition and prosecution. If you can at the time of the incident take pictures, write down statements made by offending police officers and any witnesses that may be in the area. Once all this is finnished and the report is submitted contact the local television and ealk radio media and provide them with a copy of the incident report. Just remember unruley cops will often arrest you for things like obstructing justice so be prepared for them to use this tactic. Usually a judge will dismiss these bogus charges once it is established there was misconduct on the part of the police.

I construe “you’re going to see Jesus” as evidence of intent to kill. Attempted murder. And what did they make him swallow? If anyone else in the country did this they’d be in jail until their court date, yet these cops are allowed to keep walking around armed “dispensing justice”.
I think the police department are trying to get these cops lynched. Every policy seems to be a blatant provocation of war. They want us to rise up so badly they can taste it. When it happens, let’s be smart about it ok?
Also, non-violent resistance and unarmed resistance are different things.
We got the right to peacefully address grievances by showing up outside the rulers’ house with torches and pitchforks. It was then “negotiated” that if we had complaints they would be heard, “just please don’t hang or burn me”. That seemed better for everyone.
But since we started to negotiate without arms to back up our words, the ruling class hasn’t listened to a thing. Why should they?
I’ve said this before, if Woodstock took place in D.C. with torches and clubs in hand, then the Vietnam War would have ended that day.

I’m not sure about some of the stuff in these comments. Only a coward would stand by and watch this happening? You’re passing by and see this, so now what? Two heavily-armed dudes (the cops) are beating someone. You’re going to step in? They’ve got guns, clubs, mace and tasers, and are already obviously angry and swinging the billy clubs, drawing blood and breaking bones. What stops them from busting you up a little, then claiming you ‘interfered,’ booking and jailing you, stopping you from working, causing you to hire a lawyer, run the risk of a conviction, taking time off from work later, possibly a lot, running up hospital/dental bills, having your car towed while you’re locked up, etc? The legal system backs them solidly, not you. I saw a mounted cop in a park a few months ago standing in front of his horse holding the horse’s reins tightly and with short slack in his left hand and beating the horse’s front knees with his billy club. Of course the horse was screaming and trying to get away. Another mounted cop was sitting nearby, chuckling at the whole thing. I thought about saying or doing something, but realized I would just instantly become another target or that the onlooking cop would just hook me up and claim I tried to stop the one doing the beating from ‘feeding’ or ‘petting’ his horse or something. I would take some licks, go to jail, pay a lawyer, go to ‘trial,’ miss work, need to see a doctor, etc.

before a cop ever approaches your car,dispatch already has the registration number,type and color of the car and the name of the supposed occupant/owner,so anything you are thinking about doing to them will lead directly back to you,now on the other hand,if you take the advice of Patrick Hair here,you might be able to knock some sense into a couple of punk cops,but this will only get you closer to martial law,only faster,
Here’s a reasonable way to get dirt on these civil rights denying jack asses,get a police scanner and a group of well known citizens,(you know those with a high standing in the community),listen to the dispatcher over the scanner,and send the citizen patrol to video the officers on duty in their quest to uphold the law,and protect the citizens,LOL,Then when these cops are caught in this type of activity,you not only have the proof you need to force the officers out of your community and off your police force,but you also have the evidence for the victim to use in Civil court when they sue these punk ass cops for beating them and denying them their civil rights..some may say that it’s illegal to scan police dispatch calls,or film officers in the line of duty,but I say BULLSHIT!!,they have every law in place to do every kind of spying,lying and manipulation of facts against us,and I say that since they are in the public realm,doing a public service,we have every right as citizens to examine our employees in the carrying out of their duties,They do not possess the same right to privacy in their job that you or I do,and they are required to be transparent and truthful in the following out of these said duties,any cop that has been accused and found guilty of these crimes against a citizen,should not only be arrested,prosecuted and convicted of their crimes,but they should be stripped of their right to possess a firearm and they should have to relinquish all their possessions over to their victim,along with a minimum $1million dollar fee to the victim for restitution,even if it leaves them homeless,without a car and their wife leaving them with the kids,they should be shamed by their community,and exiled with a lifetime tag,or tattoo that lets everyone know that they were found guilty of violation of civil liberties and should never be allowed to work in law enforcement again.,not even a security job.

another useful tool to use against these officers is those sonic hearing devices that let you hear conversations from far away,even though you might not be able to use them in a criminal case against them,Civil court is different in as it will allow recorded statements as evidence,especially in a situation where it’s a civil rights violation where racism could have been the motive,.

I used to have a taser and I kept it in my back pocket but every time I sat down it shocked the shit out of me so after a while I got kind of used to it and eventually I could hold it to the palm of my hand and tase myself without really being especialy devestated by it. Oh sure they’re still quite annoying however I am relativey certain that should someone attempt to taser me, I will be taking that taser from it’s user and inserting it into thier ass.
