Effort to block Bernanke nomination will fail – Dodd

WASHINGTON, Dec 3 (Reuters) – Senator Christopher Dodd, Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, said on Thursday that efforts by another senator to block Ben Bernanke’s nomination for a second term as Federal Reserve Chairman will fail.

“I think the majority of the members will support the chairman,” he told reporters on the sidelines of a hearing on the Fed Chairman’s reappointment.
