Dutch Environmental Minister Bizarrely Claims Hackers Manipulated Data in E-Mails

In an incredible reversal of fact and fiction the Dutch Environmental minister Jacqueline Cramer claimed today that the hackers who took the data from University of East-Anglia’s server “manipulated the numbers”, supposedly to sabotage the upcoming Copenhagen conference.
Although nobody disputes the authenticity of the e-mails, Cramer apparently does. In addition to her bizarre statement that the unknowns, after hacking into the University’s computer, somehow “changed the numbers” she even goes so far as to scream out loud: “this is just criminal. It’s unacceptable.”
Although the authenticity of the e-mails unearthed is not even disputed by the scientists who wrote them, Cramer claims they are. According to several Dutch newspapers she also added that the action by the hackers is regarded as of little consequence by the climate negotiators who gather in Copenhagen next month. She also added that she has no problem engaging climate skeptics, “but not like this.”
In response to the accusations by Cramer, Holland’s biggest newspaper De Telegraaf now reports that a member of the Dutch opposition party PVV is urging the minister to explain herself in her turn regarding the obvious fudging with climate data by the IPCC-affiliated climate research unit (translation is by PrisonPlanet.Forum member Squarepusher):“I want to know”, stated PVV-member De Mos, “if minister Cramer does not find it despicable that people have been so utterly misled.”
Dutch geophysicist Hans Erren concurs. “This is very damning”, Erren told De Telegraaf, uttering furthermore his complete disdain for this “clique of politically motivated scientists that try to get rid of everything that does not fit their ideology.”
Now what on earth could provoke the minister to carelessly and bizarrely lie about the hackers and the data uncovered by them? The answer is: only one with an interest to perpetuate the global warming hoax. Who else would claim right off the bat that the data was fixed by the hackers?
Here’s a hint. Last month the very same environmental minister who is now angrily railing against the hackers, addressed the Club of Rome’s Global Assembly gathering held in Amsterdam in the run-up to Copenhagen. In the company of Queen Beatrix and Michael Gorbachev, she
“Like so many of you, I was inspired by the Club of Rome to pursue a green career. I read the Limits to Growth as a young biology student in 1972.”
After this remarkable confession by the current environmental minister, Cramer continues worshiping the 1972 publication, saying that:
“After I had digested its importance, I couldn’t wait to do my part to help save the planet. I have no regrets that I went green- it has been a lifelong challenge and adventure.”
After calling for a “global strategy”, she stated:
“Club of Rome, thank you. You identified and put the spotlight on humankind’s predicament. And more than that. You inspire me and many, many others to take collective action. And to create an environmentally conscious movement representing all layers of society. I firmly believe that we can only transit to a sustainable economy through such a collective action. Now it is up to all of us to implement the solutions. And of course I will do my part.”

Hacked climate e-mails and FOI

Freedom of information can be a troublesome matter for some academic institutions – and this is well illustrated by the surprising content of some e-mails hacked from the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia and published on the internet a few days ago.
The CRU is a leading centre for the study of climate change and has played a key role in the work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. It’s also a focus of criticism for a vociferous band of climate change sceptics, who have started hunting through the large quantity of hacked e-mails with enthusiasm.
Whatever these e-mails may or may not say about climate change is outside the scope of this blog. But they are certainly interesting from the FOI point of view.
I should note that it is not yet possible to confirm beyond doubt that the hacked e-mails are all authentic. However, I have discussed them with the university press office and the CRU’s director, Professor Phil Jones, who is the author of many of them. They both say that there are so many documents that they have not yet been able to check that they are all genuine. But it’s certainly clear that some are real, and neither the university nor Professor Jones made any attempt to question the authenticity of any of them.
Several of the e-mails suggest that Professor Jones apparently had considerable unease at the requirements of the FOI Act (although I should point out that actually the material involved would be more likely to come under the Environmental Information Regulations, which lay down similar disclosure obligations).
According to one of the hacked e-mails, Professor Jones made the following remark with reference to two of his critics who want access to his data: “If they ever hear there is a Freedom of Information Act now in the UK, I think I’ll delete the file rather than send to anyone.”
According to another, he advised a colleague to delete e-mails relating to the IPCC’s Fourth Assessment Report.
And according to yet another, he wrote: “Think I’ve managed to persuade UEA to ignore all further FOIA requests if the people have anything to do with Climate Audit.”
But perhaps it is the following extracts from this one which best conveys Professor Jones’s apparent feelings of coming under siege from information requests:
“When the FOI requests began here, the FOI person said we had to abide by the requests. It took a couple of half hour sessions – one at a screen, to convince them otherwise showing them what CA [Climate Audit] was all about… I don’t know who else at UEA may be getting them… We’re away of requests going to others in the UK.
“The inadvertent email I sent last month has led to a Data Protection Act request sent by a certain Canadian, saying that the email maligned his scientific credibility with his peers! If he pays 10 pounds (which he hasn’t yet) I am supposed to go through my emails and he can get anything I’ve written about him. About 2 months ago I deleted loads of emails, so have very little – if anything at all. This legislation is different from the FOI – it is supposed to be used to find put why you might have a poor credit rating !
“In response to FOI and EIR requests, we’ve put up some data – mainly paleo data. Each request generally leads to more – to explain what we’ve put up. Every time, so far, that hasn’t led to anything being added – instead just statements saying read what is in the papers and what is on the web site! … We’ve never sent programs, any codes and manuals.
“In the UK, the Research Assessment Exercise results will be out in 2 weeks time. These are expensive to produce and take too much time, so from next year we’ll be moving onto a metric based system. The metrics will be # and amounts of grants, papers and citations etc. I did flippantly suggest that the # of FOI requests you get should be another.”
When I put the allegation to Professor Jones that the hacked e-mails suggested he had supported deleting e-mails in breach of FOI, he said: “We haven’t deleted any emails. I delete my own personal emails a year at a time regardless of subject as I have too many, but the university still has the emails.”
Professor Jones also told me that he concurs with the view expressed by some other academics that freedom of information may be too intrusive into academic matters. He said: “My e-mails were personal. This is all about academic freedom. I’m just a humble scientist trying to do research.”
The University of East Anglia denies that its FOI team reached an agreement with Professor Jones to “ignore” certain information requests. Its spokesperson told me:
“In some areas, there are persistent and motivated groups or individuals whose applications create a volume of work which is extremely demanding. Nonetheless, we try to respond to all such requests within our guidelines.”
It adds that it consulted the Information Commissioner’s Office on how to handle a large number of similar requests for climate data.
According to its latest published caseload [166KB PDF], the ICO is investigating one complaint against UEA over a request for “information about research, reviews, conclusions and reports into climate change studies”.

A pissing little blog entry means it’s covered by the BBC? Even this blog says –
“Whatever these e-mails may or may not say about climate change is outside the scope of this blog.”
So this is only covering the FOI implications which are pretty minor when compared to the world government that is being constructed in the name of saving the planet.
In fact the “brave and honest” BBC sat on this story for 5 weeks!

“I was forwarded the chain of e-mails on the 12th October, which are comments from some of the worlds leading climate scientists written as a direct result of my article ‘whatever happened to global warming’. The e-mails released on the internet as a result of CRU being hacked into are identical to the ones I was forwarded and read at the time and so, as far as l can see, they are authentic.”
BBC Newsnight covered this story on Monday but decided mainly to focus on the word “trick” by a means of narrowing the debate. It did not mention the significance of the CRU in the IPCC process, nor did it mention many other things such as the manipulation of the peer review process, and the $22 million in grants paid to the CRU.
The BBC has a 24 hour global news channel, not to mention 4 channels at home as well as Radio and the internet. They have not given this story the attention it deserves.

That’s right; climate will lead to more conflict in Africa. It’s nothing to do with the all the mineral deposits that are current being fought over proxy wars between the US, Russia and China.
The BBC has covered this but with it typical alarmist bias and practically buried the story. Alex never said the BBC hadn’t covered the story, he complained about them sitting on the story.

Hello there, I am from the Netherlands and was very hopeful when I heard the news that some very good and nice people hacked the proof of this scandal.
Now its known for about 6 days and the Dutch media wont cover it.
The PVV is not my kind of party but I thank them for asking a debate.
When that happens the media have to cover it.
Wont feel sorry Americans our politicians also LIE and LIE and spend our money.
Our freedoms also vanish and I hope that our peaceful revolution starts very soon and I think you people of America are the example of a Nation that is in an state of AWEKENING.

Peaceful revolution? Really. Do you think it would make them even think about changing their policy.
In the Netherlands a protest, or demonstration, are 100 people behind fences, with 300 policemen, and riot control watching them.

they should have tried that tact in the beginning, it’s a little too late now that Dr. Mann, a professor at Pennsylvania State University, confirmed in an interview that the e-mail message was real. He said the choice of words by his colleague was poor but noted that scientists often used the word “trick” to refer to a good way to solve a problem, “and not something secret.”

I remeber when bush was whipping up support to take us into iraq, if you said anything negative about going to war with iraq people would label you as a muslim sympathizer. There was such a frenzy of patriotic fervor at that time, no one cared to look at the facts.

This is a huge story and could have been released to take our minds off of some rather nasty legislation being considered by many first world governments.

I have an urgent message for you, more important than any message you can hear. God is Holy and cannot accept sin(honor thy mother and father…, thou shall not kill, thou shall not commit adultery, thou shall not steal, thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor, thou shall not covet..etc…Exodus 20:12-17). Here are some verses that show examples of sin:
“Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.” Matthew 5:21-22

Offending a Holy, Just and eternal God demands ETERNAL punishment! “…he is an holy God;…he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.” Joshua 24:19; “…For the LORD is a God of judgement…” Isaiah 30:18;”…a just God…” Isaiah 45:21; “The eternal God…” Deuteronomy 33:27

But God has provided a way for each to escape the lake of fire. He sent his Son Jesus(God manifest in the flesh-1 Timothy 3:16) who was conceived by a virgin by the Holy Spirit of God,lived a sinless life, and suffered a horrible death/shed blood and rose again 3 days later to take the penalty of YOUR sins so you dont have to pay for them in hell for eternity! He loved you so much which is why he did it! He is the only one to have fufilled the law perfectly(sinless) and paid the price of the entire world’s sins so that man could be saved on the merits of His perfection(see Romans 5:19). All you must do to be saved is BELIEVE in Him(trust in Him to save you as a sinner). You must admit your lost sinful condition to Him/that you’re worthy of hell, and ask Him to save you by placing complete trust in Jesus ALONE for salvation(an example in the Word of someone doing this- “And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.” Luke 18:13).It is not even partly by yourselves that you can be saved, but only by the merits of Jesus Christ!
“For God so loved the world, He sent his only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16.

The Bible condemns the rich, the wealthy, and those who take advantage of the poor, so it CANNOT have been made up by the elite. Because the Word clearly CONDEMNS people such as those! It declares all mankind as sinners(myself included).

In some order..
The ‘hacker’ part has pretty much fallen apart, ‘leaker’ is more like it.
This against a backdrop of unanswered FOIA etc.
Ignoring the whole this hasn’t worked either.
Declaring it irrelevant is also not working, but is causing damage.
Accusing the ‘other guys’ (in this case the leaker)
of fudging the numbers is a novel bit of sophistry.
These guys are in deep s--- and they know it!

This is a woman that in the 80s signed a petition supporting stolen documents about some nuclear reactor in the Netherlands and now she is condemning the stealing of documents exposing the climate change fraud.
So steeling documents about a nuclear reactor (and putting public safety at risk) is ok but stealing documents exposing the truth about climate change is not.
My country is run (into the ground) by a bunch of spineless, EU and Beatrix/Bilderberg abiding idiots anyway.
It was recently announced that we in the Netherlands are going to have to pay higher energy bills because the country wants to reach certain climate goals without taking it from the budget.

There are people in jail in Holland based on falsified telephone tapping by the police. But that’s not a problem…..it only is when it’s not convenient. More worrying is that no big news station in Holland picked up this story. Not one !!

In the Netherlands we do the most wire tapping in the world relatively compared to population size.
It is estimated that yearly 2.5 million people are at one point wire tapped. On a population of 16.5 million.

Don’t be deceived by our ‘de-balled’ media. They might be de-balled with reference to this subject, but we – the English – aren’t. If it ever came to any crunch we won’t be taking any marching orders from some Dutch hatchet-faced old boot (even if the boot is made from sustainable fibres).
