Drinks companies, like Diageo, must have friends in high places?
England is a country full of drunken kids.
And in England, alcohol-related deaths have risen by 40 % in 10 years
On 10 Jul 2009, we read that in Newquay, a squalid little town in south west England, 16 year-old Paddy Higgins drank alcohol and then fell to his death.
His body was discovered at the base of cliffs.
Family hits out at town’s bars after underage son dies after booze …
Paddy is the second youngster to fall to his death off cliffs in the town in a week.
It is illegal to sell alcohol to kids under 18, or to someone suspected of buying it on behalf of someone under 18.
Is it possible that the London government, and certain police chiefs, are too friendly with the drinks companies, who want to sell more booze?
Paddy had just sat his GCSE exams at The Forest School in Winnersh.
Unicef brought out a report called Child Poverty in Perspective: An Overview of Child Well-being in Rich Countries.
The UK came bottom of the league table for child well-being across 21 industrialised countries.
The USA came second bottom.
The Unicef report examined ‘poverty’, ‘peer and family relationships’, ‘health’ and a number of other aspects of physical and emotional well-being.
The research found British children regard themselves as less happy, drink more alcohol, take more drugs, and had more underage sex than children elsewhere.
British children were also more prone to failure at school, to experience violence, bullying and suffer a greater number of unhappy relationships with both their families and peers.
In education, the UK came behind former eastern bloc countries, including Poland and the Czech Republic.
Small independent countries topped the league: The Netherlands, followed by Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
The Unicef study found that Britain had the lowest proportion of children who found their friends kind and helpful – 40%, compared to 80% in Switzerland.
According to the report, UK child poverty has doubled since 1979.

A report by the thinktank Civitas claims that Britain has one of the highest crime rates in the developed world.

The report adds that British policing is among the worst in the world.
The report says burglaries have increased more than fivefold, from 72,000 in 1964 to 402,000 last year, and that police numbers have not kept pace with crime.

Former Labour minister Frank Field is claiming that the Government’s policy of driving young mums back into work is fuelling “yob culture”.
Ex-welfare minister Frank Field believes mothers should be given financial help to stay at home for the first two years of a child’s life.
Mr Field argues that nurturing children during their first two years is crucial to the kind of citizens they become.

Kerevan’s wife phoned the police and asked if she should take a photograph of the neds who were demolishing the roof of a neighbouring property (there being no squad car instantly available). She was warned about the dangers of being had up for taking pornographic images of children.
Kerevan refers to the book “Neighbours from Hell: The Politics of Behaviour”, in which Labour MP, Frank Field argues that:
1. earlier societies had built-in social contracts.
2. survival demanded co-operation. Rights came with responsibilities to the group.
3. young people had to earn the right to acceptance within churches, schools, teams, places of work. They learned politeness, considerateness and respect.
Kerevan was brought up on a bleak housing estate in Glasgow in the 1950s.
“Break a window or give cheek to an adult and your dad would soon know and do something about it, or he would face the censure of his peer group.”
“Today, that adult male bonding has gone, and with it the institutions that moderate behaviour on similar estates.”
What Field wants:
1. The teaching of parenting skills.
2. Welfare payments to be linked to behaviour — abuse a teacher, and your parents’ welfare gets docked.
3. Give genuine power back to local communities.
Neighbourhood courts should be run locally by elected community prosecution lawyers whose careers would depend on their ability to maintain law and order on their patch.
Kerevan suggests that
1. the granting of tenancies on council estates should be subject to approval by existing tenants,
2. the local police superintendent (sheriff) should be elected.

Stupid people vote for stupid. It’s exactly what they wanted and they are getting it. I expect more stupidity. TBH I don’t even care anymore. The british on the whole have become a bunch of sorry lard asses, our establishment is totally corrupt and anyone calling himself a leader is just useless scum. You get a woman who fucks behind you back, she has a baby and you pay child support for like 10 years to find that the baby is not yours. guess what? you don’t get the money back.
ok, the woman in you life decides to have a baby and stops taking the pill, you have said to her you don’t want a baby. She says she is pregnant, you say I don’t want the baby:
A woman has a right to abort without your consent.
A woman has the right to have the baby (you will have to pay) you have no paper abortion to ask for.
A woman give the baby up for adoption, you have no right to say no.
Police, when there is a domestic violence phone call to them, normally always arrest the man, even when it’s the man who is the injured party.
The NHS spends 2 thirds of it’s money on women, this is not even taking into account of birth and gynaecological procedures, men pay more tax, give more to charity and live in more poverty when the wife divorces him and STEALS the children that you have to pay for. Then if your very lucky you get to she ‘your’ children at weekends, some men only get to see them every 2 weeks or longer, that’s if the woman has not gone to another country. Even when it’s the woman who has had an affair she still gets the children!!!!
Men get more time in prison for the same crime as a woman would commit..
There are more men unemployed than women, yet women get more help back into work, go to the local job centre and you will see that there is about 85% women running the place, yup favouritism towards women. Look in the high street, its women who have got all the jobs.
Yup it’s a man’s paradise alright, when men fuck around because all the women are doing it, it’s the only thing that men can ‘prove’ their manhood, because everything else has been taken away. Now they have even taken the sperm away from them by creating sperm.

I straddle two families – one in North America and one in Britain. So what is the difference? My North American family is loving, ambitious, kind and generous, sociable, clean, well dressed and well behaved. I have never seen them get drunk and violent. My British family is negative, nasty, racist, always getting drunk, said stupid things to me like ‘why don’t you become a bin man’, like that was a great career, and have never said a kind word or done anything supportive in my entire life. They are also a litiny of divorces and broken families. And it isn’t a wealth thing, the Brits have jobs, houses and money. It is just that they are truly awful human beings.

Hello,
I feel extremely ashamed to have lived in the UK for the past 60 years – the majority of the comments stated are true and extremely regretable. It is not just that children are sidelined by the state – all persons who are not connected with either of the two main political parties are sidelined or ignored. The UK environment has no social or moral infrastructure – everyone does what he/she deems fit without regard for anyone but themselves.
Having your son or daughter killed in the barbaric efforts to kill innocent peoples in far off places is the greatest accomplishment of most UK folk, the powerfulness of the armed forces is the UK’s only god, the ability to kill is literally a sacred tennet of UK life, extreme violence as practised by both male and female UK nationals and non-nationals living in the UK very depressing. The UK is probably the best place to live before you die and go to hell, since hell cannot possible be worse.

Not that I’m against it if I don’t have to see Kirk Cameron on tv anymore in that genuinely bizarre religious show of his. RE: the rapture being a false doctrine: Check out oldtruth.com The rapture IS a false doctrine. It’s only been around about 250 years. The early church never taught TWO SECOND COMINGS, only ONE. Nobody will be “left behind.” Either you’re IN or you’re OUT!

The word “rapture” isn’t found in the Bible, but “caught up” is. The terminolgy in 1Thessalonians 4:13-18 says that when the Lord Jesus Christ comes for His true church comprised of born again believers, “we which are alive and remain shall be caught up to meet the Lord in the air.” To be “caught up” is to be seized, catch away, pluck, take by force, by the power of God. Sinners you need to realize your need to be born again by the Spirit of God (John 3:3-7), for you are lost in your sins and you need to be saved from them. Electing local Sheriffs is a very good idea!
I was in housing, a dsiabled man. But a single parent, I was able interact with other even poorer kids. One young red haired, basically good kid, became interested in a suggestion I made: I said, I found an out of order electric lawnmower, in the trash. (Being a retired mechanic) I said, I know it only needs a new set of brushes! It being an older model, thoo only else was it’s blade needed sharpening.
I suggested to the boy, young red headed Patrick(of course) he could have to mower if I bought brushes and adapted them, then if he assisted me as I installed the new brushes. I had already also showed him how to sharpen the blade with gloves on and a good coarse bastard file;One condition:That he repay me later on the $5 for my cost of buying the brushes…he agreed.
And I told him he would need an extension cord he said he could use or borrow his mother’s. Off he went, and running back to greet me in just an hour or so, he paid me back my $5 for the brushes and away he went,…earning his own money cutting neighbour’s lawns…!
Since our project was beside a very wealthy neighbourhood, I suggested he choose his customers well. But not forget some good neighbouring single poor moms lawns too…
I was very pleased with the idea, God given it was. Thank you Jesus!

Who Gives a Shit about British kids drinking habits? And the U.S. was second to the bottom of the “uni-cef list”? Teens Like to Drink Screw and try weed. The dumb ones will always go on to the hard stuff and drop out of society. The U.S. Is probably falling to the bottom so fast because of the inner city youth culture of “Bangin’”. that spreads, to the middle class communities. It’s Really funny seeing the first generation, Middle class, bi-lingual Mexican kids acting like little gang bangers. It’s from the entire hip-hop culture. Well, as bad as things are here in the U.S., at least we can point to the U. K. and say things aren’t as bad as they could be. As a side note. How do they put up with all those cameras following their every movement. I couldn’t live like that. It would drive me to drink.
